00:00Hi everyone and welcome to our International Women's Day event.
00:08Everyone should be able to access rugby in Wales, that's something we've worked so hard to achieve
00:12but it's become second nature to us to give it to people for the first time
00:16and tell them this is theirs, you feel confident in this sport, this can take you anywhere you
00:21want to go in the world, this can give you sort of the life skills, interpersonal skills to be
00:25whoever you want to be, it's really groundbreaking. I think it's super
00:29important to share our stories because we're inspiring the next generation of girls coming
00:34through. It was very very male happy and I think that it's just the world of sport
00:43and I do think there's a value as well to kind of curb that that perception.
00:48Like rugby is all about resilience, there's always going to be a positive
00:58outcome if you just keep pushing forward, if you just keep you know just keep going, don't give up.
01:09To build a culture of equality, respect and opportunity where everyone regardless of gender
01:15feels supported and valued. When you have even one more woman in the room with you
01:23and it just kind of gives you like an extra piece of confidence. That was really important to me
01:27that we started to put the players first both in our decision making but also in how we
01:32how we talked about them, how we showed them, how we portray them.
01:35But I think the take-away would be we all have to play our part in making this change
01:46and that's male allies, that's us standing up for advocacy for ourselves
01:50but I do think that we've come a fantastic way and I think this year's going to be really really exciting.
01:56And that's it.
