00:00what is up guys it's doo-doo poker back for another video today we're going to be doing
00:08button versus big blind single raise pot
00:13from both perspectives both the check raise bet bet and the bet call call decide river okay so
00:23i'm going to give you a hand i'm going to give us ace king we're on the button right now okay
00:27very common spot we decide to raise 2.5x big blind calls okay so the board comes ace of spades six
00:36of diamonds four clubs first thing we should note not a range bet not even close okay a lot of hands
00:44don't want to bet kings queens uh king high stuff like that okay but we have ace king we like our
00:50hand we're going to bet one third first thing you should note look at the check raise sizing
00:59okay now
01:01something to take into account here just because we don't check raise
01:09high frequency does not mean you use big sizing because if this was a monotone board you would
01:16go low frequency but also low sizing your check raise frequency is based on your target okay
01:22what is our target here well our target is ace x this is why you don't check raise 50 because if
01:30you check raise 50 all ace x calls so we want to have a purpose with our check raise okay so we go huge
01:40all right but what do you notice when we go huge this is very counterintuitive
01:47ace king becomes a zero ev continue you're supposed to fold ace king at some frequency
01:55versus a 6x check raise do you think anyone's doing this probably not right another thing you notice
02:03that's that's very counterintuitive unless you think about it is that ace 5 and 7 6 are pure calls
02:13these are better calls than ace king why because the king does not connect with the 6 and the 4
02:22there's no synergy between the 6 and the 4 and the king with a 5 we have a lot of good turns any 2
02:28any 3 any 5 any 7 any 8 right so any backdoor flush draw so lots of good turns mean more calling
02:38lots of bad turns mean more folding okay so let's see what mda says here okay so mda they're check
02:47raising about the gto percentage now that does not mean the range composition is the same
02:53but people have studied these spots enough to know a good check raise percentage okay so mda there's
03:00no significant um let's look at the over folds actually so let's look at let's see if there's
03:06an over fold so we see there is a slight over fold but it's not that significant okay so if you're the
03:13big blind here know that in the aggregate there's a slight over fold but also know we'll get to this
03:22later on a side boards there is more of an over fold than the aggregate so they they fold more
03:29on a side boards so let's go back to our ace king so we're stubborn we don't really understand the
03:35spot okay so we call right so we call so turn now something interesting happens on the turn turn six
03:42hearts our opponent that's 75 pot okay
03:47now do you see what happens now ace five is always folded but ace king is always called so it's switched
03:56it's switched why because we want our opponent to have five three suited seven five suited five two suited
04:06right all these hands that are bluffs the five blocks the bluffs so we don't want ace five but we want
04:12ace king okay so we have ace king and we call again now we get to the river river's a 10
04:23our opponent jams all in okay so we have we have ace king so i'm going to ask you a question
04:33do you think we should call or fold here and don't tell me rng you only rng when you don't
04:42understand the spot or you don't have mda for the spot but we have mda so we can be better than an rng
04:47so let's let's look at the whole range let's let's back up a minute and look at the whole range
04:52do you think ace 10 is folding if you're the big blind now i'm switching back and forth because i'm
05:00doing both perspectives do you think ace 10 folds probably not do you think six five trips
05:07folds probably not right i don't i don't really see six five folding ever okay so let's go back because
05:18everything is everything connects okay so let's go to mda for check raise bet bet okay
05:25i actually want to show you this too this is the turn i forgot to show you this but this is uh there's
05:32no significant over folds in the turn if you're the big blind but let's go to check raise bet bet so i
05:39have ace king right so keep this number in your mind 29 week check raise a 30 bet bet turn bet river
05:49okay so 29 week we have to go to filters let's go to filters what do we see from the filters
05:58well let's go to a side boards
06:00remember the average is 29 week what do you see 22 week that means it's under bluffed let's go to even
06:11more filters river paired on middle low before the river a side board 20 week two data points that say
06:18it's under bluffed right so now we go back so we know it's under bluffed now we get to fold our
06:27ace king so you never want to call this okay you always want to fold here in in gameplay because it's
06:34very under bluffed on two data points okay that's from the buttons perspective now let me go to the big
06:39blinds perspective from the big blind well we know let's say you have five three so you have five
06:47three here okay we're deciding whether or not we want to bluff river well we know the flop is over
06:54folded okay but then once the flop is over folded the turn becomes over called and then the river
07:02becomes over called because theory is supposed to fold ace 10 6 5 suited at some frequency population
07:08is not doing that population is not going to fold ace 10 population is not going to fold
07:12six five population might not even fold ace king very likely not right so all these hands are going
07:19to call you so you should not bluff so now we know once you understand the theory and you combine it
07:27with the mda you become bulletproof because you understand from every direction okay so now in the
07:33future if we have ace king on the button versus check raise bet bet we fold and if we're the big blind
07:39and we're deciding whether or not the bluff river we never bluff because they're going to over call
07:43all right guys i know there's a lot to take in but it was fun and hopefully everyone learned
07:49something and i will see you in the next video
