Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel met with the media on Tuesday and talked about their lack of interceptions all year.

00:00 >> More product of DBs need to make more plays or
00:03 the pass rush needs to force more back throws?
00:08 >> Both, I mean, or tips and passes.
00:11 I mean, tip passes get picked.
00:12 So that's something that we always continue to try to emphasize.
00:17 But it's never gonna be about one specific.
00:21 And also, we've had our hands on some footballs.
00:25 >> Making plays.
00:25 >> Yeah, you gotta make the ones that you're supposed to make.
00:30 You gotta catch the ones you get your hands on.
00:33 We always say in man coverage, it's not about getting interceptions.
00:36 It's about not letting your man catch the ball.
00:38 And then if we're in the zone, we have to be able to break and
00:42 try to make a play on the football.
00:44 And then obviously the pass rush plays a part in that.
00:48 I mean, we go back and forth.
00:49 Is it not getting there fast enough?
00:52 Are they throwing it before we get there?
00:56 It's a fine balance of trying to work together to create all disruption.
01:01 We always say that.
01:02 Trying to work together.
01:03 >> I know you miss a lot with Jeffrey out, but
01:05 that was one of the things he seemed to excel at, was getting his hands up.
01:09 >> Well, and we've had some other opportunities.
01:11 I mean, we've tried.
01:13 And guys that have tackled the quarterback, whether the quarterback falls on it,
01:18 whether Arden hits it out and it falls and the quarterback recovers it.
01:23 But you do see a lot of tip balls get intercepted.
01:29 And that's something that I think is a fine line and a balance between rushing.
01:35 And then also seeing that front hand, knowing that you're not there, and
01:40 sliding back into a throwing lane.
01:42 And when that front hand comes off, trying to go up and match.
01:46 We don't want guys that just stand at the line of scrimmage and hop up and down.
01:51 I don't think that does anything.
01:52 But also, I think there is something to try to work into the pocket and
01:56 being able to get into those throwing lanes and try to tip a ball.
02:00 So that helps as well.
02:02 >> Micah said Sunday, you didn't really know about the injuries and
02:06 why they've come the way they've come the last three years now.
02:12 Do you think that luck plays into it as much as anything?
02:17 >> I mean, I don't know how it wouldn't with some of the ones that we've had.
02:22 Whether that's a guy falling on somebody's MCL or
02:28 a guy getting dragged down as a gunner, hurting his knee, Colton's instance.
02:34 And I just, we don't want everyone to put our players in
02:41 any sort of harm's way, I mean, the injuries that have occurred to
02:44 the quarterbacks are unfortunate.
02:48 We know nothing good comes from when a quarterback gets hit.
02:55 So again, we'll have an opportunity to, at some point in time,
03:01 discuss all those and certainly wanna do everything that we can
03:07 to avoid soft tissue injuries.
03:10 But I don't know what the answer is sometimes to guys
03:16 falling into other people's legs out there on a football field or
03:23 hurting something else.
03:28 So we're gonna continue to evaluate that and
03:31 try to get the guys back as quickly as possible when they do have an injury.
03:36 >> What do you think the rest of that is?
