00:00On Friday, the first step to enlighten the public on who should be held into account for the alleged extrajudicial killings is about to be taken by the House Quad Committee panel.

00:10Then again, all inquiries into the issue will fall by the wayside unless the principal personality who gave the orders takes the stand as resource person, as our Mela Lesmora reports.

00:25The House Quad Committee is set to continue their hearing on Friday.

00:29According to Quadcom lead chair Robert Ace Barbers, they will focus on issues regarding alleged extrajudicial killings during the previous administration,

00:38although some matters concerning illegal drugs and illegal pogos may still be brought up.

01:00Quadcom co-chair Bienvenido Abante Jr. also said, aside from various personalities, some relatives of the alleged victims of EJK will also appear at the hearing.

01:11Given the wide range of issues covered by the Quadcom hearings, Abante believes that discussions on this matter may extend until the 20th Congress.

01:30the NUPL and the relatives of the EJK victims, of course during the implementation of the war on drugs, particularly in Cebu City when Colonel Garma was the chief director.

01:58Recently, former President Rodrigo Duterte expressed readiness to face the Quadcom hearings.

02:03This was welcomed by the joint panel, but it is expected he will not be among those participating in the discussions this Friday.

02:11Meanwhile, some of those being investigated by the Quadcom, as well as certain individuals facing multiple charges, have even filed their certificates of candidacy for re-election.

02:45Apart from the Quadcom, next week, the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability is also expected to continue discussions on issues regarding the budget utilization of the Office of the Vice President.

02:57Even the House Small Committee, tasked to compile and finalize individual amendments to the proposed 2025 national budget, is expected to iron out the details of the proposal in the coming days.
