5 things 220425
Transcript
00:00Will you be able to spot the Lyrid meteor shower tonight? Plus, when is it going to get
00:04any warmer? Here are five things that you might want to know about the weather this
00:08week.
00:091. It's a day of sunshine and showers today, but heavy rain is on its way, moving into
00:14Northern Ireland Tuesday afternoon and then elsewhere into much of England and Wales Tuesday
00:18night. The rain will be heavy at times and it will be turning blustery, so a chance it
00:23could wake you up.
00:242. It will be drier in Northern Ireland, Northern England and parts of Scotland, and perhaps
00:31across parts of the south-west during the very early hours of the morning. With some clear
00:35skies, there's a chance that you might be able to spot the Lyrid meteor shower, which
00:38is due to peak tonight, where around 18 meteors per hour are expected to be visible.
00:443. The unsettled weather is likely to continue in the west with more cloud and rain on its
00:50way this week, but elsewhere the vast majority of us should see lots of dry weather, but is
00:56it going to be any warmer?
00:584. Temperatures will be around or just above average this week, so feeling warm in any sunshine,
01:05but into the weekend and into next week temperatures will be on the up, possibly reaching the mid-twenties
01:10in the south-east.
01:115. Across the pond, severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, hail and strong winds will spread
01:17across central USA through the week's end, with up to 200 millimetres of rain possible
01:22in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, which is well above the average for April.
