00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest MetEovis forecast. It was an unsettled weekend as Storm
00:06Burt brought some strong winds, damaging gusts of wind as well as some flooding across parts
00:11of the U.K. Looking at the bigger picture, Burt is only just slowly pulling away over
00:15the next 24 hours, high pressure replacing it as we head towards Tuesday. So, winds falling
00:20much lighter for all of us. So, it's an unsettled start to the day, heavy rain clearing southeast
00:26England, blustery winds across many areas, but the day ahead is generally a mixture
00:30of sunny spells and showers. Showers, though, frequent across Scotland, some longer spells
00:34of rain, snow falling over the mountains as well. Frequent showers, Northern Ireland,
00:38Northern England, Wales, the West Country as well. The best of the drier, sunnier weather
00:42across parts of the Midlands down into southeast England. But for all, a pretty windy afternoon
00:48to come. We'll see gusts of 30, 40 miles an hour, perhaps locally 50 miles an hour across
00:53parts of Scotland, taking the edge off the temperatures, feeling quite cool, particularly
00:57compared to the highs of 17, 18 Celsius that we saw on Sunday, 7 to 11 Celsius, which is
01:04actually nearer to average for the time of year. Through to the evening time, further
01:08showers push their way eastwards for many parts of the country. Some longer spells of
01:12rain pushing in across northern Scotland, this weather front pushing its way southwards,
01:16some snow over the higher ground continuing to be blustery here, but elsewhere winds fall
01:22light and under the clearest skies, temperatures fall away. Perhaps a touch of frost in the
01:26countryside. Towns and cities holding up around 3 or 4 degrees, but 0 minus 1 possible in
01:33the countryside. So a frosty start, a bright start to Tuesday. Showers, though, particularly
01:37across Scotland, pushing southwards, some longer spells of rain, some hill snow as well.
01:42This feature across the English Channel may give some rain across southern counties of
01:46England for a time too. But for many, much drier, brighter through Tuesday, plenty of
01:51sunny spells, this weather front giving some showery rain as it pushes southwards and
01:55for many, winds will be much lighter. Still breezy, though, across the far north-east
02:00of Scotland and winds generally coming in from the north, temperatures 7 to 11 Celsius.
02:06So it is a mixed picture through the week ahead. We will see further rain at times,
02:11particularly as we head towards the middle of the week, southern counties of England
02:14and Wales. But generally, the winds will be lighter compared to the weekend, less disruption,
02:19but temperatures near average with the risk of some overnight frosts at times too.
