00:00Parkinson's is not a disease, it is the Parkinson's, in the plural,
00:11because there are at least 40 different ways of manifesting this disease
00:17and then to intersect between the diseases, so it is a disease of great complexity.
00:22We have been concentrating for some years the communication on this aspect
00:28precisely because one of the prejudices surrounding Parkinson's
00:32is that Parkinson's is a disease of the elderly and tremor,
00:37so it has only these two faces, instead it has many faces that we want to highlight
00:43because the more competence, knowledge of the disease,
00:47the more there is the possibility of making an early diagnosis.
00:51The new campaign focuses a lot on this aspect of the complexity of the disease
00:56because having the awareness of this multiplicity
01:01helps us to ring the alarm bells among the population
01:06because a relatively simple Parkinson's diagnosis,
01:10a first Parkinson's diagnosis,
01:13and being able to get it at the beginning
01:17allows us to have a possibility of making the period of coexistence with the disease
01:24last longer, a coexistence that we want to be of quality.
01:33So we want to work because our associates,
01:38the people we represent in Parkinson's disease,
01:42can have a long and quality life expectancy
01:47possibly more similar to that of those who do not have the disease.
01:53There is the possibility, in the sense that it is not taken for granted,
01:57precisely in a disease that manifests itself in a thousand ways
02:00and that manifests itself so differently depending on the person
02:04and therefore must be adapted also in the management of the cure.
02:09In each case it is clear that there is no unanimous answer,
02:13but what we can see is that there are many cases
02:18in which a correct and sartorial cure
02:24flanked by lifestyles,
02:29which are lifestyles that are good for everyone, among other things,
02:33food, sleep, movement, sports.
02:39If we can keep our attention high on all these aspects,
02:45including interest, including preventing Parkinson's disease
02:50from closing us in an isolated corner and separating us from others,
02:56if we can have a quality life, a life full of activity,
03:02life will be extended and it could even give us surprises,
03:08in the sense that what we are also interested in highlighting with this campaign
03:12is precisely the possibility of reacting to pain, to suffering,
03:18with initiative, with generative activities, with sports activities,
03:24to bring out the interests that we may have abandoned as children.
03:30We have many stories of people who, reacting to the disease,
03:34discover qualities and manage to be more creative.
