00:00 >> What kind of changed, I mean, we talked to you earlier in the off season about
00:03 the contract situation, what changed maybe the second time around?
00:07 How do you feel like you've been up there?
00:10 >> Yeah, I spoke to you guys earlier in the off season,
00:14 told you guys we were in a good place.
00:16 I didn't speak to you guys about it, but I kind of did it on the podcast,
00:21 whatever about really not making this emotional thing.
00:25 Really just trying to make the best out of the situation that you're presented with.
00:28 That's what I've done my whole life.
00:30 So obviously, the restructuring of the contract.
00:36 But one thing I do know that it definitely helps out the team a lot.
00:39 And at the end of the day, we're trying to build a championship roster.
00:42 And I wouldn't have came back here, or I wouldn't have done what I've done if I
00:46 didn't think that we would have an opportunity to go win some ball games.
00:49 So that's what it's about for me, and I'm happy to be back.
00:52 I've told you guys multiple times, this is my legacy.
00:54 I wanted to be here, so just glad we were able to get it done.
00:57 >> If you're here next year, you come out the same, correct?
01:00 >> What do you mean?
01:01 >> The money is moved around in a way that if you play this year,
01:04 next year under this contract, you come out fiscally the same.
01:07 >> Yeah, I mean, we'll deal with next year, when next year comes around.
01:10 As of right now, I'm just gonna focus on this year and
01:14 try to make the best out of this year as I possibly can.
01:16 Help this team win a championship and play my behind off for this team.
01:20 That's what I said, it's my job to be the best safety I possibly can be.
01:22 And we'll deal with next year as next year comes.
01:25 >> Was the addition of DeAndre and maybe making some cap room for
01:28 him a part of that, your mission to make this a championship roster?
01:33 >> Yeah, at the end of the day, it's all about winning ballgames.
01:35 And you kind of understand that as you get older as a player,
01:38 the business side of football, you be able to build a championship roster.
01:42 And that's what it's about here.
01:43 It's about winning ballgames.
01:44 It's not about, at times it's time to be selfish, but at the end of the day,
01:48 it's about building a team.
01:49 And I'm a team leader, and I wanna win first and foremost.
01:51 I've said this multiple times, I wanna help bring a championship to Nashville.
01:55 And that's what we plan on doing.
