00:00The labor market of the country is expected to be better after President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. passed a law
00:09that is expected to strengthen the ability of Filipino workers to face the challenges of the jobs mismatch.
00:16BN Manalo is in the center of the news.
00:21Manolito Rojas has been a factory worker for more than two years in Navotas.
00:25But because of his kidney disease and his desire to increase his income, he left the company he was working for
00:33and joined TESDA and got refrigeration and air conditioning servicing or DOMRACA.
00:39It's a big help for someone like me who didn't finish school.
00:45After I finish this, I can increase my work and my salary will increase.
00:52I'm thankful to the government for passing this law because it's a big help for someone like me who didn't finish school
01:03but there's a chance that they can become a skilled worker.
01:07Good news for someone like Manolito.
01:09Because President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. passed the Enterprise-Based Education and Training or EBET Framework Act today,
01:18it proves that the dedication and contribution of various sectors in strengthening technical vocational education
01:26and enterprise-based training programs will not be forgiven.
01:29It aims to address the job skills mismatch, reduce unemployment and underemployment,
01:35and ensure that all Filipino workers are globally competitive and ready for any changes in the labor market.
01:42This law directly addresses the issues of the lack of formal training and skilled mismatches,
01:48ensuring that every Filipino can contribute and benefit from our nation's growth.
01:55This legislative milestone is based on the advocacy of the government
02:00to strengthen, improve and unify the various ways of enterprise-based training under one framework.
02:08Meanwhile, the President approved the positive results of the Labor Force Survey conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority.
02:15According to the PSA, the employment rate increased by 96.3% in September from 95.5% in the same month last year,
02:25while the unemployment rate decreased by 3.7% from 4.5% compared to last year.
02:32Through this act, we will harness private sector partnerships to align our training programs with real-world industry needs.
02:42Through this law, the government and private sectors will be more stable in providing training to Filipino workers
02:51who are able to meet the needs of the environment and create a brighter and better future for all Filipinos.
