Taking Too Many Supplements Could Lead To Higher Cancer Risk
According to recently presented research, participants who took more than the daily prescribed doses of certain supplements including beta carotene, folic acid, and vitamin E showed a higher risk of cancer and other health issues in some cases.
According to a review presented at the American Association for Cancer Research annual meeting, taking a higher than recommended dose of daily dietary supplements could result in a greater risk of cancer.
The research included reviews of several long running trials. In one, consuming beta carotene supplements in combination with vitamin A may have led to an increased chance of lung cancer and heart disease.
