06:14When you're looking for a quick and easy way to bulk up those traps,
06:17I recommend shoulder shrugs!
06:19This movement is simple enough to do at home
06:21and should be a staple if you experience shoulder pain.
06:24First, make sure you're standing with your feet shoulder-width apart.
06:27Face the back of your hand away from your body.
06:29Shrug and hold and then lower your shoulders.
06:32Repeat this motion in a steady rhythm.
06:34Take notice of how your traps are contracting with every shrug.
06:37You can also do this exercise with a barbell if you prefer.
06:40Use it the same way as a dumbbell.
06:42Regardless of which one you choose,
06:44it's important to use proper form and tighten that core for maximum support.
06:48Many people find that their grip wears out before their traps do.
06:52If this happens to you, I recommend trying a wrist strap.
06:55If you're experiencing regular shoulder pain,
06:58add these shrugs to your back and shoulder day workouts.

11:25So, while we're on the subject, let's discuss how to do a proper push-up.
11:29The push-up is classic. It utilizes your own body weight for resistance.
11:33Even if you've never done it, most everyone has at least seen one.
11:36How'd Ayaka get changed so fast?
11:38The target areas for push-ups are the chest area, and primarily the triceps section of the arm.
11:43Keep your hands closer together if you want to target your triceps more.
11:47Spread them further apart if you want the focus to go toward your chest.
11:51You can adjust the distance as you get closer to your goals.
11:55Slowly bend your elbows and lower your body down to a hover above the ground.
11:59Be careful not to lift or lower your hips as you drop.
12:02Keep your body in a straight line and straighten your elbows to lift you up.
12:06Start with 3 sets of 20 if you can.
12:08But remember, the number of these particular style of push-ups is not as important as doing them with precise form.
12:14If you've ever seen someone doing speed push-ups, these are half as effective, so I wouldn't recommend them.
12:20Complete more reps, but chances of injury are higher with a jerking movement.
12:24As for the handstand push-ups Akami is slaying right now.
12:27Those will stimulate your traps as well as your chest and arms.
12:30Of course, these are a lot more challenging, and you should wait until you've built up your strength
12:34doing standard push-ups and other trap exercises before giving this one a whirl.
12:39There are several varieties of push-ups to accommodate any fitness level and give you the sculpted upper body you desire.
