00:00what's up guys it's doo-doo poker here back for another video today we are going to be talking
00:11about cutoff first big blind single raise pot okay i played a hand and i went down the rabbit
00:20hole on this hand and i i think you guys are going to like what i found so let's get into it
00:26all right so i'm going to give us what did i have in this hand i'm going to give us ace four of
00:33diamonds okay ace four of diamonds we're in the cutoff we raise folds to the big blind big blind
00:41calls flop comes king of clubs king of hearts six of hearts okay so we know this is a range bet
00:49for basically one third flop is really easy okay so i decide to one third range big blind calls okay
01:01now the turn is a 10 of clubs okay now here's where things get interesting
01:10so you don't over bet here okay this is the first thing to note you don't usually over bet on these
01:20um these trip boards like when there's a pair on the board over betting is much much less right
01:29unless the pair is like not relevant like deuce deuce or something okay but king king is very
01:35relevant okay so we don't have an over bet range okay so you mostly want to bet 50 here okay but look
01:45at some of our bluffs that are not intuitive we're barreling hands like ace four suited okay
01:52ace seven suited ace eight suited ace nine suited okay because we're gonna have bluffs on a lot of rivers
02:01right we're gonna have we need ace x because we want to have bluffs on a broadway river we want to
02:09bluff a queen we want to bluff a jack okay and this blocks ace queen okay so i have ace four diamonds
02:18in game i bet 75 but i actually i learned that bet 50 is a better sizing so let's say i bet 50 okay
02:25okay so now our opponent calls again all right now the river is a king of spades okay interesting river
02:35now what do you notice
02:39i notice that sevens ace seven ace eight and ace nine are not
02:48bluffed but ace four is bluffed why why is ace four bluffed but ace seven ace eight and ace nine
02:58aren't because we want our opponent to have sevens eights and nines okay so in game
03:06i decided to bet 150 which is solver approved okay so in game i bet 150
03:13so i'm gonna show you the hand and then we're gonna go back okay so i bet one third on the flop
03:21or one fourth turn i bet a little too big but that's okay and then river i overbet and he calls
03:25okay so he called me down with nine six of clubs okay so this is a zero ev call for him
03:30okay so in the future against this guy i can't bluff as much because he's calling too quickly with zero ev
03:40calls we have a lot of history together so he knows i over bluff in a lot of spots so in the future
03:46i will have to be more careful but the important thing for me well a couple a couple of important
03:55points one my sizing was good so you mostly want to go 150 or 50 so i went 150 two you don't do it
04:05with ace seven ace eight and ace nine but another even some more surprising thing to me was when
04:15i go 150 look at how big blind responds remember this is the triple barrel line okay this is what big
04:24blind does big blind does big blind never jams king x never look it only min raises what's even more
04:36fascinating look at sevens eights and nines you're supposed to turn sevens eights and nines into a bluff
04:45sometimes okay no one's doing this okay so watch this so i let's say i have sevens eights or nines
04:55and i somehow know this spot you raise cutoff is supposed to start folding aces queens and jacks now
05:03do i think aces queens and jacks fold i don't know i don't know this this is such an esoteric spot but it
05:11it shows you two things that are really important in theory the first thing is
05:19big blind is never supposed to jam that's really interesting because our target it makes sense if
05:30you think about it i mean everything makes sense after you think about it but you're not targeting
05:35king x because the king x obviously jams it has quads it has the nuts so we're targeting
05:40the strong boats right so you're what you're doing here is you're raising a zero ev call
05:50and you do the same thing with six x okay so we're basically targeting jacks queens and aces
06:04now i've never seen anyone make this playing game this would be amazing play i don't even know
06:10if it's a good play but what's important is that we don't jam and maybe aces queens and jacks fold i
06:21have no idea but those are the two really important things going over the sand because i i would never
06:28even think to not jam king x here right but once you understand how the ranges interact you never
06:35jam if you have quads you never jam and you turn now i think if i'm thinking about this more i think i
06:46would jam nines eights and sevens yeah i think i would as an exploit i'm saying because i think the
06:55min raise would be it would be too easy for your opponent to just call getting like five to one
07:00right it'd be just too easy for him but if you jam if you jam nines to put aces queens and jacks
07:08in a zero ev spot i think i think that would be better so yeah this hand was uh this is a hand i lost
07:18but i learned a lot well i learned a lot about this specific villain and i learned a lot about
07:22the spot so i wanted to relay that to you guys um it's always important when you're in a spot that
07:29you don't really normally get into to try to think about your bluffs because value is very easy everyone
07:34can bet value right if even the guy that first started playing poker can bet value what you want
07:39to look for is bluffs and you also want to know why you're doing it right so we always try to look for
07:44bluffs first and then value just naturally comes all right guys um please subscribe to the channel
