00:00What's up guys, let's revisit the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
00:03This is such a fantastic phone
00:05and one of my number one recommendations.
00:07This and the Note20 Ultra.
00:11But this one in particular is just really, really nice guys.
00:14Like if I didn't have any phones
00:16and I was just getting into like
00:18trying to find an old flagship,
00:19I would 100% get this phone over any phone.
00:23So I wanna go into why that is.
00:26Let's start off with the price.
00:27You can find these in excellent condition
00:29for $359, I think eBay currently has the best price.
00:34Amazon pretty much has the same price as well too actually.
00:38So yeah, so you can find this phone roughly 360 bucks.
00:42This is such a fantastic buy guys.
00:45And I wanna start off actually with the design.
00:47The design is what really makes this phone special.
00:51So for a big phone like this with a 6.8 inch display,
00:56as you can see with an S23 Ultra,
00:59the S23 has a more boxy, sharper sort of design
01:04and it's not super comfortable in the hand.
01:07Now Samsung has sort of like,
01:09they know that and they kind of like made
01:12the edges of this phone a little bit more boxier,
01:15easier to hold, but it still doesn't make it
01:17to where it's not cutting into the palm.
01:21The S21 Ultra, it actually is super smooth.
01:25That's one thing that I kind of miss
01:26about the S series in general
01:27before Samsung just kind of merged it with the Note.
01:31It's very easy to hold, man.
01:33Even if you have small hands, it's very easy to hold.
01:36And since this is like curving right here,
01:39it fits in the palm really well.
01:41So you don't have to worry about it
01:42kind of being uncomfortable.
01:44That is the number one thing I love about this phone.
01:46I think the design has still aged really well.
01:48You can see Samsung got rid of this,
01:50you know, camera cutout right here,
01:53but it's still a really nice looking design.
01:55I think it still has that kind of cool sci-fi
01:58look to it as well too.
02:00And then you also have a matte finish on here as well.
02:02So you can't really see the fingerprints
02:05and it's IP68 dust and water resistant.
02:06And a lot of people forget,
02:08this phone actually does have pin support.
02:10So I'll show you guys.
02:12Now you can buy like a special case for it,
02:14but it has pin support.
02:16It does the same thing that the S23 does.
02:21So you can use the pin support on here just fine.
02:24All right, so let's talk about the display
02:25a little bit here.
02:26So big display at 6.8 inches.
02:29It is a slightly curved display,
02:31but the thing I like about this phone in particular
02:33is that it's not like aggressively curved,
02:37like let's say like a S22 Ultra or something like that.
02:40It's just a slight curve, which I think
02:42it still looks really good.
02:44It has that premium, you know, feel to it.
02:46From rumors that we're hearing,
02:47Samsung is actually going completely flat
02:50this year with the S24.
02:52But this display is really, really nice, guys.
02:54It's a 6.8 inch dynamic AMOLED display.
02:57It's 120 Hertz and it's full 1440p as well too.
03:01It's 515 for the PPI, HDR 10,
03:041500 nits peak brightness on here.
03:07So in direct sunlight, it's still gonna look really good.
03:10The reason why I really like this phone
03:13is because I like to recommend this and the Note,
03:16but the thing about the Note is that
03:17you can actually use the Note's display
03:20in 1440p with 120 Hertz.
03:23This phone, you can completely use it,
03:25you know, 120 Hertz, 1440p, and it looks beautiful.
03:29Everything's super sharp, icons, all that,
03:31super sharp, great color, punch hole in the middle.
03:35It is a fantastic display.
03:36And like I said, the number one thing here,
03:38and again, for people with smaller hands,
03:40is that it's easy to hold, guys.
03:42It's much, much more easier to hold than the Note
03:46or any type of, you know, boxy phone.
03:49So that's what I really like about the display on here.
03:53Now, I think the number one selling point with this phone
03:55honestly has to be that this phone is getting Android 14
04:00and it's getting Android 15 as well, too,
04:03and it will get security patches after that.
04:06So this phone has still a pretty long lifespan,
04:09even considering the fact that it came out in 2021
04:12and we're going into 2024.
04:14It's still going to get, you know,
04:16two major OS updates and security patches as well, too.
04:21It is absolutely phenomenal.
04:23Like, I'm really excited about that.
04:26I hope, hopefully Samsung keeps increasing
04:28the software support for older phones,
04:31but this thing is not slowing down by any means.
04:33It is blazing fast.
04:36It is just super fast.
04:37You guys can see just like scrolling and stuff like that,
04:39opening up web browsers.
04:42It's just super, super fast.
04:43It feels like, it doesn't feel any different
04:46from the S23 Ultra, in my opinion.
04:48Software-wise, like I said, everything is here.
04:50The pen support is here, desktop support is here,
04:53reverse wireless charging, secure folders,
04:55everything is here.
04:56So you're legit not missing out on anything.
04:59Now, when it comes to gaming and stuff like that,
05:03this phone has actually gotten better with age.
05:05So this phone, when it came out,
05:07it wasn't compatible with 90 frames for PUBG,
05:10but now we have 90 frames on PUBG now,
05:13and it feels just like, you know,
05:15playing on the S23 Ultra, honestly.
05:18It's super smooth, and as you guys can see,
05:22it is just an excellent experience with gaming.
05:24Now, I will say this.
05:26This phone, it does heat up a little bit more
05:29than I would like compared to something like the S23,
05:32but I've never had this thing actually crash on me.
05:35And remember, there are two models.
05:36You have the Snapdragon model and the Exynos model,
05:39so I've never been able to use the Exynos model.
05:42But this is the Snapdragon AAA processor,
05:45128 gigs of internal storage, 12 gigs of RAM,
05:48on the base model, and it does a phenomenal job with gaming.
05:52So if you're on a budget, you wanna play PUBG
05:55or pretty much any game, Call of Duty, Fortnite,
05:57and you wanna play competitively,
05:59this is a good phone for that.
06:02Like I said, it does get a little bit warmer
06:04than I would like, but again,
06:06I've never had any performance problems.
06:09I've never had it crash on me or anything like that.
06:12Actually, it's a phenomenal phone for gaming,
06:16I have to say.
06:17I've never had an issue,
06:17just overall, super fast phone.
06:19Let's check out these speakers at max volume.

06:31So, the speakers are pretty good on here, a good amount of bass, they're actually
06:44better than the S22 Ultra speakers, which I think some Samsungs were speakers, but the
06:50speakers still sound pretty good on here for the most part.
06:54Good amount of bass, it sounds pretty clear.
07:00This phone also has the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner on it as well too.
07:03You also have the face unlock you can take advantage of as well.
07:07So the cameras on the S21 Ultra are still pretty good in my opinion.
07:12I did a comparison with the cameras on here in the S23 and a lot of people were pretty
07:18impressed with the cameras on this phone.
07:21I think it still gives a really good amount of detail, pretty good color, great dynamic
07:26range, pretty decent low light shots as well too.
07:29The selfie camera is pretty decent as well.
07:31Overall, I did not have an issue with the images on here.
07:35I don't think anybody would take pictures with this phone and have an issue with image
07:39quality.
07:40I mean, it still looks extremely good.
07:42It has a 108 megapixel main sensor so you get a lot of detail.
07:47And then you also have a 10 megapixel periscope telephoto, it has 10x optical.
07:51And then a 10 megapixel telephoto as well that has 3x zoom and then you have a 12 megapixel
07:57ultrawide, it shoots in 8K 24 and then you have a 40 megapixel selfie camera that shoots
08:02in 4K 60.
08:04Video on here is really good, I legit have zero complaints with the cameras on here.
08:10Like I said, it pretty much still has a very modern camera setup.
08:14You still have excellent zoom quality, you have the 100x zoom and stuff like that.
08:19It takes excellent photos at 10x, even 30x, it still gives out a really good shot.
08:24The cameras are still really good.
08:26Zero complaints with the cameras.
08:27All right, so battery life is just okay on this phone.
08:31It's not anything too crazy and to be honest, Samsung really didn't make any type of good
08:37battery leap with their flagships until the S23 Ultra.
08:41So just recently we got really good battery life on these Samsung flagships.
08:47But the S21 Ultra, it's got a 5000 milliamp hour battery, it's got 25 watt wire charging
08:53which honestly is kind of slow for 2023.
08:57Most phones, Samsung now has 45 watts which is interesting because the Note 10 Plus I
09:03believe has 45 watts but this one didn't get it.
09:06But yeah, it's got reverse wireless charging on here so you can charge your headphones
09:12on the back of these or something like that.
09:15Battery life is just okay.
09:16It's like 6 hours of screen on time, it's technically a full day but this is one of
09:20those phones where if you were doing a lot of gaming and stuff like that, you're definitely
09:23going to have to charge it.
09:26But besides that, it's an actual phenomenal phone and the price is just going to keep
09:30coming down and it's just a great buy considering that the cameras are still good, design is
09:35still excellent, display, processor is still good, it's getting updates.
09:40So if you have one of these, you know, and you're thinking about upgrading, honestly
09:45I would hold it until you really feel like it's worth an upgrade.
09:48I would probably hold it until like Galaxy S26 or something like that, not S, yeah S26.
