00:00Hello there welcome to a Wednesday evening weather update from the Met
00:03Office. Through the next 24 hours we have a strong southerly wind delivering mild
00:08conditions across most of the UK. So windy already through Wednesday evening
00:14across the northwest with weather fronts close by but notice these isobars here a
00:19little closer together through Thursday bringing in that warmth from the south
00:23so if you catch some sunshine temperatures in the south could reach 18
00:27degrees Celsius 15 towards the north and these fronts gradually make inroads
00:31as we head through to Friday. For the time being you see where the strongest
00:36winds are Irish sea coast nor channel western coast as well. Now further south
00:40some starry skies and because the winds picking up a little bit we won't have
00:44the visibility problems we've seen through the last few nights certainly
00:47with low cloud and fog. At the same time though this cloud could be thick enough
00:52across Scotland for a little bit of patchy rain as this main rain band just
00:57nudges close by towards the Western Isles as we head into Thursday morning.
01:02Now under clear skies towards the south temperatures 8 or 9 degrees Celsius but
01:06notice across Scotland and Northern Ireland holding around 12 or 13 so it's
01:10a very mild start to the day come Thursday morning but it's also a windy
01:15one and also rather cloudy. We'll see some sunshine across England and Wales
01:19as the cloud breaks and just drifts across the sky and in shelter across the
01:23north and east of Scotland Northern Ireland as well seeing some brighter
01:26skies through the morning into the afternoon. So it's a lovely day to be out
01:30and about but watch out for that wind always strong particularly through the
01:33morning we may lose the sting in the wind through the afternoon as this cloud
01:37and rain just encroaches across the Western Isles and we could see some just
01:41moving in across counties Tyrone as well as Fermanagh. Elsewhere it's a dry end to
01:47the day as temperatures arrive around 15 towards Western Scotland 16 for Wales
01:5218 for the southeast of England 15 or 16 for Northern Ireland. So that's the
01:57picture through tomorrow afternoon. Through tomorrow evening and overnight we
02:02hang on to the breeze so temperatures still on the mild side but notice this
02:06cloud and rain gradually pushing across mainland Scotland covering Northern
02:10Ireland, North West England as well as the Midlands seeing some into Friday
02:15morning and this band of rain here even though it's fairly narrow towards the
02:19south we could actually see some some more intense bursts as we head through
02:23the first part of the day and it slowly pushes ever eastwards turning showery
02:27towards the southwest. So most places seeing some wet weather on Fridays
02:32temperatures arrive around 13 to 16 Celsius so lower than Thursday. Now come
02:37Saturday another band of clouds and rain moves in from the northwest we hang on
02:41to some brighter and drier skies further south as well as east and the winds again
02:45will be a feature towards more northern and western areas where that rain could
02:49be quite persistent showers ahead of it ahead of it across the north of England
02:54as well as Wales and some brighter skies further south and southeast
02:57temperatures here 14 or 15 degrees Celsius. I'll see you later
