00:00The House Quad Committee has insisted it is merely after the truth and is not doing a demolition job.

00:07In fact, lawmakers are so interested in achieving such end that they are now eyeing to expand the scope of the probe even further,

00:15which will even include the use of confidential funds by the previous administration.

00:20Why? Mela Lesmora reveals in this report.

00:25The House Quad Committee firmly stated their hearings are neither a demolition job against anyone nor is it orchestrated.

00:33According to Quadcom Co-Chair Dan Fernandez, even they were surprised by the revelations that have come out of their investigations,

00:41including the statements made by former PCSO General Manager and retired Police Colonel Roina Garma

00:47on what she knows about former President Rodrigo Duterte's war on illegal drugs.

00:53Fernandez emphasized no one forced Garma to speak about this.

00:57In the next Quadcom hearing, former NAPLCOM Commissioner Edilberto Leonardo has reportedly hinted on exposing more about the illegal drugs war.

01:22However, the committee still awaits his affidavit.

01:27We wanted to find out the veracity of his statements.

01:33Of course, you have to realize that Commissioner Leonardo is not the only one who wanted to speak and have their stories be heard.

01:46There are many, but we just want to make sure that their statements are substantial.

01:55In addition, the joint panel will also investigate how former President Duterte's office spent its confidential and intelligence funds during the past administration.

02:05Some suspect these funds may have been used for rewards to police officers allegedly involved in the killing of illegal drug suspects.

02:13In the first two months, we saw a sudden increase.

02:19From the former President Pinoy, the intel fund suddenly increased.

02:24If there is an abusive intent in using the intel fund to kill people and pay those who perpetrate it,

02:34then I think we need to tighten up the liquidation of the intel fund.

02:43Meanwhile, regarding Pogos, the Quadcom is still hoping to have Attorney Harry Roque and his wife Mayla Roque appear before the panel as both are currently facing contempt and arrest orders.

02:54The joint panel has yet to obtain information on the whereabouts of the former presidential spokesperson.

03:00As for his wife, although it has been confirmed she has left the country, the Quadcom will still make efforts to hear her side.

03:07We will try to pursue our invitation to her because she is very crucial.

03:14It entails about the amount of money that entered the account of Secretary Harry Roque and being the wife.

03:24It was recorded in the file and we wanted to find out where the money came from.
