00:00this time on killers caught on camera in the UK a young woman with a love of horses is stalked by
00:12a work colleague a bag of weapons is found at the stables she just said mommy's weird and in the US
00:22a woman is relentlessly pursued by her estranged husband who tries to ram her car off the road
00:29and events take a lethal turn
00:37we know what happened because the video tells us what happened
00:47in the UK old Whittington Derbyshire
01:06a market town 40 miles east of Manchester in the middle of England
01:13it was home to 23 year old Gracie Spinks
01:18she was my first baby beautiful really beautiful baby
01:29the first thing that I saw was these beautiful massive blue eyes looking at me
01:37Gracie I'll never forget that moment it was a magic moment then we had we had a brother as
01:48well 16 months later so she was really really close to Thomas they were almost
01:52like twins you know born so close in age she was just so beautiful and bubbly and a happy child
02:03she did dancing as a little girl I bought her a guitar and a ukulele and I had a karaoke machine
02:11and in my office and she'd go there every Friday and sing to her heart's content on her own I know
02:18it's a bit of a cliche about lighting up the room but she did you know when she walked in you kind of
02:23you know oh she's here you know she's she's home
02:27happy birthday dear Gracie
02:32happy birthday
02:34as a young girl Gracie spent most of her free time working with horses
02:39in school holidays she'd be there all day mucking out doing all the yucky jobs
02:45filling a nets feed and then at the end of the day they got like a horse riding lesson out of it
02:53in her early 20s her own horse Patty was the love of her life they spent hours together at the
03:01stables Gracie became a swimming instructor but in March 2020 during the Covid pandemic her job was put
03:12on hold and she had to find other work she saw the job advertised it was a Amazon type e-commerce she
03:22made some nice friends there and really really enjoyed the job there in the autumn of 2020 one
03:29of her colleagues Michael Sellers asked her out Stephanie Wareham is a journalist for the press
03:37association Michael Sellers is 35 years old he lives with his family in Sheffield and he was a
03:46supervisor at the farm where Gracie worked she went and had this meal with him and she came back she'd
03:55had a nice evening and she spoke you know fondly of him but Sellers wanted more than friendship and in
04:03December there was an unannounced visit to her home apparently forced himself on her and she really really
04:10was not happy with that at all after that night it was a big turning point that she just said mommy's weird
04:16Gracie called an end to the friendship Sellers did not take Gracie's decision well she blocked him on all
04:27social media because she didn't like how he was messaging her about what you're doing who you're seeing
04:33where you're going sellers followed her every move on security cameras at work he was a supervisor which
04:43meant that he could access the cameras and he would follow Gracie about watching her every move we could
04:53check where she was and who she was talking to and they're the main signs of a stalker you know they
04:59you just want to know where that person is what they're doing who they're talking to their hours
05:04of work the places they visit their likes or dislikes should get obsessed with them and that's that's the
05:09way it was with him when we think of stalking I think we have this picture of someone following
05:17someone physically around a space but actually about half of stalking behavior is digital stalking so
05:23that could be on social media but it can also be using tech assisted tools like cameras and what you find
05:28is especially once you start combining the two when you've got digital and real-life stalking that's
05:35when you've got really problematic behavior I remember Gracie coming home quite cross saying all
05:42that that weirdo he's been watching me on CCTV and he's asking people that I'm talking to you know what
05:49we're talking about it's got nothing to do with him stalking is incredibly hard to deal with it's
05:55incredibly awkward to confront people when you confront people they usually use what are called
06:00neutralization techniques which is that they try to explain away their behavior and they'll say oh
06:05no no I was already in the area or I was checking the video footage for something else you're being
06:10paranoid and you sort of get that gaslighting in there as well and so there's always a reason and
06:15so it's very hard for you as a victim to even feel like what you're experiencing is actually happening
06:23and it's not just in your head by Christmas his behavior became more extreme he'd asked Gracie what
06:32her favorite car was and she'd said a Sirocco so he went and bought one he told her it cost 15,000
06:39pound and said does does this impress you and you know will you go out with me now and she said no
06:45no she thought it were really really weird really weird turning up with unwanted gifts is a classic
06:53part of stalking behavior it itself is a form of manipulation and that can increase the fear
07:01response as well correctly and even worse is if those gifts are in fact used almost in a transactional
07:07manner where the person is saying well I got you this and so we're obviously dating
07:11on January 4th 2021 Gracie left early to see her horse Patty Michael Sellers was already there
07:23she rang me on the phone from the car and she was crying she says mom she said he's at the stables he's
07:31waiting for me it's a place that she felt safe in and suddenly he was there interviewing with her
07:38and that spooked her really frightened her it was a turning point for Gracie she drove straight to work
07:47and reported sellers to her managers an internal investigation revealed that Michael had done the same
08:00thing to eight women that he had worked with before and this included setting up fake social media profiles
08:07to stalk female colleagues on January 27th following misconduct proceedings Michael Sellers was fired
08:18the problem with losing your job and having this obsession is that now you've got nothing else to think
08:27about potentially and so you've got even more time to physically and digitally stalk that person takes time
08:34to figure out exactly where somebody is all the time and to follow them and to show up where they are
08:38just over a week later he appealed against his dismissal saying all of the woman and Gracie were lying
08:47Gracie decided to call the police good evening Dr. Bruce how can I help hi I'm just wanting to report
08:56something that happened with a supervisor at my work basically me and my supervisor we were messaging a
09:04bit on messenger and stuff getting to know each other and then I called it off because I didn't have no
09:09feelings for him and then he became like obsessed with me and wouldn't leave me alone and basically loads
09:16of things happened and then on the 4th of January before work he was sat waiting at my horses field
09:23like waiting for me to go there which scared me a lot and I'm just worried that that you know the
09:29next time it happens to someone else it could be worse than just following me and what not leaving
09:35me alone you know I might kidnap someone do you know I mean I don't think she really wanted anything
09:43particularly to happen to him but she just wanted the police to be aware of the problems that she'd had
09:49with him and that was very sort of typical Gracie that you know she didn't want trouble she didn't
09:55like any trouble I think she kind of thought if I'm just kind to him and you know it'll just go away
10:00she was very naive she wasn't naive and a lot of things wasn't she yeah she thought everyone was nice
10:05yeah and the world was beautiful after Sellers was reported to the police officers confronted him in a
10:15parking lot after walking his dog he told the police that he was in a relationship with Gracie
10:21and that's the illusion that he had that's a big danger signal and a flag to say hang on smith's not
10:29right an erotomanic delusion is where you have this idea that you're in a romantic relationship with
10:37someone when you don't originally it was actually used only to describe women who fantasize or thought that
10:42they were in relationship with men but when women have erotomanic delusions they usually are quite
10:48quiet they're very subdued they don't really act on it very much but with men who have these same
10:53delusions they're much more like to act on it and it can lead to violence so it's a very different
10:57manifestation underlying factors there where men also might feel like they're owed this relationship
11:02because they're now investing so much time and energy into it I think he probably at the time got the
11:08impression from that police officer oh well then you know they're not really serious about doing
11:12anything about it you know at least they've just come along and had a word I'll carry on with whatever
11:17I was going to be doing he told the police that he respected Gracie's decision and he wouldn't speak to
11:26her again and the case was closed but Michael's obsession was continuing and it was reaching new levels
11:42on may 6th 2021 the police received another alarming call this time from a dog walker
11:58hello hi i found a bag and i'm quite concerned about what i found
12:03where did you find it i found it well we were out walking this dog um it's got it's got weapons in it
12:09what kind of weapons in it it's got two big knives uh an axe a brand new hammer a smaller knife
12:19a water bottle change of clothes and viagra and then written on a piece of paper said don't lie
12:26with a exclamation mark
12:33the bag had been found very close to where gracie kept her horse
12:39the bag and its contents was taken back to the police station
12:46but it was dismissed it was simply marked as found property
12:52gracie and her parents had no idea the bag had been found
12:57i had the police gone and just said girls this has been found this afternoon do you recognize it have
13:03you seen anybody gracie would have recognized it as michael's because of the kind of bag it was
13:10and also it got a very distinct water bottle that was always on the corner of his desk at work
13:17he was obviously watching her and was knowing the movements maybe something was going to happen that night
13:24four weeks after the bag of weapons was found sellers displayed worrying activity
13:35on june 16th he was filmed buying garbage bags and tape the following day another flurry of activity
13:44in the white volkswagen sirocco he had bought to impress gracie six months before
13:52halfway between his and gracie's house he stopped at a drive-through for a snack
13:58ray evans is a forensic image analyst and works in close conjunction with law enforcement
14:03we see here the car is seen near the vicinity of grace's house and we know that there's no reason for
14:13him to be there and then 39 minutes later he's back home and then later on he comes out at
14:23after eight in the evening and we see seller's car going through um the cctv very close to grace's
14:31house it's the second time during the day that that this has happened in the very early hours of the
14:38next morning june 18th he loaded up a large box its contents unknown as he comes out of the house
14:48carrying this box he already knows what he's going to do he returned shortly after keeping his purpose
14:57and plan secret michael continued traveling back and forth into the night he was captured on camera
15:08multiple times traveling from his home to gracie's house and the stables here we have his car in the
15:16early hours of the morning the stables where greater kept her horse is in this area here there's no reason
15:24for him to be there in the early hours of the morning seller's car was also caught on dash cam near
15:30the stables with all of this footage available it makes it that much easier for the police to be able
15:40to track and trace people before dawn sellers was out again comes out we don't know what's in the bag
15:49but we're able to again track him quite easily from his house we see his car coming down the hill and he
15:59turns right here and a few minutes later we see him walking in the direction of the uh where the stables
16:07are located and it's early in the morning 5 55 and he is obviously carrying something in his hands he walks
16:15right up towards the direction of the stables
16:26gracie had just woken up she was running late actually that morning we just had brief words in
16:32the kitchen just a normal bye i love you love you
16:35on the morning of june 18th 2021 allison got a call from the partner of gracie's friend nicky
16:50who also kept a horse at the stables i literally just arrived at work they rang me and just said
16:57you need to get to the stables nicky's found gracie at the stables and she's covered in blood
17:06i just thought one of the horses had maybe kicked her i just thought an accident had happened up there
17:16i got to the stables i went into the field and nicky and her daughter came walking over to me nicky
17:22got blood all over her jeans on the knees and she was really upset the guy with the air ambulance told
17:31me to sit down and then i said no i don't want to sit down i just knew what you were going to tell me
17:40he just went despite attempts you know she's passed away i've just sat there going no no
17:49terrible
17:52it was revealed that she had been stabbed and she had 10 stab wounds including one to her neck
18:16we know gracie fought back they said the injuries that she had got like on her hands and
18:22injuries that he'd sustained they could tell that there'd been a fight between them so we knew
18:28that she'd stood up to him gracie's killer was interrupted by her friends
18:35and nicky had seen a man running away down the field they disturbed him so the police were looking
18:42all around paulsbrook and using drones
18:44we're all just hugging each other kind of what is happening here we can't believe this has happened
18:52this is it's unbelievable this is so sad what what's going on we both stood there in silence
18:59you know terrible
19:03can't believe this has happened what's happened to my beautiful daughter
19:06social media was frantic anna white posted a picture of the bag of weapons she found near the
19:18stables a month before it was the first time it had been published nikki that found gracie that morning
19:27saw the content she was horrified because she recognized that the axe that was in the brown bag
19:34of weapons was also exactly the same as what she'd seen at the stables that morning
19:41almost three hours after gracie was killed
19:46another body was found it was her stalker michael sellers had taken his own life
19:55in the field 150 meters away from where gracie's body was discovered there was a black hole door and inside it
20:08was a handwritten note saying don't lie
20:13after the discovery of his body police went round to michael's home address in sheffield and
20:20it was there that they found a suicide note words that were hard to comprehend
20:28he blamed gracie really said he couldn't live with her lies
20:32totally premeditated and planned the whole thing
20:38the inquest into gracie's death concluded that gracie was unlawfully killed by a colleague
20:43derbyshire police accepted there were serious failings in how gracie's initial complaint was dealt with
20:54bitter angry hurt let down i feel devastated by their inactions to
21:01yeah to my daughter's cry for help we do believe she'd be here today if things were handled differently
21:06gracie's parents are now working with the derbyshire police and other forces to help improve the way
21:16police respond to stalking complaints
21:22i feel like gracie's nudging us along and wants wants us to do this 100 i feel like she's there helping
21:28us doing honestly i i think it doesn't make it any easier and it will never go away but
21:34it in a way if we can save one life then it's worth it this is my my gracie tree
21:47so different people have bought me different little ornaments and trinkets and i just keep
21:54this tree lit all the time day and night it's just on all the time and it's my little gracie tree
21:59a little bit of comfort you know she had a whole life to live and to give a lot of love and
22:06big chunk has been ripped out of our lives
22:11never to be replaced
22:19it'll never go away no never
22:22it's very hard very hard to live with
22:29a couple of her friends have had babies as pleased as i am for her friends
22:34it hurts me because you just feel like everybody else's lives are just moving on
22:42in the uk stalking is now being taken increasingly seriously by law enforcement anyone can become a
23:02stalker anyone can develop these sort of obsessive thoughts this repetitive behavior and get stuck in
23:07a spiral especially if they have what's called insecure attachment style so they're not very good
23:12at connecting with people especially romantically it's mostly this idea of you're stuck in this
23:18thought pattern and this obsession and you start following and you fall into the cycle of behavior
23:23and you need someone else to break you out of it partly because you don't have insight that this is
23:27bad behavior and that this is damaging somebody else's mental and physical well-being and that's why
23:32it's important to have training for people who have a past of stalking or who are suspected of
23:39stalking people to make sure that they learn ways to break out of those obsession cycles
23:46in our next case an attempt is made to break the cycle with dramatic consequences
23:52beaumont texas
24:06just over 80 miles east of houston on the texas coastal plain
24:12violent crime in beaumont is double the u.s average
24:15it was home to 32 year old liz carpio and friend cindy mendoza
24:26she was such a loving and caring person she was beautiful inside and out she could light up a room
24:34we saw each other every day we had birthday parties at her mother's house it was like family
24:45where's the next day at home, she was very good.
24:48she was with her mother's house and she was amazing.
24:54she was beautiful.
24:55Lizz and Cindy worked for the same auto parts company and became close friends.
24:58she enjoyed doing audio, changing speakers or putting a big speaker box in the back of her trunk
25:08or anybody's car you know that was her thing in april 2019 liz met bradley conning when he
25:16started working at the auto parts store where liz was a manager they started dating and a few months
25:24later liz became pregnant they got married shortly after i thought that she was happy i didn't see
25:34any red flags or whatsoever but as time went by cindy started to notice things weren't right
25:43she started being a little bit more open about her relationship with her husband
25:49and that's when i later learned that he was abusive controlling manipulative
25:58bradley conning had a history of violently assaulting liz
26:02she reported it to the family violence unit at beaumont police department
26:07detective brian coquenes took on her case
26:12liz and bradley had on again off game relationship and she did report that she was being assaulted
26:17she was punched strangled it was a very toxic relationship
26:23unless they cooperate not much we can really do we try to send them the right direction there's
26:27counseling there's resources out there for you to relocate we don't live behind those doors these
26:32women are scared that's not easy for them to get out of relationships sometimes it's easy for them
26:37just to stay there and statistically a woman will take seven beatings before they even call the police
26:42to report it so there's probably more abuse than what we even know about liz was living in constant fear of
26:50bradley on august 22nd 2020 she called 9-1-1 because he was chasing her down in his car
27:009-1-1 where's your mercy
27:02my ex-husband was um guarding me and he's following me right now i'm scared to pull out
27:08he's right here blocking me on the street he's gonna hit me oh my god
27:20he's hitting the back of your car
27:27he's gonna kill me
27:31oh my god thank god he got him no they're chasing him
27:35bradley had tried to ram liz off the road while his six-year-old niece was in the passenger seat
27:44the officers caught up with him and bradley was arrested
27:49trying to run someone off the road and thinking that that is going to have any kind of benefit
27:54for you and the relationship is uh i mean most of us would say that's ludicrous and i don't think
28:00that people who are engaging this behavior think that this is going to work i think they are acting
28:05out of bad management of their emotions and the inability to solve the problems that they have so
28:13it's an inability to communicate effectively it's an inability to express anger it's an inability to
28:18manage anger and that manifesting in this way bradley was charged with aggravated assault evading
28:26detention and child endangerment he remained in jail for 12 days but he convinced liz to bail him out
28:36whenever he was released she was the one that picked him up she was the one that was there for
28:42all of the arrangements of his probation officer i guess he had manipulated her that he would be the
28:50only one that would accept her or that would care for her but bradley's aggressive behavior continued
28:58when he got out of jail he started harassing her he started making so many phone calls email after email
29:09threats harassing her she felt like her life was in danger she didn't feel safe
29:17anywhere she would go and she started to carry a gun
29:26one of the main reasons cited in the united states for gun ownership is for personal security so it's
29:32this idea that if i have a gun i can defend myself which there's a an element of truth to that however
29:39statistically you're twice as likely to be murdered if you have a weapon in the home than if you don't
29:44which is huge so if you think it's going to make you safer it's i mean statistically not
29:51now armed liz realized that she had to stop her support and completely disconnect from bradley
29:59she was pretty upset she's saying you know i made a mistake i regret what i did she helped him get out
30:05of jail this time um she was brainwashed but she filed for divorce liz also installed security cameras on
30:15her house but on april 28 2021 liz's electricity was cut off one night i get a phone call from her
30:26stating that she couldn't see anything on her cameras because the lights have been cut off
30:31but liz's new camera had managed to capture a man running away
30:40it was bradley
30:44detective sergeant yvette borrero runs the family violence unit at beaumont police department
30:54she had told him that she wanted a divorce so that's why he was ramping up his aggression
30:59she even posted on her facebook page that she was worried that he was becoming more violent
31:05and that she also posted that if anything happened to her it'd be him
31:11the next morning april 29th liz woke up to find her tires slashed
31:18immediately she bought more storage for the video recorded on her security cameras
31:22then went straight to the courthouse to apply for a protective order i think she saw the light she
31:30was ready to get out of that relationship she was fine for protective order which prevents him from
31:34coming around her so she was going in the right direction finally if she's going right direction
31:40liz left the courthouse to go back home briefly and sell bradley's truck
31:45as she was driving back she called cindy i was on the phone with her for 10 minutes
31:54she said i'm gonna go ahead and i'm gonna pull it forward the driveway
31:59she gets out of her car she pulls up the truck that she's gonna go ahead and sell
32:03she tells me you know i'm gonna just let it run to make sure that it's running
32:20she tells me he's here he's here call the cops call the cops
32:339-1-1 what's the address of your emergency i have a friend liz carpio
32:46her husband is there he was worried and she told me to hurry up and call the
32:50law enforcement for her and she just hung up the phone and now i can't get through her
32:54he's been threatened to kill her and what's his name bradley okay we'll get officers out there
32:59officer cory gerber was first on the scene
33:08as i pulled up exited my patrol unit and there was a truck that was still running so i figured
33:13somebody was trying to leave it wasn't until i got around the front of the truck i found liz
33:18deceased on the ground she was on her back and her face was completely covered in blood so i
33:27couldn't tell if she had been beaten or shot i called for a supervisor along with the detectives to
33:36come help
33:43yvette borrero responded to the scene with detectives from the family violence unit
33:48when we arrived on scene it was very apparent that this was going to be a homicide case she was laying
34:01in the driveway clearly deceased there was what looked like a bouquet of flowers laying on the ground
34:08there was also a handgun there was no suspect vehicle or anything like that so we didn't know
34:18the the killer walked up rode a bicycle up drove up in a car we just had no idea
34:28the police determined that liz had been killed by a gunshot to the head
34:32the medical examiner confirmed that it was very close range because it left stippling on her head
34:38she probably absolutely knew who shot her because she saw it coming right at her
34:47when i arrived to the scene
34:51i um i see ambulance
34:55and i see something on the floor and i see her mother crying on another side of the street
35:05i said well what's going on
35:09the detective at that time also lets me know that
35:15she had been killed
35:25as detectives tried to work out how liz had been killed brian coquenez noticed her investment
35:31in surveillance i look up and i see several cameras on the side of her house
35:38and at that point we were hoping to show what happened
35:45we need to get those cameras that's our case
35:48when we first arrived we had no idea who possibly could have done the shooting we had a lead on a
36:00possible first name because we'd received a 911 call from the victim's friend her husband is there
36:09he's been threatened to kill her and what's his name bradley
36:12this person was identified as bradley conning he was her estranged husband that she was trying to
36:19escape from due to previous family violence in fact that morning she had gone to what's called
36:25victim's assistance to apply for a protective order and then later that day she was going to
36:31meet with one of our detectives to file formal charges on him regarding harassment so this was an
36:37ongoing domestic violence situation bradley's sister knew her brother well and arrived on the scene
36:47we spoke with bradley's sister she was very cooperative she told us that bradley had just
36:53used her car and just brought it back to her
36:56while searching her vehicle we found a receipt in her car from hcb which is a local grocery store
37:07right down the road on those receipts it gives you the date time we went to the hcb store and was able
37:14to pull security footage from that store and from that register the footage showed bradley conning
37:22buying a bouquet of flowers at a grocery store less than two miles away from liz's house this video
37:30was very important because it shows his clothing his demeanor but the flowers were very important
37:37he made this purchase around 9 35 a.m and around 10 04 a.m is when we received the call of the homicide
37:54that showed that he was there within minutes
38:00at this moment in the course of this investigation this evidence was very crucial to us because it gave
38:06us the probable cause that we needed to detain him but they still had to find bradley
38:15a special unit was sent out to try and track him down
38:23throw the keys out the window place both hands out your window open the door from the outside we were able
38:32to send out a special assignments unit and these men are geared to searching and hunting down people
38:38they spoke to anyone who knew bradley have you been in the floor at all today
38:45i didn't see him none today i didn't see him yesterday when was the last time you saw him
38:50that's only three days ago three days ago man man so what's going on with him well uh as you can see
38:58we're definitely looking for him it's pretty serious for real yeah let me put it to you this way it's going to be on the news
39:08finally just after 10 o'clock that night they found bradley and he was arrested
39:14yvette borrero called liz's mom to let her know hello hey mr nadas yeah hey i wanted to let you know we
39:23have him oh thanks god really you have it for sure yes we have him don't let him go please don't let him
39:30go anymore please thank you so much thank you thank you thank you they found him at his aunt's house
39:39outside of city of bulmer and they brought him back in uh we questioned him bradley did not help us at
39:47all he lawyered up said he didn't do it he pretty much had a spark on his face didn't care um showed
39:55no emotion didn't ask anything didn't ask about where his wife was or where his child was or anything
40:01bradley was held in jail on a one million dollar bond for liz's murder but to keep him locked up the
40:08police needed irrefutable proof that he killed liz the evidence they needed was on liz's surveillance camera
40:17but finding the footage was a technical challenge we discovered that her security
40:23footage was actually on the app and it was in a cloud they were actually out of china so our laws
40:29here don't apply to them so trying to subpoena this footage or anything was not going to happen
40:35we also had a time limit where the footage on the cloud gets wiped off i believe it was we had 15 days
40:42kicked to that footage and we needed a passcode the clock's ticking we have to get to this footage or
40:48we're going to lose it they sent liz's phone off to tech experts to break the code but the process
40:56was taking too long they got the phone back and resorted to old-fashioned police methods
41:02we all sat down with liz's family to say hey start giving us any code you could think liz would use
41:11date of births anything special that we could start typing in and that's when me and sergeant borrero
41:18start punching numbers it's very frustrating trying getting that phone i don't think me and sergeant borrero
41:24slept very much those two or three days we were scared we're gonna lose that footage you won't justice
41:28serve for this lady and for a family to have some type of closure that's your job it was painstaking
41:36work i was just trying several different four digit combinations finally the phone opened up for me
41:45with a code that happened to be two zero zero four the code provided access to significant evidence
41:53yvette and her team were about to finally see on camera who killed liz
42:04this is our victim coming home to her residence she pulls into her driveway
42:16she's bringing out her garbage can we see that she's on the phone with her friend
42:20and as she's on the phone with her friend we see the suspect coming up
42:40she pulls a gun out to defend herself
42:50it's brutal it's graphic to hear her voice speaking and then she's just extinguished like that
43:07within minutes it's horrible it's horrible i hate it for her family i hate it for her child that's going
43:14to grow up to know that her father did this to her mother and for what for no reason just to be controlling
43:24the evidence caught on camera could not have been more incriminating
43:30he steps out wearing the same clothing that he was wearing at the grocery store he
43:34calmly walks up to her then he runs at her he overpowers her knocks her out
43:39takes the gun shoots her point blank throws the gun at her and leaves he leaves the flowers
43:51this video was key evidence now we were able to prove that without a shadow of doubt this is what
43:57he did this is how he did it
44:02bradley was unaware the police had recovered the footage from liz's house
44:06he thought he disabled the cameras the night before when he turned the breaker off
44:13when this finally went to court he still did not take responsibility up until he really knew that
44:21the footage was so very telling he still tried to make excuses the footage from liz's security camera
44:30was played to the jury in court the camera footage for this case was so very valuable because it showed
44:39him graphically doing the crime that it was him by himself nobody else that he could blame and it there's
44:47just no other evidence like seeing it for yourself it was him he did this and we had him
44:57bradley conning was found guilty of liz carpio's murder and sentenced to 73 years in prison
45:06there's so much senseless violence that sometimes it's just you just have to you know
45:11you know what the heck but what keeps me personally going is that when we do help people and then
45:20and when it does horribly go wrong that we hold that person accountable for for their misdeeds
45:28i still remember her and i still have memories of her for one her mother gave me this necklace
45:37it's one way of me also knowing that i have her close to me she was a person that i could lean on
45:50she was my sister my best friend
45:53someone that i could trust someone that i could count on
