00:00I'm coming to you today from my utility where I do all my washing because I want to talk
00:09to you about this, tallow and ash. You might have seen them on your Instagram or TikTok
00:16or other social media pages. I've been influenced, I'm into my fragrances, they market heavily
00:25on designer, fragrance inspired, they call them shampoos and conditioners for your clothes,
00:34that's how they actually call them rather than a detergent. It's all that kind of cosmetic
00:40kind of language that they use. Anyway, I wanted to give them a go so I bought the Discovery
00:47set which I think is five different flavours that you've got there and so I tried them
00:55out throughout the week, this is how I got on.
01:13I just want to begin by saying that I really, really, really wanted to like this product
01:21because I'm into my fragrances, I'm a marketer's dream, it's something new, it's something
01:28novel and they are very pretty to look at. I like the idea of the fact that you can get
01:35refills, it's eco, it's meant to be, you know, no harsh chemicals in there, it's all vegan,
01:44you know, it's ticking all of the green boxes. So I really, really wanted to check it out
01:51and I've got to say that it only took her about two days for it to be delivered which
01:55I was impressed by. It comes beautifully packaged, you do get a free wash bag which I haven't
02:01used but you get it anyway and yeah, you get to, rather than buying a big amount, you can
02:09get to try these smaller ones. So throughout the week I have done multiple amounts of washing
02:16as you can imagine. I've got a seven-year-old, I'm a husband who does lots of sport and a
02:22dog that is being toilet trained. So we've done everything, we've done bedding, we've
02:26done sportswear, school uniform, we've done tea towels, you name it, I have washed it
02:33this week and yeah, I've been through all the samples very quickly. My first impression
02:40is that yes, beautifully packaged, it looks great, the colours, you know, everything's,
02:47you know, date night, duvet day, oud, odyssey, all these kind of, you know, really nice buzzwords.
02:58So ripped open the sachets, you put them, not in, I'm used to using pods but you don't
03:04know, you put it in the traditional drawer that you pull out at the top of your washing
03:08machine and then you put the shampoo in the first slot, the detergent slot and then the
03:15conditioner which is your fabric softener into that respective spot. So what can I tell
03:22you? They do smell nice, obviously that's down to personal preference. My favourite
03:31was the first one which I believe, and I've written it down, oh I haven't actually written
03:37it down but I believe it was odyssey and that's meant to be inspired by creed and chanel
03:42blue, so it is a more masculine flavour, sorry scent. Some of the other ones, aurora is based
03:50on flower bomb, it says on the website, date night is tom ford lost cherry, so it's all
03:55these very popular fragrances. Some of the more feminine ones, well I'm guessing are
04:01more feminine, they were a little bit sweet for me. One of them is based on the baccarat
04:10rouge I believe is very popular at the minute. I'm not going to say it doesn't smell like
04:15that because I believe it does but maybe a little bit sweet for me. What I found was
04:23that the smells don't seem to last very long and I think some materials hold the smell
04:33better, so sports tops or anything that's dry fit kind of material doesn't seem to pick
04:40it up as much as a cotton t-shirt would. A few days after my pack had been delivered
04:47I got an email from the company saying, oh you're better to air dry than to tumble dry
04:52because the heat can be a negative on the fragrances which I didn't know and I had tumble
05:01dried but yes, air drying does seem to be better for the fragrances. I don't think they're
05:06that long lasting and I would think the way it's marketed and the way that they're aiming
05:11is for kind of you know, the bougie girl who really isn't that interested in whether it's
05:17going to get your kids grass stains off a sports kit, she's more interested in the smells
05:22and the designer labels, that kind of thing, that's how it comes across. Would I buy it
05:26again? I'm not going to say no because I did like the smells, if I were to buy a bottle
05:34I think I'd put more in than what they give you in the sachets just to see if that would
05:39have a bigger impact but of course that's costing you more. I'm not going to buy it
05:44again immediately, it might be you know, the odd time that I would buy it. Go and check
05:50it out for yourself, I'm glad I tried it, the customer service side of things seems
05:55to be very good, it looks great, it's environmentally friendly but I think if you're looking to
06:03use it for your everyday, perhaps not.
