00:00Oh, hey, that's good. She comes as streaky as a feature. No, no, no. Streaky. With an E, not an ing.
00:06Here's a look at the McFarlane toys. This is the DC Multiverse. Power Girl Reborn. Power Girl.
00:30Kara Zor-El escaped Krypton and gained astounding abilities under Earth-2's yellow sun.
00:36Adopted by Clark Kent and Lois Lane, she was coached by Superman, her cousin Kal-El, and yearned to become a superhero.
00:42When Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman died after Earth-2 was invaded by Apocalypse, Kara and her friend Robin were rejected from their universe.
00:50On Prime Earth, Kara rebranded herself as technology entrepreneur Karen Starr, building a company dedicated to bridging dimensions.
00:57As Power Girl, she covertly secured funds and confiscated useful technologies in a bid to return to Earth-2.
01:05Clark has a cousin. And his cousin has a cat.
01:07Before, though, we actually look at Streaky the cat, let's take the tape measure and see how tall the Power Girl Reborn Power Girl stands.
01:13A very hard-to-find figure now, and even when you find her, she's going for some pretty stupid money online.
01:18I end up actually ordering this one or buying this one through the Facebook selling group for around $70, and even then, I think I was getting a deal.
01:25As for the height of Kara, if we look at the tape measure, she's going to be standing at about 7 1⁄4 inches in height, more even closer to 7 1⁄2 inches in height.
01:34That translates, though, to a figure that's 19 centimeters tall.
01:37As for her cousin, here's what the figure looks like with the Action Comics Superman.
01:42Yes, you can see that Power Girl is quite considerably taller than her cousin.
01:46And I feel like maybe the height maybe should have been a little bit shorter, even make a Superman taller.
01:52I know Kara is a pretty tall character, but I don't feel like she maybe should be the height that she is right now.
01:57Luckily, though, she is still smaller enough when you compare her along with, say, the likes of Darkseid.
02:02And, you know, I don't have a lot of Power Girls in my collection, but still one of my favorite Power Girls that still has remained in my collection
02:07happened to be the DC Direct one we got from the Infinite Crisis line.
02:11In fact, actually, they come included with an Infinite Crisis display stand.
02:13I mean, obviously, you would never compare the two displayed on a shelf, but even if you did,
02:18Kara is quite considerably taller than the DC Direct days.
02:21Obviously, the days of DC Direct are gone, and with new figures from McFarlane and his team,
02:25we get not only brand-new accessories, but we also get display stands and trading cards.
02:29Backing that, obviously, just a bit, though, the figure does come included with a DC logo stand,
02:33and because this is part of the Mark McFarlane Collector's Edition line,
02:36the DC branding down below gets branded now in silver.
02:40It still has the peg off to the far corner, so it's really no different at all from a regular DC display stand,
02:45and, of course, it can plug into either one of Kara's boots.
02:48The figure does also come included with a really nice-looking trading card.
02:51I feel like maybe her head might be a little bit small, I mean, again,
02:55when you're comparing with the proportions of the rest of her body.
02:59Maybe, like, the head does seem like it's kind of surprisingly small.
03:02You've got the McFarlane Collector's Edition font logo down to the side there,
03:06and obviously, if you flip it around to the back, we have still the same face.
03:08It's Power Girl Reborn, real name is Kara Zor-El, or Karen Star,
03:13and if you feel like that's a very long read, too long of a read for you to pause and read it yourself,
03:18don't worry, I've already done it for you.
03:20Let's go ahead and put the trading card away.
03:21I'm going to definitely store this in my trading card sheets.
03:24That's one of the nicest-looking cards we've gotten recently.
03:27The figure does, like I said, already come included with her cats.
03:30Streaky, the Wonder Cat.
03:31First of all, this thing's adorable.
03:34I love the face that they've sculpted on it.
03:35The paint looks nice.
03:36I mean, even, like, looks like the cat is smiling.
03:40I think it's also a clever touch, too, that they decided to give Streaky a fabric cape.
03:45I mean, this could easily have been so...
03:46I don't want to say phoned in.
03:47Phoned in sort of applies that the company just doesn't care.
03:50But they could have so easily molded a plastic cape on Streaky,
03:53but they decided instead little seamstresses, tiny seamstresses,
03:57would have made and crafted this cape.
03:59It even has the Supergirl logo or the emblem of L printed there on the top.
04:04If you actually move the cape out of the way,
04:05you can see that Streaky has lightning bolts
04:07on either side of the figure's body.
04:12There's no possibility at all for Streaky.
04:14I don't think I would expect to have a cat this size to have any bit of possibility.
04:19But the fact that we get ourselves even this discussion happening back and forth with you and me,
04:23the fact that Streaky comes included, it's a nice touch.
04:27What is also a nice touch, too, is that she also comes included with some swappable hands.
04:31Now, she already has, like, these gestured hands,
04:33which I had her pose sort of on the sides of her waist.
04:35I'll show you guys how that works.
04:37She also has the options available of having closed fists.
04:39You can go that route instead.
04:41Or she also has gripping hands.
04:43Although with the gripping hands, it sort of leaves an implied idea
04:46that the figure should also have come included with other accessories.
04:49She has, for the record, no other accessories than the ones we've already discussed.
04:53As mentioned, though, I mean, what you can do with the hands that she has,
04:57I mean, you can have them as just sort of gestured hands,
04:59like she's, like, saying, hey, stay away from me, you creep.
05:02Or you can also take these hands,
05:04and they fit quite comfortably on the sides of her waist.
05:07Just like that.
05:08I think probably for me, displaying Power Girl on the shelf will be the option that you're seeing right now.
05:13Boy, that looks nice.
05:15Looks really nice.
05:16What is also nice, too, is that, like Streaky, she does come included with a fabric cape.
05:20Seems more the trend now when we come with moving figures moving forward.
05:24Seems like McFarlane toys seem to want to really release all their figures now with cloth capes.
05:28I know initially I kind of thought to myself,
05:30plastic capes, just because I grew up with always having plastic capes on my figures,
05:35I mean, I'm not even counting, like, the Kenner days of, like, superpowers,
05:38but, like, DC Multiverse figures, DC Universe figures always really had plastic capes.
05:43I gotta say, though, fabric capes are so much nicer.
05:46I mean, it gives, first of all, a little bit more look and realism to this,
05:49and also, too, by incorporating a wire built-in frame.
05:52You can also manipulate the cape.
05:53You can never do this at all with plastic.
05:56So, of course, you can also bring the cape up like this,
05:57so it sort of looks like she's kind of having the wind blowing up back at her.
06:01I really think that's cool,
06:03and I love that we actually are getting fabric capes with figures.
06:06Now, for us, certainly when it comes to the figure's face,
06:09even though the figure is a little bit more expensive,
06:11I would say it's well worth at least the price that I paid for her.
06:14Now, she has started to skyrocket,
06:16not nearly as the level of the DC Multiverse Wonder Woman,
06:19which I just went on a hunch,
06:22just wondering if the price had maybe dropped on her.
06:25Checked to eBay only to find that the DC Multiverse Wonder Woman
06:28was now selling for around $200 to $240.
06:31This guy is not spending $200 to $240 to get a Wonder Woman.
06:35Luckily, though, the price of Power Girl, while still being high,
06:39it isn't at that price yet where you have to start to decide
06:41whether you need to be eating for the month.
06:43The headscope looks quite good, though, for Power Girl.
06:45Now, there is also a variant of her as well.
06:47I'm not even sure.
06:48I don't know if I really need to venture out to get the variant,
06:51when really all I really want on the Power Girl
06:53is just to have the classic outfit.
06:55The actual shoulder pad, one thing that's cool
06:58is that it's a separate piece.
07:00So when it comes to actually moving her arms
07:01that we'll talk more about in a moment,
07:03this shoulder pad isn't going to get in the way
07:05like my hand just did.
07:06It's not going to get in the way
07:07of moving the figure's arms around.
07:09The headscope looks, like I said,
07:11the headscope is not bad at all.
07:12I mean, there's nothing really I would have changed necessarily to it.
07:15Giving her like a smile.
07:16She almost has like a suggested smile,
07:18almost like she's kind of looking at you thinking,
07:20I wouldn't even bother.
07:21Don't even think about it.
07:21Don't even think about it.
07:22Don't come near me.
07:24Again, when it comes to her outfit,
07:26I know, obviously, Power Girl,
07:28there's some debate, of course,
07:29whether like maybe it's too suggestive of an outfit.
07:31I mean, here at least, though,
07:33I mean, unlike the DC Direct,
07:35which I have to, again, just like bring back,
07:37they have obviously toned down sculpting considerably
07:39from the days of DC Direct to what we're getting now.
07:42I mean, she's still obviously full in the figure,
07:45but she's not nearly the level of full in the figure
07:47that she used to be in earlier figure releases of her.
07:49The white looks quite good.
07:50I mean, I love the way they've painted the blue.
07:53The blue doesn't look at all like it bleeds to the white.
07:55I think the paint has done well.
07:56I mean, obviously, down below here in the red belt,
07:58that looks good too.
08:00Long, long looking legs.
08:01I mean, that might contribute as well
08:02to why the figure is so much considerably taller
08:04than the action comic Superman.
08:06Come on.
08:07And she has really nice painted boots.
08:09I do like that they've added the little gold on the side,
08:11the little attentions to detail.
08:12Well, yeah, all in all, though, it's a nice looking figure.
08:15Nice little additional panel lining added in there as well.
08:18I would imagine they probably couldn't get
08:19much mold mileage out of this.
08:21Power Girl probably has a very unique mold,
08:23not one that can really be copied over
08:24other than just getting the variant of her.
08:27Now, for the figure's articulation,
08:28going back to the head,
08:29Power Girl, because she does have a ball joint,
08:31allows for full head rotation.
08:34The head can look down, quite low, in fact.
08:36Looks up high, high up in the sky.
08:39You can also move the head back and forth as well.
08:40The arms easily rotate, no issues at all there.
08:43Even on the side that has the shoulders,
08:45you can't, I mean,
08:46it's not like it's going to get in the way at all.
08:48You can easily rotate the arm over there as well.
08:50At full successful T-pose, right there.
08:53She has a swivel at the bicep,
08:54if I actually hold onto the shoulder,
08:56swivel in the bicep, double hinge on the elbow.
08:58The hands also rotate all the way around
09:00with a hinge there as well.
09:02Power Girl does have, unfortunately,
09:04a limitation that you don't actually have
09:06this top of her torso here,
09:07this top of her torso here,
09:09doesn't have a separate independent ball joint.
09:12So when you are rotating her,
09:13you're actually rotating everything as one piece
09:15down below by the waist.
09:17One thing, though,
09:18if they had added a joint right here,
09:20clearly it would have added a cut.
09:22And then you would have to have put the cut right where,
09:24I mean, obviously it would just draw more attention
09:26to the fact of, obviously,
09:28the sculpting of the figure.
09:28How the legs do split out.
09:30She has these splits going on there.
09:31You can take, obviously,
09:32the legs move forward and back.
09:34I would say obviously.
09:35I mean, some people may not even know that.
09:37Swivel at the top of the thigh.
09:39You may obviously notice here as well,
09:40she has a double hinge in the knee,
09:42so you can bend it there that way.
09:43No swiveling in the boots.
09:44No, not at all.
09:45It's actually just a continuation for the calf.
09:47She does have, however,
09:48ankle pivots and ankle rocker.
09:52I will say, though,
09:52it does seem like she has awfully small feet.
09:55Now, being that she does have small feet
09:57and she has large torso,
09:59it does make for a little more of a stability issue
10:01when it comes to Power Girl standing on the shelf.
10:03It's almost as if the figure does need herself
10:05a display stand.
10:07And yes, in fact, yeah, she does.
10:08She comes included with a display stand.
10:10She has also, again,
10:11Streaky the Super Cat, the Wonder Cat.
10:13I think that's just fun,
10:14the fact that they actually took the time
10:16to include the cat.
10:17And that the cat, much like Power Girl,
10:19does have a real fabric cape.
10:21Still, the size, though, is one thing.
10:23I mean, obviously,
10:24if you just have her displayed on the shelf on her own,
10:26it's not so big of a deal.
10:27But if you choose, for example,
10:29like to display her along with the cousin,
10:31there's definitely a height difference,
10:32really, between the two.
10:33There's not really a lot of other Superman
10:35that are bigger than the one
10:36that we get here from Action Comics.
10:37There are a few.
10:38I think the reborn Superman,
10:39which I really probably should have brought in
10:41for the example,
10:42is a little bit taller.
10:43But I don't think he's still as tall as Power Girl.
10:46Power Girl, though, is a nice figure.
10:47I don't know if I need to really get the variant of her.
10:50I mean, obviously, the variant makes use
10:51of a lot of the same moles
10:52that we're getting right now.
10:53I think just the basics,
10:55the basic version of Power Girl
10:56is more than enough for my collection space.
10:58Oh, and by the way,
10:59if you're wondering what the difference is
11:00between the regular and the variant of Power Girl,
11:02it basically boils down to a jacket and pants.
11:04Yeah, the variant has a red pleather jacket.
11:07Instead of having her bare legs here,
11:09she actually has a full pair like slacks.
11:11Oh, and also her belt.
11:12Instead of it being red like this one,
11:14it's actually more of a gold.
11:15Not enough of a change for me.
11:17And plus two,
11:17I'm more invested in the classical look to Power Girl.
11:20I think streaky and the hands
11:21and the display stand
11:22are exactly the same between the two.
11:24There's not enough of a nudge,
11:26especially for the price
11:27of what she's going for right now.
11:28I don't feel like I want to spend that same price
11:30or maybe even more
11:31to try to track down the variant
11:32when I'm perfectly content
11:33with the classic look of her.
11:35One added thing I do certainly like
11:37is the fact that now all these figures
11:38seem to have fabric capes.
11:40Fabric capes,
11:40especially wires built into the man.
11:43It's a thing of beauty,
11:44especially when you can have it posed
11:45in such a way
11:46that it looks like the wind is blowing her.
11:48If you guys have had the chance to pick up car,
11:50let me know down below in the comment section
11:51whether you've got the regular or the variants,
11:54or if maybe you were lucky enough to get both.
11:56Still though, I don't know.
11:57Maybe if the price goes down low enough,
11:59I might just pick her up
12:00just more on a whim than anything else.
12:02But if I don't,
12:03I'm not going to be disappointed that I passed.
12:05If you guys did enjoy this video,
12:06you can do it as certainly a solid
12:08by hitting a like.
12:09You guys want to stick around for more so?
12:10I hope so.
12:11Hit that subscribe,
12:12turn on that bell,
12:13and of course, come back.
12:14While we are wrapping up things right now
12:16for a classic Power Girl,
12:17there will be more videos coming your way.
12:19So making sure you're coming back
12:20with Peepers Peeled.
12:21As always, thanks for watching.
12:22See you guys next time.
12:25you
