Armiyaou OUÉDRAOGO is a young soya skewers griller in the town of Kaya in Burkina Faso. This town is reputed for its meat skewers, but soya skewers proposed by a man is not common.

Since his childhood, Armiyaou used to help his mum sell her products at the market. He understood that there's no job meant for men or women specifically.

So, when he discovered the virtues of soya during his training in agriculture, he did not hesitate to start his business, focused on processing soya into different products.

Since he started, this business has grown from a production of 120 kg per month to 300 kg per month. His wish is to move from manual processing to a mechanised process.

00:00 The Agro-Binefit transformation started with the transformation of soya into soya rock.
00:06 We plan to multiply our products in the future with soya milk, soya samba and soya couscous.
00:15 I have been passionate about agriculture since my childhood.
00:22 It was through this that I was trained at the Polyvalent Agricultural Center of Matroku.
00:27 During this training, I got to know soya.
00:30 I started to learn about its derivatives.
00:32 I found that soya can be used to make oil and soya milk.
00:36 It was through this that I realized that Kaya is a city of soya.
00:41 In 2020, I came here to do my internship.
00:44 After the internship, I started to work with soya, soya peels.
00:55 When I started, people asked me why I started this job.
01:02 They said that women are in the field.
01:05 But I said no, there is no fixed field for men and women.
01:10 As soon as you say that you can get out of this field, you have to start.
01:15 That's what I put in my head.
01:17 And I helped my mother transform the rice paddy.

02:15 At the beginning of the transformation, we only made two plates of soya per day.
02:21 These two plates consisted of making the transformation.
02:24 And then for the sale, we sent it to the market with plastic containers to put it in.
02:33 The fact that the oil is around, it makes the product taste good if it lasts a few hours.
02:39 We saw that there were things to improve, so we started to install somewhere.
02:46 It's a position to allow people to acquire soya peels.
02:52 At this level, soya peels are not limited to the present with oil.
02:59 It's what's left with this material.
