00:00What's up guys, today I wanted to compare the S21 FE to the S21 Plus.
00:05These are two very popular phones that a lot of you guys have a lot of questions about
00:09and it is a bit confusing because you would think that these phones are very similar and
00:12they are pretty similar but they do have some actual very big differences that I want to
00:17go ahead and discuss and it is very confusing because online you pretty much can find these
00:22for the same price.
00:23I mean S21 Plus 258 certified refurbished very good condition and then you see over
00:30here 255 for the FE in very good condition as well too.
00:34So it can be a little bit confusing to sort of figure out which one should you get.
00:39So I'm going to go ahead and give you the pros and cons and what's different about each
00:43one.
00:44Alright so let's go ahead and talk about the actual build quality because I think this
00:47will stand out the most.
00:50Now I like the design of both of these phones but the S21 Plus has a more premium feel to
00:56it.
00:57It's a full glass and metal phone and the S21 FE it does have a plastic back but it
01:01does have the metal sides on here.
01:04So it doesn't feel cheap but you definitely can tell that this is a more premium feeling
01:10phone in the hands for sure and I really love the design on both of these phones.
01:14They pretty much have the same design besides you know this having a plastic back.
01:18Now they both have this matte finish so they both don't pick up fingerprints and stuff
01:21like that so that's something that I really like.
01:23They both have pretty much the same body so very comfortable to hold and they are not
01:29the same size.
01:30The S21 Plus is definitely a little bit bigger.
01:33It's about the same in thickness as well too.
01:36Now the screens on these two phones are about the same honestly.
01:40They are both 120Hz HDR10 Plus and the biggest difference here is that the S21 Plus has a
01:486.7 inch screen so as you can see it's slightly bigger and the S21 FE has a 6.4 inch display
01:55so basically you would pick one based on is it easier to hold so do you like big phones
02:01or small phones.
02:02The S21 FE would be a little bit easier to hold since it has a smaller display.
02:07But they are both 1080p and honestly they both look the same.
02:11You know same punch hole pretty much.
02:13So honestly not a big difference when it comes to display quality here.
02:18They both have really nice displays and they both do a really good job outdoors in direct
02:22sunlight as well too.
02:24Pretty bright displays.
02:25I think the S21 Plus has 1300 nits and the S21 FE has 1200 nits max brightness.
02:33Again which is not that big of a difference.
02:34So the screens are pretty much identical.
02:37Alright so here is a big difference here and it might be a big difference for you it just
02:42depends.
02:43So the S21 FE launched with Android 12 which means that this phone will get up to Android
02:4916.
02:50This one launched with Android 11 which means it will get Android 15.
02:54So you will have one more year of major OS update for the S21 FE.
02:59For those who are really concerned about software updates and stuff like that you will get an
03:04extra year of major OS updates with this phone which is really nice and then they
03:08will have security patches after that.
03:12Basically as far as the software goes I mean they pretty much run the same software so
03:16pretty much everything is still here that you would find on the S21 Plus is on the FE.
03:21Samsung desktop support, reverse wireless charging, secure folders, you know basically
03:28everything that you would want.
03:30So they have all these flagship features for basically $250.
03:34So that's why I absolutely love the S21 lineup this year.
03:37It's a lot of value this year for super super cheap.
03:41Alright so when it comes to overall the gaming quality and stuff like that it's again virtually
03:47the same and that's why I highly recommend you pick these phones up if you are somebody
03:51on the budget that really likes to game.
03:53So basically both these phones have the Snapdragon 888 processor.
03:57Only difference is the base model on the S21 Plus is 8 gigs 128 and this one is 6 gigs
04:04128.
04:05But when it comes to gaming quality and just overall performance on these two phones it's
04:10going to be virtually the same guys.
04:11You can play PUBG on here, you know HDR extreme if you want to and yeah so I was trying to
04:21see if like the S21 Plus would be a little bit better optimized but it's not.
04:26So it literally plays the same as the S21 FE.
04:32So again no big difference there when it comes to gaming quality.
04:37And like I said overall speed they both feel the same.
04:39I didn't notice a big difference in heating and stuff like that so like I said they're
04:43pretty similar in terms of performance it's just they're both really fast phones though.
04:51So again you're not really choosing based off of gaming performance and speed because
04:56they are pretty much going to feel the same.
04:58Alright so I'm going to show you guys the side by side comparison of the photos and
05:04video.
05:05This is where I think the second biggest difference comes in.
05:08The S21 Plus can take advantage of having that higher resolution camera.
05:14So let's just go over the specs real quick.
05:17So the S21 Plus has a 12 megapixel standard 64 megapixel telephoto lens.
05:22It does 3x zoom on here and then we also have a 12 megapixel ultrawide it shoots in 8K 24
05:30and then a 10 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4K 60.
05:34The S21 FE it does have a 12 megapixel standard then an 8 megapixel telephoto so it doesn't
05:39have that 64 megapixel camera.
05:42So basically all that means is that you're going to get high res shots on the S21 Plus
05:47and then 12 megapixel ultrawide it doesn't shoot in 8K it only shoots in 4K 60 and you
05:52have a 32 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K 60.
05:55So check out these side by side stills let me know if you guys see you know a big difference

07:17Now notice in this mode I can't really get to the ultrawide at all there's no ultrawide
07:23option here.
07:24But I can do the 3x zoom but I can't do ultrawide in full HD but let me know if you see a big
07:34difference in image quality.
07:36Alright so let's talk about the additional features here they're both IP68 dust and water
07:41resistant.
07:42They both have the under the display fingerprint sensor which pretty much feels the same as
07:46well.
07:47They both can do face unlock and also they both have stereo speakers which we can go
07:52ahead and check out.
07:53Alright so we'll start with the FE.
08:24I mean honestly they pretty much sound the same.
08:32They both have really good speakers pretty good bass quality.
08:35Honestly can't really tell that big of a difference from speaker quality here.
08:39Alright and lastly battery life again not a big difference here.
08:44The S21 Plus has a 4800 mAh battery.
08:48The S21 FE has a 4500 mAh battery.
08:52They both only do 25 watt charging.
08:54They both do wireless and reverse wireless charging and they both do a very good job
08:58with battery life.
08:59I'm able to get easily a full day of use out of both of these phones.
09:03So yeah not that big of a difference here.
09:06I think the main difference here is one the hardware right.
09:09You get a more premium feel with the S21 Plus and also you get a higher resolution camera
09:15as well too.
09:17You also get with the S21 FE you just get that longer software update.
09:23So you do get that extra year of major OS update.
09:27But that's pretty much it.
09:28I would definitely pick the S21 Plus personally but I could definitely see if you wanted that
09:38major OS update because there is not a massive massive difference between these two phones.
09:44I think most people will put a case on their phone anyway so I don't know it just depends.
