00:00 Titans fans welcome in to a week to tick-tack-4-pack
00:04 We're gonna take a look at the top four plays from the Tennessee Titans offense in their week to win over the Los Angeles Chargers
00:11 I want to take a look at both of the deep
00:13 bombs that Ryan Tannehill delivered one in the first half to trailing Burke's and then one in the second half to Chris Moore because Tim Kelly
00:20 Brilliantly took advantage of a coverage that he got from the Chargers multiple times on first down
00:26 So what we're gonna do is we're gonna take a look at the Chargers defensive alignment as they sit right here
00:32 They have one deep safety here, but this safety is walked up
00:36 Okay, and that's important the Titans know what they're getting what the Chargers are gonna end up doing here schematically is
00:43 They're gonna go ahead and have Derwin James jump up and this man who's a Sante Samuel jr
00:49 Is gonna turn this into cover to invert and cover to invert is whenever you have anybody
00:55 But the safety as the deep half so they're gonna drop the cornerback here
00:59 Into the deep half with this safety over on this side of the field and what what's key is here what they're trying to do
01:05 Is they want to leave this safety over top of the better receiving option and that in their mind is obviously
01:11 DeAndre Hopkins, so we're gonna go ahead and let the play
01:14 Unfold here play action pass outside zone play action
01:19 Keep that in mind here as we as we continue breaking down the play, but you can see
01:23 the Titans have a one-on-one matchup right now with
01:28 Traylen Burks and this cornerback because the Chargers are invert cover too
01:33 Which means this cornerback is responsible for the deep half which it basically just creates a one-on-one opportunity
01:39 For Traylen Burks to get past the guy that that that's what the Titans are taking advantage of here
01:44 And one thing that I want to point out is go back real quick
01:47 Look at Traylen Burks and how he sells the route. He's slow. He's so he's so boom
01:51 Right as he puts his foot in his ground about and the 36 or 37
01:55 He kicks on the afterburners and literally goes right past a Asante Samuel jr
02:00 For a huge cats get some yards after catch sets up the Titans first touchdown of the year
02:07 but outside zone one thing that I want to kind of show you guys here that
02:11 Again, it's Tim Kelly taking advantage of something that we saw schematically from the Los Angeles Chargers in the first half
02:19 What the Chargers were doing is they were covering up
02:22 in
02:23 The interior they were really trying to cover up the interior of the Titans so the Titans couldn't get any inside runs
02:30 Well, if you're gonna try to cover up the interior that's gonna lead to outside opportunities off the tackle
02:36 Well, the Titans were running outside zone or they were running pool plays to the outside trying to get onto the perimeter throughout the first half
02:43 So that makes it critical that when the Titans go to run this play-action fake
02:47 It's a run that they have been using throughout the first half and that's outside zone
02:52 So you see Tannehill execute the outside zone fake perfect pocket
02:56 Nobody around him Tannehill can just sit back look and throw it again one-on-one matchup with trailing Berks going down the field because of the
03:03 cover to invert
03:05 Gotta take advantage beautiful dot longest throw in the NFL this year
03:09 Shout out to Ryan Tannehill who does not care about my concerns about his arm strength at this moment in time
03:15 But we're gonna see something very similar here too tight end
03:18 Look play-action pass and again guys the same thing from the Chargers. They roll down their safety
03:26 They keep this safety deep who's a better player Berks or Chris Moore?
03:30 It's Berks, so they keep the deep safety over Berks roll down the backside safety
03:35 Which again creates a one-on-one matchup between Chris Moore and the cornerback
03:42 It's literally the same exact defensive coverage. The Titans are gonna take advantage with play-action. Boom Ryan Tannehill
03:49 One-on-one matchup and look how Chris Moore here presses to the outside
03:54 He stays pressing to the outside and what that's gonna do is when he does stick his foot in the ground and come back inside
04:00 That's gonna give him even more room for Tannehill to deliver it to him
04:05 And that's exactly what we see happen more presses the outside boom starts to come back in at about the 43 44
04:12 Comes inside and he's further enough away from this other safety and Tannehill can lead him inside keeping him away from the safety
04:17 That's guarding him. That's excellent. But what I want to point out here is the Titans faked
04:22 Outside zone on that last play-action pass the one to Berks little accident there
04:29 But anyways, we're moving right along
04:31 play-action pass to Berks on this one
04:34 They fake
04:37 Inside zone because the Chargers started widening widening out their defensive front
04:43 They were stacked in the middle at the beginning of the game. So the Titans were running outside
04:46 But in the second half the Titans saw that they were widening out a little bit
04:51 So the Titans started running inside zone and duo up the middle
04:55 Well now the Titans don't fake the outside zone because they haven't been running that in the second half. They fake the inside zone
05:05 Mirroring what run plays they're calling Tannehill with a beautiful throw to the inside. What a catch by Chris Moore right there
05:12 That's absolutely
05:14 fantastic stuff same coverage invert cover two with the safety walk down and
05:19 Tannehill takes advantage of a one-on-one opportunity on play-action that mirrors the type of runs that they've been running in each specific half
05:28 That was six minutes left in the fourth quarter. That was a huge play, but let's talk about the two touchdowns
05:35 In the red zone. Well, the Titans scored three touchdowns in the red zone
05:38 but the two touchdowns from Tannehill in the red zone because
05:40 They both showcase the wizardry of Tim Kelly and what he's able to cook up here. So
05:47 Right here. This one is just absolutely fantastic
05:50 So you have Berks or you have Spears and Henry in the backfield?
05:56 Okay, and what's gonna happen here is the Titans are gonna fake a handoff to
06:02 Tajay Spears and watch Chris Hubbard pull
06:06 To the
06:09 opposite side of
06:11 Where the play is gonna go watch Chris Hubbard's pull right here because it basically sets up everything and this is an incredible wrinkle
06:18 from Tim Kelly
06:20 Hubbard pulls now if you're on defense if you play defensive football in your life
06:26 And you played the defensive line when your man pulls
06:29 You follow him because you're probably going to the ball follow your man if he pulls
06:34 well, the defensive end does that and you see the run fake to Spears and
06:39 It totally opens up room for Tannehill and Henry to hit this option over here
06:46 Okay, this is this is high level design. So not only that but look at the linebackers
06:52 Look at the linebackers inside Spears inside Spears. Oh, there's a pull
06:57 It's got to be an inside run the safety looking inside and then look at all of this room
07:04 Right here. So the pull from Hubbard the fake to Spears
07:09 Absolutely huge and then watch Ryan Tannehill from here
07:14 Fake pitch and it just looks subtle right here. It looks but let's look at it from the other angle
07:20 Look at this fake pitch from Tannehill. Look at that defensive lineman. I
07:25 Mean look at this guy right here. He is cooked. He is absolutely cooked. I mean Kenneth Murray still looking inside. He's confused
07:33 So watch this fake pitch from Tannehill though
07:36 Boom fake Derwin James commits to Henry
07:41 Gives Tannehill the lane puts it in
07:44 Absolutely fantastic stuff from Ryan Tannehill. This is one of the biggest plays of the game again red zone
07:50 It's third down in the red zone. The Titans are down. They have to score to take the lead third down in the red zone
07:58 This is absolutely monstrous and Ryan Tannehill and Tim Kelly both get so much credit for this play-action fake
08:05 Holds the second level
08:08 Westbrook Aquina
08:12 Dives inside on the slant and gets it but we got to look at it from the other angle to truly appreciate
08:17 How great this play is so Tannehill boom play-action fake now look Tannehill right here on the fake he checks
08:24 Hey, am I gonna have this am I gonna have this right here?
08:28 I don't know. So he checks right there and look at Nick Westbrook Aquina. He goes up and acts like he's blocking. This is
08:34 Well, well done from NWI from a technique standpoint and selling this stock block on the run
08:42 Helps sell the play-action, you know what I mean? So play-action Tannehill now look look right when Tannehill comes out of the play-action fake
08:50 He's looking straightforward
08:52 now there may not be anybody there but what that does is that holds 31 and
08:57 Specifically that holds this safety right here because if this safety comes over here to threaten this
09:04 That's the only way that this play is getting beat. Okay, so Tannehill even though there's nobody there
09:10 holds the safety with his eyes and
09:12 You could see the safety
09:14 hesitate just a little bit and
09:16 Then Tannehill finds Westbrook Aquina in a small way
09:19 Absolutely excellent stuff from Tim Kelly fantastic design in the red zone
09:24 Great job to take advantage of what the defense is giving you
09:27 Schematically on early downs with the play-action bombs and then great job by Tannehill on the execution
09:32 That's this week's Tic Tac 4-pack
