00:00Breeders Cup Friday and Friday is Future Stars Friday, Alexa, that means the five Breeders Cup races are going to be all for the juvenile runners for the future stars of the sport, really exciting and we already know that those races are going to go as races six through 10 in just a couple weeks so we figured let's just do a little check in right now a couple weeks out and take a look at how the fields might be assembled and who some of the major players are.
00:25Yeah, definitely. It's we got to start looking. There's a couple hundred horses going to be running those days so Future Stars Friday is exciting. A lot of these horses are going to be potential contenders in Derby next year. So the first race is the juvenile turf sprint five for lungs for a million dollars and I'm really interested in a European shipper shipper in here.
00:47Asterius. He is so fast and he started six times and won four of them. I watched some of his replays and the thing that really interested me and Pete Pete's the most was his size how much bigger and more fit he is than a lot of these other horses and he is a January full so he does have those extra months of development, which is a big deal and for two year olds.
01:11So Governor Sam has won three in a row. Asterius big mojo. There are a couple of those talented European runners and then a core OC is an undefeated Japanese runner. This is a fun group that will be flying in the juvenile turf sprint. That's going to be the first Breeders Cup race. We see this year. The second one will be the Breeders Cup juvenile Phillies.
01:31And in this one Alexa. I feel like there's kind of a top tier of like three or four. I think immersive non-compliant Scottish lassie. They all won their local Breeders Cup preps and I wouldn't be shocked to see any one of those three really go favored or take a lot of support. I might prefer non-compliant and maybe that's just because I'm a Cal bread myself. So I like all the California runners or the horses who have run in California non-compliant for Baffert was very impressive last time out. So those are the three that are kind of the top tier in there.
02:01Yeah, I agree. I'm really high on immersive but just for context last year. This was won by just FYI who ended up getting second in the Kentucky Oaks. So this is absolutely a really good predictor of these future stars that we can look forward to but immersive is my topic.
02:16The third of the five Breeders Cup Friday races is the Breeders Cup juvenile Phillies turf and in this one we have some questions of some of the European runners who are going to come over or not a horse like Lake Victoria if she were to show up would be very very tough in here and then as far as the you know, the local contingents thought process has been awesome out in Southern California since flipping to the turf.
02:41So those are the two horses kind of at the top of the division, but I want to mention Destino de Oro who had some legitimate trouble last time out and some traffic. I think a lot of people will kind of give that horse a shot painful painful loss in the Jessamine he closed from like last to first but missed it by a nose.
02:58It was awful and this will be the 15th edition of this race and American horses have actually won 11 out of the last 14. So while there's some very convincing European horses in here. We do tend to dominate it. Remember we're going to talk all about all of these races and even more in just a couple weeks on that Wednesday preview show and we'll give you more information on that in just a second.
03:21So Breeders Cup Juvenile will be the next one and in the juvenile. This is the really exciting one because this is when we think about the Kentucky Derby runners next year. We think about horses that could be in triple crown races next year and it feels like you have East Avenue.
03:36Who's really really fast. You have Chancellor McPatrick who's the total opposite end of the spectrum. He's a stone cold closer the very talented Jonathan's way is another one who should be in the mix there but McPatrick and East Avenue. They're probably the top two so far based on what they've done.
03:51Yeah, Bob Baffert has three in here. He's the most winningest trainer of this race winning it five times. I think it's tied with another trainer but out of his contingent. I also like Citizen Bull the best. He won the American Pharaoh at Santa Anita and just seems to be kind of back on the top of this game and then to round it out the last of the five Breeders Cup races on Friday. It's the Breeders Cup juvenile turf towards the top of this group Alexa.
04:18It's all about the European runners. You see the names of those trainers up there at Whistlejacket New Century Alquadra Amore City. Those are all European horses. So whichever of them end up showing up. They're going to be pretty live.
04:29Yeah, I mean routes on the turf is what the Euros do. They're great at it. They wanted the last three years. I didn't know Brian's one of the last two. He was supposed to have two in here. You see Camille Pissarro there on the bottom of the list. But the word is Whistlejackets actually the only one is going to be sending over here. So that's the breaking news there.
