00:00The financial and insurance knowledge of the Italians is not enough, to say the least,
00:09are the data emerged from the third edition of Edufin Index, the observatory on the awareness
00:13on the financial and insurance behavior of the Italians, at the heart of Allianza Assicurazioni,
00:18company of Generali Italia, and carried out with the participation of Fondazione Mario
00:22Gasparri and the scientific collaboration of SDA Bocconi.
00:25The results of the observatory, based on a sample of 4,000 interviewees, with a particular focus
00:30on the situation of women and young people, show the need to improve the level of
00:34financial and insurance education of the Italians, today blocked by an insufficient 56 out of 100.
00:40The Edufin Index 2024 confirms a gender gap of around 5 points in favor of women,
00:45a geographic gap between north and south of about 4 points, and a generation gap that sees
00:50very young people, 18-24 years old, with scores of about 7 points lower than those of adults.
00:56Young people need to have a greater desire for the future and we firmly believe that
01:05financial education is a step in this direction, because in the end the use of savings is
01:13precisely this bridge between the present and the future.
01:16On the occasion of the presentation of the results of the Edufin Index 2024, the Edufin
01:22Index Women Award was also given to its first edition.
01:25Financial education is a central element for an exercise full of citizenship rights.
01:30This is why we wanted to award three realities of equal merit, for their capacity for social
01:36innovation, for having put at the center of their own initiatives of women's financial
01:43development and also for the impact they had on projects.
01:47Compared to previous generations, Generation Z has a higher level of financial socialization.
01:52Moreover, compared to the past, parents devote more time to financial education to their children.
01:57Fortunately, we are starting to do something at school.
02:02We have families who are trying to replace where school has not intervened, but we are
02:08in a situation that must be resolved as soon as possible.
02:12For this reason, school and digital can help us.
02:17We have to do something.
02:18Central in promoting the financial education of young people is the involvement of schools,
02:22as provided by the Capital Law.
02:24What we are doing, in support of this innovation within the school, is to follow,
02:32as the insurance alliance, together with the Italian Association of Financial Educators,
02:36a project, already in this school year, where we are going to bring, let's say, to put
02:41into practice our skills as a private institution that works with the public sector, and therefore
02:47to put into practice our skills and support teachers in their training and the boys
02:52to have all the answers, waiting for this innovation to take place in a complete way.
