00:04the country will compete in the Asia-Pacific Trail Running Championships

00:09that will be held in South Korea this month.

00:12This is Bernadette Pinoy's report.

00:16The Philippine National Trail Running Team is ready to participate in the 2024

00:21Asia-Pacific Trail Running Championships in South Korea

00:25where more than 20 countries will compete in the tournament

00:29Some of the country's best trail runners are Arnie Macarenes and Angelic Cabalo

00:35They say their participation in Baguio helped them a lot

00:38because the climate is cold in the said place.

00:41Two months preparation from the mountains, running,

00:45so we are ready for the game.

00:48For me, my base camp is from Mt. Apo, Kapatagan.

00:52I'm more climatized there, it's cold and the climate is high.

00:57I'm more adapted to the terrain, unlike in South Korea.

01:01For me, I started hiking, so I enjoy the mountains.

01:07It relieves stress, it's fun. It's really nice, it relieves stress.

01:13Coach Christabel Martes believes that the medal will be given to the country

01:18because she showed how good she is in the South East Asia Trail Running Cup

01:22that was held in the country

01:24where the national team was able to secure the top spot with 17 medals.

01:29Give their best in the race because they prepared,

01:32and then in the conditioning stage, it's up to them.

01:36The Philippine team will compete in the upcoming October 23,

01:40which will last until October 27.
