00:00 Titans fans welcome to another Tic Tac Titans film breakdown. I'm Tyler Rowland
00:04 host of the Locked on Titans podcast, staff writer for Sports Illustrated at
00:08 alltitans.com. Want to dive into a week 4 Tic Tac 4-pack looking at the top
00:14 four plays from the Titans win over the Cincinnati Bengals. We are gonna start
00:18 with a run that I am calling the return of the King Derek Henry's 29-yard
00:23 touchdown run on Sunday. This first run through I just want to appreciate Derek
00:28 Henry's greatness here because he makes a couple of Bengals miss up front look
00:33 avoids, avoids, goes through an arm tackle, stiff arms a linebacker and then beats
00:38 everybody to the corner for the touchdown and rightly so Chris Moore
00:41 comes over and crowns the King. But besides Derek Henry's general greatness
00:46 on the play I want to look at the structure and the design of the run. The
00:51 Titans ran nearly half of their runs on Sunday out of shotgun which is a big
00:55 change. You add in runs out of pistol and the Titans ran nearly two-thirds of
01:00 their runs outside of something other than traditional under center. Okay and
01:05 they're trying to find different ways to attack defenses. It's been a struggle
01:08 doing it the same old way. Here they have a double team on the defensive tackle
01:13 and Josh Wiley rather than being on the line of scrimmage here and then one step
01:18 having to deal with Trey Hendrickson now what the Titans do is the Titans have
01:22 Josh Wiley as a wingback so we can get a little bit of momentum uses
01:26 athleticism to square up Trey Hendrickson and get a kick out block. So
01:30 I love the design of this Derek Henry going back in between gonna take a look
01:35 at it right now. Again the Titans trying to find new ways to get the run game
01:40 going. We see the double team with Dillard and Raidens and then we see the
01:44 kick out block from Wiley. Great job by Wiley in this game really getting
01:48 involved for the first time all year. Henry of course is special. A good block
01:53 by NWI. Look at Chris Moore down the field blocking as well so it takes a
01:57 village but the King is back. I want to take a look at a pass play this time.
02:02 This is before the Titans had scored a touchdown so things were still murky. It
02:06 was third and seven and Titans are on their own 25-yard line so the Titans are
02:10 really needing something to spark their offense here. We got tight man coverage
02:15 across the board. Shocker this is how teams love playing the Titans. Tight man
02:19 coverage looking to bring some pressure. You got the deep safety back here and
02:23 here's the Bengals trying to confuse the Titans offensive line get some pressure
02:27 all that. In these situations at the end of the day what it comes down to and Mike
02:32 Rabel said it in his press conference you just have to win one-on-one. Someone
02:36 has to win one-on-one and who's been winning one-on-one their entire career?
02:40 Answer, DeAndre Hopkins and folks let me tell you this Hopkins still has it. Take
02:47 a look at Hopkins as he sells the move. He goes a couple of yards chops his feet
02:51 to sit down on the cornerback and it takes it up the sideline. Absolutely
02:55 excellent route here from DeAndre Hopkins to create separation again.
02:58 One-on-one type boom gone. Create separation. That's two, three, four yards of separation. Great
03:04 catch by the veteran on the sideline. Big play again third and seven but watch up
03:08 front here Ryan Tannehill just delivering the ball. You see a little bit
03:13 of a chip help from Chigga Conquo on Trey Hendrickson to help Andre Diller.
03:18 Smart about time. Then you got these four guys looking to take on these four
03:22 rushers from the Bengals and you'll see Dylan Radens right here. He starts to
03:27 lose inside. This guy comes at him as well and Radens literally goes to his
03:32 butt just to hold on for a couple of extra seconds to give Tannehill time to
03:36 make this throw and you know what? Job done Lord Radens. Job done. Tannehill
03:41 fires a strike down the sideline to Hopkins. Third and seven. No point, no
03:48 touchdowns yet. Huge play. Huge play. Here's another huge play for the Titans.
03:54 Pass play to Chris Moore here. The Titans did a great job of using a hard
03:58 account. Using the snap count to get the Bengals coming forward to try to
04:04 identify what they're doing here. Tannehill does that here. Boom. Gets the
04:08 Bengals to jump off sides and then just takes a shot downfield which you should
04:12 when you get the offsides. Great catch by Chris Moore. Fumbles it but a great
04:16 catch nonetheless. This is an absolute strike by Ryan Tannehill here. An
04:20 absolute strike. Gets the guy off. Look he's looking the other way. He checks to
04:24 the left side. One, two, nothing there. All right. You know what? I got time. I'm firing
04:29 a missile and boom. Good catch by Chris Moore here. I do want to point out Ryan
04:35 Tannehill's average depth of target right now among quarterbacks with 40
04:39 drop backs is second in the NFL 10.4 yards. So Tannehill is absolutely airing
04:44 it out this year whether it's play action or not and that's what the Titans
04:48 need to do to back defenses up to open up things in the run game. So love seeing
04:52 that. Our final play of the Tic Tac 4-pack is the Derrick Henry jump pass
04:56 because hey, you have to do it. What I want to point out here is the sell by
05:02 the offensive line and Josh Wiley talked about this play after the game and he
05:05 even credited the guys up front for the sell and then of course Derrick Henry
05:09 for the pass but it's crazy how this play just cannot be stopped. Teams are so
05:14 worried about the Derrick Henry run that this is always open. They know it's
05:17 coming. I mean look how wide open Josh Wiley is here and Henry sells it good.
05:22 The offensive line sells it good. Henry doesn't give it away too quick. It's not
05:25 even looking at Wiley yet. Boom. One look, jump, throw. Awesome. Awesome stuff here
05:33 and I mean again the sell by the offensive line. They're selling it right
05:37 here. I mean we got Dylan Radens and Andre Dillard on the ground here trying
05:42 to sell this run to Derrick Henry. So great job there by the offensive line.
05:46 Wiley does a good job to sneak out. What a throw by Derrick Henry. What a throw.
05:51 And hey, why not one more time from the last angle baby? Touchdown Titans.
06:00 Excellent stuff by the Titans. Loved what Tim Kelly was putting together. I'm gonna
06:04 have a lot more on the Locked on Titans podcast this week. Gonna have a lot more
06:09 film breakdowns for you at tic-tac-titans on Twitter and of course at
