00:00 You wanted to come in?
00:00 When I first got him, he was very unsure of doors.
00:03 Sid, what do you want?
00:04 He couldn't quite understand that doors open
00:06 and things exit.
00:08 I am Leah, and this is Sid's story for Dia Beats.
00:11 Sid was my 17th foster.
00:13 Kiss.
00:14 The shelter had actually named him Sad.
00:17 What's wrong?
00:18 He does have that face that looks like
00:20 he is always thinking about something,
00:22 even though he probably is not thinking about anything.
00:25 You wanna come out here?
00:26 I saw that picture and I said,
00:27 "Yes, absolutely, I will foster him."
00:29 I had him for about two months,
00:30 and I just, I couldn't, I couldn't give him up.
00:34 And they were like, "Okay, he's yours."
00:36 And I was like, "Great, he's mine."
00:38 He came in as an owner surrender.
00:41 I just think whoever had him,
00:43 either they couldn't afford to take care of him,
00:45 or he had just kind of run off
00:47 and nobody went looking for him.
00:49 Catch it.
00:50 He was very underweight.
00:51 He was about 58 pounds at the time,
00:53 and now he's 75 pounds.
00:55 He says, "I know you're talking about me."
00:57 What makes him just so entertaining and lovable,
01:00 he'll do something and it's just like,
01:01 "Why did you think that that was a normal thing to do?"
01:05 He'll stare at himself in any reflection.
01:08 He loves mirrors.
01:12 We have skylights in our living room.
01:15 He'll say goodnight to the moon dog
01:16 because he doesn't understand how he's up there,
01:18 but he's also down here.
01:20 Say goodnight, moon doggy.
01:21 And he looks, he'll look in the window and just stare.
01:25 I always say, "How did something like this get created?"
01:28 Come and join us.
01:29 Come on.
01:30 He does this thing where if he knows you,
01:33 a lot of my friends or my boyfriend's friends
01:35 and my brother who he's in love with,
01:36 he'll sit and he'll just lean back.
01:38 If there's something that seems a little suspicious,
01:46 like a couple of nights ago in our front yard,
01:48 just one plant was sticking out in a concerning manner.
01:51 He couldn't accept that this plant
01:53 was sticking out like this.
01:54 He barked at it a couple of times.
01:55 It didn't bark back.
01:56 Okay, then it's probably safe.
01:57 Booger, it's just the wind.
01:59 It's moving the leaves, bud.
02:01 I don't know what's going on up there.
02:04 [laughs]
02:06 I don't know.
02:09 I just don't know.
02:10 It didn't move.
02:11 If we have things leaning up against the wall
02:14 that he's not sure about,
02:15 he will bolt past it to get to where he's going.
02:18 When we're going out, he's gotta try to catch the bugs.
02:20 If it's a bee, he will try to get the bee,
02:22 but then the bee will come towards him
02:23 and he'll be like, "Oh my God.
02:24 "Okay, okay."
02:26 He's a hit wherever he goes.
02:28 We had a big street festival last weekend
02:30 and we couldn't go more than two feet
02:32 without somebody stopping us to say hello to him.
02:34 But he was having the time of his life.
02:35 He was like, "More attention, more attention."
02:37 He's like a once in a lifetime dog.
02:39 Come on out here.
02:42 He's got a big head, big paws,
02:44 and then a normal-sized body.
02:46 And it just looks like somebody
02:48 Photoshopped his head and his paws
02:49 to just be like a little bit too big.
02:52 The proportions are off with this one.
02:55 That's for sure.
02:55 Please.
02:56 He is just a miracle.
02:59 Everything he does, it's just amazing.
03:01 He is a limited edition.
03:03 He's my little soul man.
03:05 You want us to go inside?
03:06 Okay.
03:08 (dog snorts)
03:10 (gentle music)
03:13 (gentle music)
