00:00And at this point, let's discuss the update on the programs of the current administration here in Mr. President On The Go.
00:27First of all, fellow countrymen, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is pleased to receive the National Security Advisor of Japan, Akiba Takeo, for a courtesy call.
00:38In this courtesy call, our President expressed his confidence that the strength of the partnership between the Philippines and Japan, particularly in the field of defense, security, and economy, will continue.
00:52He said that the partnership between the Philippines and Japan is strong, and this strong partnership has helped to address all the issues that the country is facing, particularly in the position of the Philippines and Japan in the South China Sea.
01:08Aside from that, our President shared the successful ratification of the Reciprocal Access Agreement or RAA on December 16.
01:19Our President said that he is happy and that the Senate has ratified the Reciprocal Access Agreement and that everything is ready to operationalize this partnership between Japan and the Philippines.
01:33The RAA was signed on July 24 to strengthen the interoperability between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Self-Defense Forces of Japan for more extensive practical military cooperation and exercises, and to strengthen the security and defense of the two countries.
01:51This agreement is the first defense pact between Japan and Asia. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shiba Higuero sent this message that he is happy with the continued preparation and strengthening of the relationship between Japan and the Philippines.
