Some Drag Curls with 135lb. Did these a bit differently with the thumbs on the same side as the fingers. Doing so forced my palm over (supination) more. Since turning the palm up (Supination) IS the primary function of the Biceps, placing the thumb alongside the fingers is already ensuring you're getting a more intense contraction: and you haven't even lifted the weight yet!! Make NO MISTAKE, this is as much driving the shoulders & elbows up as it is curling the bar as far up the torso as you can. Not only is this type of Curl great for working the Lower Biceps but, for me, it helps get my Biceps Tendon seated in the Biceptal Groove of the upper arm. Yeah, there's actually a groove in you arm bone where your Biceps Tendon is supposed to be. IF it gets rolled out of the groove which can happen from heavy Bench Press work, it can wreak havoc with your shoulder. This problem is often misdiagnosed as tendonitis. Lastly, look at the finish. Does that look like it could help you warm up your arch for some Bench Pressing?? Imagine an exercise that could make your shoulders feel better, help prevent them from hurting in the first place AND get you ready to arch on some Bench Presses. Sure seems like it'd be worth trying out for a few weeks to me..... Good Luck & God Bless!!
