00:00The Camera has already approved an additional P300 billion for the budget for the next year.
00:09This is to improve social services and ensure food security in the country.
00:14The details in the report of Mela Lesmoras.
00:19To further strengthen the government's assistance to our fellow countrymen,
00:23the Camera raised the funds for social services under 2025.
00:29General Appropriations Bill.
00:31According to the House Committee on Appropriations Chair Elizalde Co,
00:34this was approved by the House Small Committee, which was ruled by a low percentage
00:39to amend the Individual and Institutional Amendments in the version of the Camera of the Pano Calang Pundo.
00:46More than P292 billion was raised by congressmen
00:51for improving social services, social safety nets, and food security.
00:57As part of the primary amendments of the Camera in the budget proposal,
01:01P39.8 billion was raised for the AICS program of the DSWD.
01:07This was also added for the assistance in the Kaposangkita Program or ACAP.
01:13While the Sustainable Livelihood Program for low-income families,
01:17the Camera also raised P3.4 billion.
01:21Chairman Co said that this additional allocation is important
01:24to support the Filipinos in need,
01:28and they believe that through the government's livelihood programs,
01:33poverty will also be averted.
01:35Some of the funds raised by the Camera are for the DOLE program,
01:40Government Internship Program,
01:42Tulong Dunong Program, and Scholarship Programs of the government.
01:46Even though the construction of new houses and facilities in schools
01:50under the Department of Education
01:52was also given an additional allocation for low-income families.
01:56According to Appropriations Senior Vice-Chair Stella Kimbo,
01:59education will be of great help for the future of the country,
02:04and this is one of their priorities.
02:07The Armed Forces of the Philippines was also given an additional fund by the Camera,
02:12as well as for the daily subsistence allowance of soldiers
02:16and for the completion of the airport expansion in Pag-asa Island
02:20and shelter ports in Lawak, Palawan.
02:22This is also in support of the Camera
02:25in their strong commitment to safeguarding the West Philippine Sea.
02:29First, House Speaker Martin Romualdez
02:32divided the extra allowance for the soldiers
02:35in recognizing the Camera for their sacrifices
02:38and for the unparalleled service to defend the country
02:42against internal and external threats.
02:45Aside from that, the Camera also added a few more funds
02:48for agricultural projects and for the welfare of the government.
02:53The Camera will submit to the Senate
02:55the final version of the budget they approved,
