A man pleads guilty to dangerous driving due to loud music.

Blasting tunes can evidently have a dangerous effect on drivers.

A man in Portishead, UK was pulled over for driving erratically.

Police had been following the vehicle, watching as it ambled through back streets, crawled through red lights and made a sharp turn, causing the van to rock on its chassis. Once stopped, the male was pulled from the vehicle and arrested, but an officer soon concluded that the driver was not drunk or on drugs.

Instead, the hazardous maneuvering was caused by music. The case made it to court, where the man pled guilty to dangerous driving.

The defense attorney stated “It was stupid. He was carried away because of the intoxicating effects of drum and bass music.”

Earlier this year, a study concluded that the type of music playing in the car can influence the chances of getting into an accident. A psychologist involved with the research said "Music that is noisy, upbeat and increases your heart rate is a deadly mix. Fast beats can cause excitement and arousal that can lead people to concentrate more on the music than on the road."
