00:00Let's get on over to Gulfstream Park and let's talk about Mr. Prospector.
00:03And Pete, the reason why we picked this race out, we get to look at a Breeders' Cup Classic winner
00:07from 2023, White Aborio, who's the headliner in this race, but we'll meet him in just a moment.
00:12Let's start with Play Me A Tune, the number one who draws the inside. This is the Mr.
00:16Prospector, seven furlongs on the dirt. Why I thought this horse was a tricky read, Pete,
00:21we've never seen him on the dirt. He's been on the synthetic and on the turf.
00:25He's been really talented, but he's done his work up at Woodbine.
00:29He hasn't run in a few months and now he comes down, he draws the rail
00:32in a tough spot on the surface that he's never been. So I think a lot of question marks about him.
00:37Yeah. So I looked into that. I went to DRF formulator and I clicked on the pedigree
00:43profiles and I noticed that the mom of Play Me A Tune's mom was seven for 14 on the dirt.
00:50Yeah.
00:50So what half, I mean, that's 50% wins on the dirt is impressive. The dad, of course,
00:57Sire, Jackie's Warrior, Drain the Clock, Complexity, all classy dirt sprinters.
01:01So I feel like the dirt reading might be there. If he could sit a trip, it's going to be tough
01:06on the inside. Although sometimes they figure out that rail trip or goal stream and then make
01:11that little move. I think he might have a shot at about 12 to one.
01:14Yeah. He should offer you some really nice value. And we know he has a high ceiling if he can
01:19transfer that form over and work out a trip. Kind of an X factor. I'm treating him in this race.
01:23Now you and I both think there's an interesting long shot in the number two, Mr. Skylight.
01:27I liked his race visually last time out. He's going to have to step up. This is a tougher group,
01:32but he's lightly raced and I feel like he's in good form coming off that win.
01:36Yeah. I was a goal stream that day. He had a perfect trip again, but showing that improvement.
01:41I love Riley Mott. He really, you know, was taken after his old man, of course,
01:45the hall of famer at Belmont and he's, and he gets these horses to peak at the right time.
01:50He's rounding to form. Like you said, the last year he's got a race over the track.
01:53He was inside that day. He's going to be inside this day.
01:57Going to have to step up, but I think again, at a price could sneak in there.
02:01Super chow. We kind of know what we're going to get from him. He's very fast. He's a multiple
02:05graded stakes winner. He has won at seven furlongs before, but I feel like he's a little better
02:10going shorter, but you know, you'll get that good speed from him.
02:13Yeah. A hundred percent. And you know, the idea that he, you know, a very classy old,
02:17older horse. I feel like he's an older horse. He's running so many races. He's not that old.
02:22I think he's four, but he's going to go to the lead. Um, you know, he loves it wet. You know,
02:26he needs some wet wetness in that racetrack. It might be a sprinkle at some point on Saturday,
02:33I guess, keep an eye on that, especially if you're going to get somewhere near the
02:35morning line at 20 to one. Yeah. You can upgrade him because he'll be out front winging it. At
02:39least maybe a horse you could use underneath a Gordian knot. We'll move into the Todd
02:43Pletcher barn for the first time. He's a Pennsylvania bred who's great to place.
02:47Most of his best work have come at those Pennsylvania tracks, but Hey,
02:50when you move into the Pletcher barn, you're always going to assume a little bit of improvement.
02:54Yeah, I agree. I think he might need some time to figure this one out. I think he's a cup below,
03:00you know, awful. I think we let him beat us. I think we got to see one from him before we
03:05probably want to, want to warm up to him. Real macho had a couple of good efforts at
03:08Gulfstream park earlier this year. He's kind of a feast or famine horse, but he's done his
03:12best work right here. Yeah. And he's been running with straight three-year-olds the whole year. Now
03:17he steps up with the older horses again, not sure he's fast enough down the road, you know,
03:23maybe, but not, but not, not on Saturday. Mufasa is my son, Milo's pick. Who's now five years old.
03:28He loves this one. I've watched him the Lion King over and over and over again. I initially,
03:33when I handicapped this race, I was thinking about looking at Mufasa. The problem I had Pete,
03:38if you're going to take a shot against white of Barrio, I think you probably want a better price.
03:42And I'm just not sure how good that Vosburgh was, which was his big win. It seemed like kind
03:46of a weaker version of the Vosburgh. So I respect a lot of what he's done, but I think I want a
03:51little more value if I'm trying to go against white of Barrio here. I totally agree. And, you know,
03:56there's a stat out there, the horse, he just, he's coming out of the breeders cup. Of course,
04:00breeders got the best horses in the world will run. They all get together. Horses coming out
04:05of the breeders cup have not been doing well there. I mean, at all. Like, I think there's
04:10maybe one or two wins and you're talking over like 50, 60 horses have run. I think they,
04:15you know, it could be an anomaly. How does that happen? Why does it happen? Maybe you focus on
04:19that major goal, the super bowl, so to speak. And then somehow you have to go play the next week,
04:23you know, or a couple of weeks later, you kind of bounce. He's coming out of that race,
04:28shipping back East. I didn't love the Vosburgh again. Same, same thing you said. I'm going to
04:32try to beat him. And I think he's going to wind up being second choice. El Principito. He just
04:36looks a little bit overmatched. His wins have been against maiden claimers and against first
04:40level allowance. This is just like a big, tough step up for him. Yeah. Doesn't belong was my
04:45comment. Yeah. Little Vic has shown big races. He's a great at stakes winner. He's probably one
04:50of the major speeds in here. Yeah. I think little Vic is going to help get maybe one of my long
04:56shots. And I think he's going to show some speed, speed it up with Mr. Chow, super chow, Mr. Chow,
05:02Mr. Chow, Mr. Chow is a good spot. And so, yeah, but I don't, yeah, he could surprise from time
05:08to time a little bit, but I don't think, I think it's a little bit too much to ask for.
05:12And then we have a luminaire who was an impressive winner last time out. He's won three of his four.
05:17I'm a little worried that he might get over bet because on paper, he looks like a real interesting
05:22horse. And I'm again, I'm not sure how tough some of the company he's beat, but I respect the heck
05:27out of him. And in particular, the connections. Yeah, I agree. He will be over bet. I think I
05:33also think, yeah, same thing. He looked, he won last time. He was supposed to win.
05:37The field wasn't that great. It's Pletcher. You know, I just, I think he's going to,
05:42with Saez up, he's going to keep him a little closer and might get wind up into that little
05:46speed duel. I'm going to try to beat him again. I think we got to try to beat the second, third
05:51or fourth choices here. Especially if we were going to play wide of Aria, who looks so good
05:55in here, the Florida Derby winner, the Breeders' Cup classic winner. He came back to Gulfstream
05:59park where he has his home base and he just looked good. He's six for seven at Gulfstream.
06:04And as you were pointing out with the Breeders' Cup, they took a different approach with him.
06:07They went to a softer race to kind of get that confidence back up. And now I think he's going
06:12back in the right direction after a couple of disappointing races this year. This was your
06:162023 Breeders' Cup classic winner. His ceiling is so high. Yeah. I mean, he loves Gulfstream.
06:22He's five for six of Gulfstream on the Florida Derby. A couple of years ago, this is his home
06:26track and they're doing the exactly the right, the right way to, you know, get this horse down
06:31the road, running these seven furlongs. This is like an old school move they used to do in the
06:35old days. Easy goers. I remember they used to run at seven furlongs before they stretched out. But
06:39bottom line is I always like to try to beat the favorite. I just can't see it. He's in, he's
06:44already in good form and he should have sit an absolute dream trip with Irad Ortiz. The key is
06:49if you can't beat the favorite and you still want to try to find value in the race, can we find some
06:54horses underneath that are big prices? You think Shaq Diesel has a little bit of a shot and even
06:59the outside horse, Carmel Chip, I'm a Laker fan. I love the big daddy, Shaq Diesel. Talk to us about
07:05these outside couple and why you would use them underneath. Yeah, well, here's the way, it's all
07:09about pace makes the race, right? I think Super Chow, Little Vic, maybe Illuminair, they're all
07:15gonna eventually hook up mid-race and I hope for the pace to get really hot. And anybody close to
07:22it is gonna fall back. And if that's the case, White Abario makes his move, opens up, and now I
07:27just want the horses to come try to get a piece, to try to suck up the pieces down the lane.
07:33Shaq Diesel has a nice closing kick. Carmel Chip does as well. They're gonna be huge prices. They're
07:3930 to 1 on the morning line. I could see, I just see the race kind of falling apart from a pace
07:44scenario and maybe some of these can suck up second and third. Let's take a look at the selections for
07:49this one. Pete's gonna put White Abario on top of some prices that he'll use in the Super.
07:54Be a little more logical underneath, but we're both gonna key in on White Abario.
