00:00Even though the country has been evacuated, some places are still experiencing the loss due to the typhoon Mika.
00:06Like in Tuguegarao, which is being closely monitored by possible flash floods and landslides.
00:11Aside from that, the LGU is also preparing for the effects of the typhoon Ophel.
00:16This is Dina Villa Campana, Radyo Pilipinas, for Balitang Pambansa.
00:21The Operations Center of the Incident Management Team of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council of Cagayan is now located in Tuguegarao.
00:31This is for the quick response team to move quickly to the areas that are affected by the typhoon Mika.
00:38In the southern part of the province, it is experiencing floods due to the heavy rain not only in Cagayan but also in Upper Cagayan River.
00:46According to PDRRM Hoel Rueli Rapsing, at times like this, the level of water in the province is expected to rise.
00:53He is a water collector in the upstream.
00:56Even in other rivers in the province, the water level has risen.
01:00In fact, flash floods have already hit the town of Gonzaga and other places in the province
01:05due to the fact that the rescue operations are still unable to respond to the forced evacuation.
01:12The biggest concern for now is that there will be another flash flood tomorrow because it may reach the area that was hit by Mika.
01:21That's why for now, these people are preparing the so-called flash flood.
01:25The biggest concern for these people is that the province may experience another flash flood
01:31where almost all the towns in the province are submerged in floodwaters.
01:35We're so busy monitoring other areas, not just Cagayan River.
01:40If you have heard, we have a flash flood in Gonzaga.
01:44We also have floods in Gataran, Alacapan, Santo Niño.
01:50And then we're also monitoring Tuao.
01:53And we're into response operations in Bagao.
01:57If there is anything that the PDRRMO can be thankful for now,
02:00it is the hard work of the residents in calling for rescue
02:04and asking to join or go to the evacuation center.
02:08He hopes that this will continue in the next flash flood
02:11because this is the only way to keep people away from danger.
02:16Hopefully, we can continue like this.
02:18Every time we have a bad time,
02:22you should go to our evacuation centers
02:27because that's the only method for now that we can say is safest.
02:34According to the PDRRMO Cagayan,
02:373,843 families with 12,220 people were evacuated
02:44from the 22 towns affected by the flash flood.
02:49From Radyo Pilipinas Tuguegarao, Dina Tudau Villa Campa, Balitang Pambansa.
