00:00It was presented by the Permanent Observatory on Abortion during a press conference at the Senate's Nasiriyah room,
00:10the third report on the costs of induced abortion and its effects on women's health.
00:15The appointment by the title between clandestinity and indifference has seen the participation of illustrious experts and professionals in the field of health and bioethics,
00:23who have had the opportunity to debate on the issue from a health, economic and social point of view.
00:28This year, as always, we have updated our estimates on the financial costs of Law 194,
00:34which we were the first to estimate, because before there were no such assessments, we updated them in 2022.
00:41The last year available for data was in 2022 and we estimated a cost of around 60 million euros.
00:49We also update the estimate of the cumulative cost of the 44 years of update, of application of the law.
00:57The report represents a monitoring tool regarding the application of Law 194, which has been regulating abortion in Italy since 1978.
01:06This proposes to deepen relevant issues by answering questions about the current situation in Italy
01:12and also aims to provide statistical data on the incidence of abortions in the country.
01:17This report has shown that Law 194, in these 44 years, the latest data available in 2022,
01:27has had a considerable cost, in economic terms.
01:31It has had a considerable cost in terms of complications with respect to women's health.
01:38It has not eliminated the plague of clandestine abortions.
01:43It has not improved maternal mortality.
01:48In addition, it has caused the termination of the lives of millions of children.
01:57So, human costs, economic costs, social costs, what are the benefits?
02:02The conference in the Senate therefore marked a crucial stage in the dialogue regarding abortion and its implications.
02:08A topic that arouses a political debate in Italy and highlights not only the economic costs of abortion,
02:14but also the long-term effects on women's health and well-being.
02:18Now, everyone can understand, even those who are not doctors,
02:21that if abortion in an adult woman after 30-34 years is only 12-14%, the spontaneous one,
02:29how is it possible that in an age range where there are no pathologies that can justify such a high prevalence?
02:42The explanation is simple.
02:44It is an abortion you do on your own.
02:46The other aspect, on the other hand, concerns the eugenic abortion,
02:49which in the last 30 years has gone from 0.5% to 6.5%, increasing 12 times.
02:56Why is this?
02:58What is the answer to the relationship?
03:00So, all this world of ignorance, or in any case of lies,
03:05must be debunked with numbers, with evidence,
03:08because the ancients used to say,
03:10contra factum, non valet argumentum.
