01:28It is being reported that things are trending toward Jimmy Butler making his Warriors debut on Saturday.
01:37So not tonight, but in their next game, which is in Chicago on Saturday.
01:42So that's a great development, but they're going to need him fast because I've talked about this five-game stretch that happens right after that game in Chicago starting next week.
01:52Obviously, this leads up to the All-Star break and then goes to the other side as well.
01:56But this is a hell of a stretch at Milwaukee, at Dallas, at Houston, at Sacramento, and then back home again to Dallas.
02:05And Anthony Davis, who has your number, is probably going to be a part of both of those games when you play Dallas.
02:12So that's a very, very tough stretch.
02:15And if the Warriors can't at least navigate that to a certain degree, man, they're going to be in a real tough spot.
02:21Yeah, it's a six-game road trip before the break and it started last night in Utah with the easiest game of the road trip and you lost.
02:29So you go to L.A. and, like you mentioned, Chicago, that's one that you would look at and think, okay, we should be able to get that.
02:36But, I mean, you should have gotten last night.
02:38Even though you didn't have a number of different people, you still should have gotten it.
02:42But Milwaukee and Dallas, those are tough.
02:45And Houston, on the back end of a back-to-back, also on the road.
02:49And then you do get the break and then you go to Sacramento.
02:52So it's really, what, you got five more games all on the road and you'll have Jimmy Butler for four of them.
02:58But you're getting in a spot here where you got to start making some hay here before you get to the break.

04:22And, you know, against really good teams, they play well and they win.
04:26And against really bad teams, they don't play well and they lose.

04:34I just wanted to chime in and say I think that it's okay if it doesn't, I mean, it will work out eventually.
04:40And I think there's enough star power on this team that once they get to the playoff,
04:45I think they got their opportunity.
04:47And what it boils down to, yeah, it might not be the best deal, but I think in terms of who they got,
04:52like who in the West can they actually stand up to and you're like really worried about seeing them.
04:58I mean, OKC is probably going to fold like a church chair when they hit the playoff.

05:07But I mean, with the three that we got, I like our chance of going to the playoffs.

06:45They told him he wasn't starting, and he walked out.
06:47And that was the last time he was ever a member of the Miami Heat.

09:00He brings a different style of play and he's more in the mid-range.
09:06And we need, what happened last night is they were smoking too many layups when there was an 11-point lead in that last 2 1⁄2 minutes.
09:18And it's very upsetting to see that.
09:21And Curry, I even heard him post-game last night and he said that he's willing to work with Jimmy and bring him on board.
09:32And, you know, even look at their playbook to get some new, different style of play to get this team turned around and straightened out.
09:42And I thought that was quite encouraging.
09:45And he said, I want to look at that playbook and I want to study it and I want to see where I can get better.
09:52And this was Stephen Curry talking.
09:54So I think it's worth giving him a chance and seeing where we end up at the end of the season.

10:37I don't think he's great at it.
10:39But he was their best guy at it.
10:41They want Kaminga to do it.
10:42He's not great at it either.
10:44I do think that they stepped up their game in the here-you-take-it guy category.

10:52Jimmy Butler's a guy who, when you get him the ball, he's going to look to get his.
10:56And so this is where I really hesitate to call this trade an absolute slam dunk win
11:02because I don't know stylistically how he's going to fit with a read and react team,
11:06a pass and move team.
11:08Jimmy Butler could do it, but he's much more of an isolation player.
11:12He's much more comfortable, it seems, as a guy who gets the ball and scores with the basketball.
11:18And, you know, that's what Dennis Schroeder struggled with when he was on this team.
11:21No doubt, no doubt.
11:22Yeah, it's going to take a minute, which is another reason why I think the 11th seed is more likely than the 6th.

12:40if you're in or you're out, there is a spot where we may end up all meeting in the middle.
12:47Here's one thing that I think at least is unarguable.
12:51Whether you're in or you're out, I don't really see how you could, from a large view,
12:58suggest that the Warriors should have just stayed with what they had.
13:02To me, that's lacking a winning attitude, and you could see it all over their faces for the last month or so.
13:10They didn't have enough. They couldn't do it.
13:12So you had to do something.
13:14I'm not overly enamored with this, but I like it from the standpoint that it's something.

13:23I mean, it's more than just a little micro move for a Vucevic with a couple of expirings,
13:28and you bring back the Vuce.
13:30This is a big something.
13:31They made a big swing, and they gave the guy $120 million over the next two years.
13:37Jimmy didn't want to sign an extension.
13:39Well, turns out Jimmy did sign an extension, and they gave him the kind of money that is huge.
13:45They gave him Steph Curry money.
13:47If you look at what Steph has remaining and what Jimmy now has remaining, it's damn close.
13:52So you gave Jimmy more than just a ring.
13:55You gave him a big old ring with a diamond in it, and you're saying to your team,
13:59this is what we're going with.
14:01We're going with two and a half years of fading Steph, of Jimmy Butler, who knows, and Draymond Green,
14:08and this is what we're doing.

14:41I just can't help but think about spacing and pace.
14:46And I just don't, I mean, Jimmy's a 33, 35 percent, you know, three-point shooter.
14:55And I just don't feel like we got better.
14:58Like, I know there's some positives about him.
15:00I know he's a closer.
15:01I know he's probably got just a lot, you know, a lot more experience, higher basketball IQ than some of the young guys we got.
15:09But I just think it's going to change the way we play.
15:13Like, we're going to have Dre, Jimmy, and then either Looney or TJD.
15:17That's three guys who nobody is really scared of beyond the arc.
15:22And then Steph.
15:24And then it's either Buddy or JK.
15:28I just, it doesn't seem like anyone's really going to be worried.
15:32We're going to be back in the same position where we've been in, where we have too many guys on the floor that can't shoot.
15:37And that's why we got all excited about Quentin Post, because he could, you know, help with spacing.
15:42And he's turning out to kind of not be totally ready for the limelight yet.
15:47But I just don't think it's really, it's kind of a mad deal because, or move, because I don't, we're kind of right back in the same spot.
