00:43yeah how does that feel coming home in that kind of accolade other in the season that they have in
00:48too yeah oh in all seriousness it's such an amazing honor right like you know we uh we forget sometimes
00:54about the pioneers that laid the ground before us so we just got to just give a moment and be like
00:58yo Jackie Robinson right like I mean the first ever yes and it sounds cool after the fact to be like oh
01:04yo he's the first black player to play off the color barrier but you think about when he was doing it
01:09it wasn't cool no no he was catching a lot of flack right so he had to endure a lot of things in order
01:15to make it right but he did it and now we honor him and it's amazing and then for them to call me and

02:23worried about Tom Brady coming here I mean we all see saw what happened but were you a little
02:27worried at first you say worried yeah because he was worried we might win too much I mean everybody
02:32it was kind of sketchy here's the thing first of all Jameis is my guy like he is like you know
02:36that's the fam so I was like if we gonna get rid of Jameis we better bring in like some heat you
02:41better bring in somebody but we bring in the goat yeah you know what I'm saying so yeah I wasn't
02:45worried about it once we got in time come on let's go Tommy seven rings let's get it baby now Jameis I
02:51know you out there in Hollywood and everything when he started eating W's and stuff you had to be
02:55like I gotta diss this myself we were worried for a second come on now you had to look around like
02:59all right that's my guy listen man let me tell you about my Hollywood people first of all first
03:04of all you never want to meet your heroes okay I work with everybody just just if you're in love
03:10with the on-screen persona stick with that yeah people tell me all the time hey what is so and so
03:13like you don't want to know you don't want to tell you right now if you liked him in the movie or the
03:17tv show imagine they like that all the time they not like that in their trailers at all you were born
03:23and raised here obviously you're doing like all the shout outs so when you come back to town you're here a lot
03:28are there any must-have places you need to visit when you're here you know what I I used to always
03:35uh make sure I ran through Ybor City because when I was coming up that was definitely the spot right
03:39I love the Ybor now you know what Central Lab St. Pete oh yeah I've been over there yeah so you know
03:45being gone for so long and coming back and just seeing how St. Pete is and the growth and it's so
03:48great I love it and then of course you know I hit the beach when you grow up here I didn't appreciate
03:53the beach like I do now yeah like I literally grew up five minutes from the beach yeah and I was like
03:58yeah you know you want to go now it's hot you know now all I'm trying to do is find a beach you know
04:05it's like back in the day remember nap time and the teacher was like nap time oh boo nobody want to
04:09take a nap right I would pay somebody for a nap right now a midday nap are you joking
04:15and juice what all I want to do is get back to kindergarten are there any other um food food
04:24places or restaurants you really like here like you have to stop by uh you know what bouillon is
04:29amazing for sure I just went there for lunch yeah no bouillon is dope um I hit 80 v's you know what I'm
04:35saying okay I like 80 v's yeah so some good spots and then you got like my little greasy spoon spots
04:40you know what I mean on the beach you got to be fancy and and white tablecloth you know what I mean
04:44you got to get the greasy spoons get in there with a little little fried food now you don't know
04:48nothing about the grease but you know I do know about greasy spoons brother you you weigh 120 pounds
04:52right now you're looking great over there man and you're trying to undermine me with these
04:56crispy cream donuts donuts for them y'all they won't even eat them I'll show them on camera and
05:01they're warm too oh come on you know the hot sign yeah I know about it he knows about it that shows
05:07you when your executive is real when you know about the light now let me let me just walk you
05:12through this real quick um because this is why this was it was so paramount you are worldwide your
05:18your acclaim I mean we could talk beast we could talk praise this we could talk about everything that
05:22I love about what you do but before all of that yeah I'm walking down past the fam pharmacy building
05:29okay right there on the wall is a divine nine paintings of all of the sororities and fraternity
05:35yeah fam Utah and I'm walking down and you I was much larger than this right now so I was walking
05:40down to Skinner's to get me my chicken so you're walking slow I was on a stroll yeah I was not
05:47trying to just paint the picture got it okay so I'm walking down to Skinner's to get me some chicken
05:51and I look up and see a movie poster for chocolate city wow wow you're taking it back and and and right
05:58that at that moment because I was working as a weekender and on the radio and I was like there's
06:03dudes on campus because I'm thinking Spike Lee yeah I'm like these dudes got movie posters I ain't
06:10even worried about the movie I'm like they got a movie yeah post up here they promoting they made
06:14it and they go here yes I gotta do better yeah and I went to the station it was like started
06:19volunteering for everything I could because I'm like I gotta find me some kind of hustle because
06:23they out here killing it oh wow that's so dope like absolutely I was like yo I have to tell you
06:28I mean and then the story about how y'all distributed you know twire yourself yeah you know I mean you
06:34drove in a rental car yes yes to like how many cities did you go to 19 different cities wow we drove so
06:42this is before the days you could just you know hit send and an Instagram post went out to a million
06:46people right or 75 million I heard the Kim Kardashian question right that wasn't that and
06:51so you know a lot of people say yo what is the secret to success nobody really wants the real
06:56answer which is just you got to work your butt off you got to work harder than anybody else it's not
07:00that you got to be better than anybody but you got to outwork everybody so oh you are right I
07:05myself my partner Rob Hardy made a movie called chocolate city when we were students it is still to
07:10this day the first movie made on an HBCU campus by its students by HBCU students to be nationally
07:16distributed mind-blowing and so we drove the next movie there was a movie called twire right it's
07:21starring Kenya Moore a lot of people think that she first like just a real housewife but before that
07:26she was Miss USA and after that she was in a little freaky movie that that Will Packer was a part of
07:33and it was called twire it was literally about him not as a twire going wrong yeah and so we drove nobody
07:37would distribute it for us so we had to distribute it ourselves and so we drove city to city to city
07:42and we would go and try to sneak into radio stations like this and say hey can you give me
07:4630 seconds in between your next break you know before you go and go to the news or cut to this
07:51can you get and so we literally drove from Atlanta to Birmingham Alabama to Jackson Mississippi to
07:56Charlotte North Carolina to Raleigh to Greensboro to out of your own pocket I know all every market
08:01because I drove and we had a Ford excursion so it didn't make any sense you know how much you toss
08:06to fill up a Ford excursion it don't even make it anymore own pocket we would drive we had our
08:11little flyers and we were hustling that's the bottom line we went and we hustled and hustled
08:15that movie and there's people listening right now it's like I remember twire I know that movie
08:19that was our first movie after Chocolate City which was the one we shot on campus but the point is that
08:23Hollywood wasn't paying attention to us yeah so if it's somebody listening to me right now
08:27and you got a dream right what can you do to make your dream happen are you waiting on somebody
08:32else to validate you are you waiting on somebody else to give you something right Orlando you saw
08:36that poster and said I need to do something else I gotta do more but that's what happens like
08:41inspiration is all around us we just gotta find it y'all you know I'm from right here people if
08:46I know people listen worldwide 94 but if you happen to be listening in Pinellas and Hillsborough I'm right
08:50here public school system right right here I knew nobody in Hollywood I didn't have any connections
08:56I definitely didn't have any money but I was willing to hustle and make it happen I was very
09:00blessed had a lot of good people around me and here we go man was that even a dream of yours to do
09:05film when you were here like when you were in the position that they're in now riding the school
09:10was that even fathomable no for you to be like I'm gonna be uh you know involved in Hollywood I'm gonna
09:16create content I'm gonna be a media mogul no none of that I didn't know anything about that world
09:23right I just knew I wanted to be successful and one thing that my parents taught me right shout out
09:28to my mom I said my mom be on the radio she said what station baby I said 94.1 she said well what
09:33channel is that I said okay let me let me go to the house turn it on so 94.1 wasn't playing in my
09:39mama house for three days I was scared for her to change it because she's looking for me on Netflix
09:44so I she always told me listen if your name is gonna be on it make sure you're giving 110 percent
09:50so I was like a lot of people on their way to school right now like I don't want to study algebra
09:54I don't want to learn world history I don't want to do social study like I didn't want to do that
09:59necessarily right but I definitely listen I was a straight-a student man I worked hard right it
10:04didn't just start with me going to Hollywood working hard I worked hard right you know in middle
10:08school high school like you got to work hard now you build a work ethic now do you see the work
10:12ethic a little bit different with uh different generations maybe the ones that are coming up now
10:16trying to intern or that you see in the movie set I do the same hustle it's a little bit different
10:20and I'm not the person that's like the old man get off my lawn that's always trying to like you
10:24know diss the young generation what I will say is that the younger generation is more of an immediacy
10:29I want it now short-term attention span because that's how everything works it's how social media
10:34works digital you know everything is like I want it now I get it now yes and the grind
10:38is real right and so what people don't know is like even for me I'm very blessed very successful
10:43right now right I put my resume against anybody's but before that there were years I was I after I
10:49graduated from FAMU and had made my first movie Chocolate City I then with an engineering degree
10:55moved to Atlanta right packed everything up in a U-Haul truck me and my partner Rob Hardy and I was then
11:02delivering newspapers for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution I was answering phones for Clorox right I was
11:08a temp I was doing data entry I did anything I could because I didn't want to go and and and get a
11:13full-time job in corporate but that meant I had to hustle it was years Stomp the Yard was my first
11:19big hit shout out to anybody remember Stomp the Yard you know what I'm saying Chris Brown down in the
11:23first five minutes apologies whatever you saw it you know what I'm saying it over it happened
11:26but I'm shocked to get you but Stomp the Yard that I graduated from college in 1996 Stomp the Yard came
11:36out in 2007 so that was a lot of finding away 11 years that's what people don't see so you got to be
11:42willing to grind that's what I would say to anybody listen right now put in the work one foot in front of
11:47the other be patient don't give up right define your own success you will get there but you got
11:52to be willing to put the work in I just got um offended by Will Packer he's in the building right
11:57now he called my dorm yeah the thug dorm which honestly on fam's campus he was over there with
12:04them Jezebels oh okay so I was with the good studious students that were very they had it they they had a
12:10a hustle studious yeah you call yourself studious so let me okay so we both are proud you know uh
12:17famu folks yeah highest of seven hills highest of seven hills tell us for shout out famu so I was in a
12:23dorm called Gibbs Hall okay they tended to put the scholarship students in Gibbs Hall I was yes and I was
12:29very proud I was yeah I was uh on scholarship was called life gets better our president at the time
12:34Dr. Frederick S. Humphries yep R.I.P. he was great and he went out and recruited folks like me
12:40who because I actually was going to go to an Ivy League school oh wow and that's why you know
12:45planned to do I wanted to go to actually Wharton at University of Pennsylvania I want to get my MBA
12:49and Dr. Humphries was saying I'm going to get the best and the brightest to start coming to famu you
12:55don't have to go to the Harvards and the Yales and the Pens and so he gave us scholarship money and we
13:00put us all in the same dorm so we were we were studious we were smart we got our grades we did
13:05that they took it seriously they were boring we did now there was another dorm oh okay oh which
13:10dorm is this this was Sampson and and and right next to was a dorm called Young okay now guess
13:16which dorm Orlando was in okay now the Sampson kids was over there they were at fam but it wasn't
13:23really about like school you know what I'm saying party and we ended up DJs you ask Sampson people
13:29when you gonna graduate ah you know anytime somebody hits you with that mean they don't know
13:34and probably don't really care you know what I'm saying so Orlando was in that dorm they was over there
13:40stealing cable yeah we did we stole cable from the room downstairs and worked it up a big shout out to
13:45Will that's out there at McDill right now listen is the statue of limitations up you out here snitching
13:52on people are you are we sure we should say this oh man you name a name that's right
13:58William Margaret oh he didn't put his government out there you know we family if I'm gonna tell on
14:03him he can't get in trouble William get your passport right get out of here now quick they on the way
14:07we majored in the set that's what we majored in exactly because Orlando was supposed to be a lawyer
14:12and then he turned DJ listen I was supposed to go to law school and it didn't work out that way
14:16daddy wasn't happy but we talked about you know what you found your passion though you found what you
14:21were supposed to do and you've now found your voice and you said the same thing that's there's
14:25a recurring message here and there's also a couple other gems because you know I explained we were
14:30watching uh about Alec Baldwin and this whole Russ deal and this has taught us something we didn't
14:35know about movies because the business side of it yes and you live that part of it these movies that
14:40you're behind ride along uh you know girls trip think like a man yeah you are in the office where you
14:46have to make sure these people are good yes the film the budget that you're watching lines of the
14:52business besides but behind the scenes yes and so when I looked at him being you know the charges
14:58being dropped I'm like wait a minute now I didn't think he was you know culpable of responsible for
15:04it but when you had the girls from girls trip the Jada Pinkett hanging off on the wire
15:09zip line yeah oh you got Idris out here with this this line yeah yeah you got to go through all of the
15:15stuff to make sure that they stay safe oh you had to find the line absolutely you you as the producer
15:21and that's what people don't think about they only think sometimes about like the athletes and
15:25entertainers the people that you see in front of the camera but I say especially to people that are
15:29looking for like what they want to do their passion their career anytime you see somebody that is in
15:35front of the camera somebody behind the camera is making decisions doing deals and probably making
15:40a lot of money doing it so let's keep an eye out for what is that business opportunity that you could
15:46have so you talked about rush you talked about like girls trip and all that yes I have to make sure that
15:51my sets are as safe as possible so that I'm not liable for something that could happen now things
15:57happen all the time on a movie set right it's really really rare for you to have a loss of life and
16:02that is the most tragic thing that can happen but we have to do every single thing possible
16:07to make sure that we're keeping everybody as safe as possible that's a big part of the business but
16:11by the way the same thing is true with like say a general manager on a football team or whoever your
16:16favorite rapper is who's managing them who's running that label who's the executive over I want people
16:21to think beyond just the folks that are in front of the camera nothing wrong with that at all and if
16:25you have that talent do it but that is such a minuscule percentage and there's so many opportunities
16:30for folks that are behind the camera behind the scenes that have to be really really smart yeah
16:34and here's the other thing I'll say to folks out there that feel like okay well I know I want to
16:37act I know I want to write I want I know I want to be a rapper that's fine get you somebody that has
16:41that business acumen get you somebody who can be next to you who will keep an eye on the books who
16:46will keep an eye because if you think they give me that money for that video and for that photo shoot
16:50and you think that's your money you need a better lawyer you need a better business person you need
16:54somebody next to you who can keep an eye on so you can go out and do your artist thing we tell people all the
16:59time when we talk in schools we're like man there's certain people we we look at who've done
17:03it well like you know I know you and Luda are tight and Luda put everybody through school and made them
17:09his team like yo hey you go into culinary art school now you're gonna be my chef elevated everybody open
17:13a restaurant together you know and not just your big homie is your bodyguard like you know like real
17:18folks with real careers so behind the scenes ends up being a lot more worthwhile because you're not
17:24just hot for two summers that's correct you know I'm saying Britney Spears might be up in front of the
17:28thing but the person who's managing her is living with a bunch of different clients absolutely absolutely
17:33and and fame is fleeting and we know that you know and so what you're going to do is I mean we were
17:37just talking a little bit off air you know you've been in this gang for 25 years yes how many rappers
17:42how many hot artists have come through your stations your platforms how many of them are still relevant
17:49every 18 months there's the new one that's how it works the new one coming through that's how it works
17:54whatever y'all jamming to right now on the radio I hope that artist lasts but in three years I
17:59wouldn't bet on it all right that's all I'm gonna say that's true it's just how it is these days
18:03especially yeah we are in here with Will Packer right now it's Will Packer day I'm just I mean I'm
18:08breaking all kind of rules now you hear that mama I made it you hear that my mama probably on the
18:13wrong station right now baby I was trying to listen you've made so many different movies and I mean
18:20your just your hands are in uh different areas I and you've worked with a lot of different comedians
18:24at the same time I mean just to throw a couple out there I'll just mention like Kevin Hart is there
18:28do you have like a favorite at all just because you have a more enjoyable experience yeah maybe you
18:35know what I like people who work hard okay I really really do I I the my favorites are the folks that
18:40have a tremendous work ethic right uh and Kevin Hart is definitely one of them you know I like to say I
18:46made all the good Kevin Hart movies all this movie's not good but the good ones I take responsibility
18:50for you wasn't involved with soul plan no nothing nothing to do with that I saved him from soul plan
18:55I tell him all the time he owes his career to me but somebody like that he's a hustler he's always
19:00gonna work hard I tell you a quick Kevin Hart story he had one of the biggest years of his life
19:05right where he had a sitcom on the air and he had a tour that had gotten picked up and at the end of
19:10that year he had made more money he ever had before but because of what had happened the years
19:16before his tax accountant came to him and said great congratulations you had a big year you only
19:22owe two hundred thousand dollars to the government now he was like what what are you talking about so
19:27he realized fame was fleeting by the way they canceled his sitcom that year right soul plan came out and
19:32bombed so he was at a point where people were not really checking for Kevin Hart he people think oh
19:37Kevin's always been big no not true same thing is true with somebody like Beyonce honestly
19:42Beyonce's work ethic I've had the opportunity to work with her a couple times she outworks everybody
19:47she's who she is for a reason because she works so so very hard and the Illuminati is another one
19:53who and the Illuminati well I'm not gonna comment on that sir that feels that's that feels
19:57inappropriate to reference right now are you in the Illuminati why didn't he go there I was
20:01I was talking about work ethic he's just winning they want to if she in it I'm in it so I don't
20:08know what that means just joking not in it we're gonna end up on tiktok going I mean it was a joke
20:14it was a joke I knew it was real you know you can't say something you can't even play with me
20:17it was a joke it's nice surrounding yourself with people that want to be successful and even though
20:23they become successful they still want to grind every single day and they also want to surround
20:27themselves with successful people at the same time because they say you are who you surround
20:30yourself with no question if you look at your team and you are the smartest you are the most
20:36successful you are the only one in your team that's going places right it may feel good but you need a
20:42better team yes you need people that are going to push you right you need people that are going to
20:46elevate you I tell people all the time you claim to be an eagle but if everybody around you is a duck
20:51you look like a duck I'm just gonna tell you when you talk it sound like quacking
20:55get you people that are going to soar like you can soar look at the folks around you we got bars in
21:01the building I love that that's a quotable right yes it is now now wait we got patty foot just got
21:06a shout out oh boy wow okay so now you know we're talking about samson and young yes so there's a
21:13little education for folks that don't know right so gibbs were smart people right will packer
21:17uh samson and and young right those are like the thieves that wasn't really trying to graduate
21:23people that was partying all the time orlando okay patty foot was a straight up thug that was
21:28you did not walk through patty foot at night oh my god patty foot they was only there to rob you
21:33okay that was you you end up at patty foot like this because you know how you get pizza ordered uh
21:39delivered to campus yeah the like dominoes those people they wouldn't deliver to patty foot
21:43because it was it was dark it was one way in one way out you know what i'm saying somebody was
21:47gonna get them somebody was gonna get them shout out to fam you i gotta i'm gonna catch flack for
21:53this orlando i knew i should have came up here with you that was way back they're gonna be like
21:57will pack up there i got an amputee in on campus now i love all things fam you i'm not you gotta go
22:02have me talking about my school listen i tell everybody because i went to both schools i went to fam and
22:07fsu and i will tell you them fam is responsible for a lot inside me like you know i'm saying i mean we joke
22:13about it taught us how to stand in lines because of financial aid and everything else but it's a
22:17lot in it like when you walk away with teachers that you remember like i told you vernon smith
22:21yes and uh attorney ravenel yes like you know i'm saying like people who i just remember that i'm
22:26like yo these colonel hobbs these people these people are like in like involved in my life the
22:31people who i grew up with i still have them as family and i know you feel the same way there's no
22:36question you know so that experience means so much that people don't necessarily understand it's not
22:41just being black yeah it's just it that's a major part of it yeah but to see so many people care
22:47about you and and and pour into you that's a major part it's the community orlando you hit it right
22:51on the head and i didn't want to go to fam you right i was you know coming out of school i was hot
22:55stuff you know what i mean i was top of my class api school you know and i was like i'm going to an
23:00ivy league and my parents were like you know where you're going you're going to fam you a they gave
23:05you a scholarship b you need that because you think you just this little smart black kid out here that can
23:10do no wrong right and you need to go and get some communal experience and you need that competition
23:15and you need to go to a place where you're not just special because you stand out because you're
23:18the one black kid in the honors class which i was right and they were my parents were like you need
23:22to go to a place where they're going to nurture you and exactly what you just said orlando is so
23:26true about hbcus across the country and that's the thing i tell people it doesn't have to be for
23:30everybody but for those of us that do go we have a very different experience because you feel loved you
23:34feel nurtured you feel like there's somebody actually gives a damn about you at that school and that's
23:39not the case everywhere no absolutely all right now wait we only got a couple more minutes because
23:42i know you got a lot to do uh i gotta work on this pitch brother because now you got me nervous
23:47y'all came up and asked have you been warming up i was like no should i listen you got to work on the
23:51pitch because i threw out the pitch how'd you do did you make the plate i bounced you didn't make it to
23:55the plate i bounced it and so many people they booed me i ran out there they cheer are you serious
24:02they booed me and i mean people were like yo oh land do i listen to you ever it bounced and they
24:07were like okay all right the pressure's on listen yeah you better get wherever i will go from hometown
24:11hero to take your ass back to hollywood quick huh okay let me tell you true story the last time this
24:17is actually my second time being able to throw an opening pitch the last time this is why i gotta do
24:21good because the rays are hot right now right i can't mess it up you can't last time i threw a pitch
24:25was for the braves the year they won the world series oh my goodness true story wow so i'm not
24:32saying it's me but if i threw this pitch and the rays win the world series oh my gosh i'm gonna start
24:38charging for these services you know what i'm saying champa bay people champa bay baby
24:41i have a quick question that i just want to hit on really fast okay and it's been talked about but i
24:48need to know i need to talk to you about orlando here come you you produced the last well not the
24:54last oscars but the ones before that the most important i mean the one that was interesting
24:59last year was kind of boring guys let's be honest the one that what what in the hell happened can
25:05you break it down backstage all right we out of time sounds like that's the that's the time somebody
25:09said it gotta go rock will smith i mean like where were you when that happened i was right so so okay
25:15so i'm up here i'm actually here my producing partner shayla cowan is here and and we actually are
25:20the first all black producing team to produce the oscars absolutely i was so excited and hype about
25:26that and we was having a good show yeah you know i had meg the stallion out there dj callid i had a
25:32dj in the in the arena and everything was going swimmingly as we say wearing oscar gold on your
25:38suit i had on a tux i was ready to go so i'm literally right backstage so i'm at the place where
25:43when all the people come off stage they actually see me i'm one of the first people they see when they
25:47come off stage chris goes up he starts his set because it's a live show and it's such a big show
25:52you rehearse that show over and over and over again so i knew what everybody was going to say
25:56yeah chris immediately went off book now it's chris rock i'm not worried about it it's chris rock
26:01it's coming too for comedians to do that absolutely and if anybody is going to go off book and be
26:05great it's going to be chris rock he immediately went off book he told a jada joke right she didn't
26:10laugh i'm back there because we got to figure out who you're going to cut to what you're going to show
26:13we show jada she clearly did not like that joke i was like okay that was kind of weird all right
26:18chris bring it back right yeah then it happens right will walks up on that stage hi guys i thought
26:25it was a bit that they had done and not told us about i literally thought this is a skit and i'm
26:31back there and on the mic and i turned to shayla and i said well that wasn't that funny so we gotta
26:35like what how do you come back from that like they gotta okay guys come on do so the slap you
26:40actually happened and you were like oh absolutely oh you thought when he came off stage the i came
26:46up i was the first person to talk to chris i said did he did he slap you did he really he said hell
26:51yeah he said muhammad ali just just punched the s out of me i said oh my gosh and we and people were
26:57like well you know you showed it like meaning us producing it but you gotta understand with live tv
27:01it's like a tennis match you just follow the ball and so we we had to be on chris we had to cut to will
27:07because we didn't know what he was yelling from the audience and when you're producing live
27:10television you just gotta go to the action once we saw him cussing once we saw him say keep my
27:15i said oh this is real yeah he is unhappy did your heart just sink oh i said not like this i literally
27:23that single denzel tear rolled down my cheek because this was my moment and we was having our time and this
27:28was the the the oscars for for people of color to shine yeah it was a night it was wakanda if two white
27:34people slapped each other it was i don't want white on white crime but just just this one time
27:40like come on brad pitt come over there and slap matthew mcconaughey one like i need it not will and
27:47chris guys yeah now let me ask you when the jada joke hit did you laugh well i'm so busy doing i know
27:57what you're getting at orlando but i'm saying like was it because because because will laughed he and the
28:02crowd laughed because it was like it was a middle joke it wasn't a big hit yeah but i'm like did
28:06did it can i tell you a secret of comedy which which you probably know a lot of people don't
28:11comedy is actually all about reaction in real life so so ice cube i worked with cube a bunch of times
28:16cuba's worked with kevin hardin and uh cat williams chris tucker right because he's a great reaction guy
28:22when you watch movies everybody is listening to me watch this next time you watch your funny show that
28:26you like your funny movie it's about the reaction that tells you how to feel about the joke
28:30right your greatest comedians have great reaction people so the joke was funny to some people orlando
28:36but the reaction made it cringe because we immediately cut to jada who did not laugh right
28:43rolled her eyes it was upset reactions are very important right so for me it wasn't about was it
28:48funny or not it was about did it land and you're right in the room people laughed will laugh but the
28:54reaction we showed was cringe which immediately took the air out of that joke so just a little producer
28:59behind the scenes kind of thing and once she did that i was like it's awkward everybody feels that
29:05you know will you know went on stage and i said oh and then he yelled on the stage and i said oh kill
29:11me now they're like where'd you get that pepto bismol do you think um security should have taken will
29:19out of because essentially he did assault somebody up on stage yeah well you know what that we we got
29:24into that because ultimately it was a decision he was about to then um win you know he was up for the
29:31big award and a lot of people thought that if he goes up and cleans it up and does like a big apology
29:37it could be okay you know so the conversation was had the decision was made you know what
29:42it it to to remove him right in that moment was not the thing to do that was not what was decided to
29:48do and that's an executive decision you have to make as well so you don't get to enjoy the show
29:52oh no everything that's happening you're living it and it's in real time you know so you can always
29:56look back and say oh you should have did this should have did that you know you did the best
29:59that we could given everything it's live television you never know what's gonna happen you know and
30:02it is what it is that just took over the world for a while so thank you so much i'm sorry no it's
30:07fine we talked about it happened by the way you know what the big lesson is you never know what's
30:11gonna happen you gotta be able to move past first of all you gotta be able to think quick on your
30:15feet make the best decision you can at the time and then move past it i'm still very proud of that
30:19show i'm telling y'all go back and look at that oscars other than that by the way that the ratings
30:24were up right and not because it's not happening too late if i knew this i was gonna happen i'd
30:28put it at the top of the show i'm just gonna tell you that now but we had beyonce do the open you
30:32know i mean it was a great show so i'm still very proud of it's very diverse show i'm proud of that
30:37as well listen i i just want to make sure because i know you got a lot of running to do you in the
30:41city this is not just your day for now but i gotta tell you this is your day all day because you
30:47have you've given a lot of inspiration for these people who are listening we're going to make sure
30:51this is shared on our socials on our web that's because i love the fact that people who are out
30:56there who don't know their way just heard that you didn't either and looking at you shine that's
31:01incredible now the last thing i just want to ask you is you know we talked about when you were in the
31:05car headed to school here and you had dreams and things yes now that you've achieved all of this
31:11do you still dream and do you still have i mean because it feels like with this success they're more
31:16like plans now but you still have dreams when you stop dreaming you die dreams are all we have
31:23so i don't care if you are on your way to elementary school right now or on the way to a big job that you
31:29love or hate it doesn't matter you gotta keep dreaming i still dream i dream big in color there
31:33are other things i want to do big things i want to do things within the industry things outside the
31:37industry so you gotta keep dreaming no matter what no matter what level you're at listen to me
31:42i am very blessed i'm very very happy in my life i still dream every day i still got things i want
31:47to accomplish things i go for and i still work hard every day to accomplish my dreams true story
