00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.
00:03A famous bridge in a Derbyshire town has reopened again after repairs were carried out with
00:08thousands of love locks being removed from the structure.
00:11Bakewell's Weir footbridge was reopened by Derbyshire County Council following repairs
00:15and general refurbishment work.
00:18A spokesperson for the local authority said,
00:20The 25-year-old footbridge spans the river Weye close to Bakewell town centre and was
00:25showing signs of corrosion to the steel structure and wear and tear to the pedestrian walkway.
00:31We still have a bit of work to finish off, but this can be done while the bridge is open.
00:36We have worked with the Save the Love Locks group to carefully remove the padlocks from
00:40the bridge to enable the work to be carried out.
00:42We'd like to thank the group and congratulate them on finding a new home for the locks at
00:47Thornbridge Hall.
00:51A kind-hearted company boss from Chesterfield has vowed to give all his staff a £1000 bonus
00:57after winning the People's Postcode Lottery.
01:00Chris Dell, who is 61, broke down as he made the pledge to his 10 employees after being
01:05presented with a bumper £100,000 cheque.
01:08The self-storage firm owner said,
01:10I'm going to treat the staff at work, especially with that amount, because we're a close
01:14team and it would be nice to put a smile on their faces.
01:17We've got 10 people in the team and £10,000 of it will go to them.
01:21They'll get £1,000 each.
01:23People might say, why would you do that?
01:25It's because we are a team.
01:27Chris celebrated his win-fall with 17 neighbours in Newbold after they bagged the People's
01:31Weekly Postcode Millionaire Street Lottery on Saturday.
01:35Each ticket was worth £50,000, but Chris and one of his neighbours doubled their prizes
01:39by buying two tickets.
01:42You're joking.
01:43I'm not.
01:45I'm going to treat the staff at work, especially with that amount, because we're a close team
01:53at work.
01:54It would be nice to put a smile on their faces.
01:57Have a holiday.
01:58Most probably Benidorm.
01:59My best friend lives in France and he'll be coming too.
02:04Oh my God.
02:11We signed up primarily because Mark's ex-wife won the Lottery.
02:15A couple of years after that, Mark's daughter's mother-in-law won the Lottery with two tickets
02:21and that's when I said, I want two tickets now.
02:24Or we're going to York Outlet Village Shopping to buy some new Doc Martens.
02:30Yeah, you love your Doc Martens, don't you, sweetheart?
02:34And Mark's been after an e-bike, so because he keeps complaining, I'll leave him behind
02:39Oh my God, oh my God, oh that's crazy, that's legitimately crazy.
02:52Probably setting ourselves up for the future, it's not the answer nobody wants sort of thing.
02:56Probably a nice holiday.
02:57Oh wow, that's amazing, thank you so much.
03:04We're going to treat our kids, let them have a good Christmas.
03:08And I think we're saving up for a house, so some will go towards a deposit for a house
03:14and some.
03:15Three, two, one, go!
03:21It's going to be going towards a new patio and a holiday and two teenage girls learning
03:26to drive.
03:27We're having a new wardrobe full of clothes, handbags, shoes, perfume, I'll buy my daughter
03:33exactly the same.
03:34We may have one golf club.
