00:00 Well, I don't mind if Talbot goes trick-or-treating, just as long as it's not a full moon.
00:04 Here's your spooky spot on the Jada Toys Universal Monsters, The Wolfman.
00:09 [Music]
00:29 [Rattling]
00:41 Do you believe in werewolves? You might if the moon is bright.
00:45 Inspired by the 1941 classic, The Wolfman is an authentically licensed 6-inch action figure.
00:50 This character features a highly detailed sculpt and premium painted details.
00:54 The Wolfman's fully articulated form comes in an alternate head and multiple accessories.
00:59 The Wolfman joins the pack of Jada Toys Universal Monsters Action Figures Collection.
01:04 But now that we've freed the werewolf from his pack, literally and figuratively,
01:09 let's grab the tape measure and see how tall the figure stands.
01:11 And while I'm doing this as well, I'd like to thank the folks over at Jada Toys
01:14 that did kindly provide this sample of the brand new Universal Monsters Wolfman,
01:18 and we can have a look at this review.
01:19 I'll also be bringing in the earlier looked at Universal Monsters from Jada Toys.
01:23 Wait, what? You reviewed the other Jada Toys Universal Monsters?
01:26 Heck yeah, I did. I'll be bringing those in also in a second for comparisons.
01:30 But first though, Wolfman stands 6 inches in height, where the figure's going to be 15 centimeters tall.
01:35 Hey Giselle, what's wrong with Wolfie? I can hear him barking.
01:39 And while Wolfie isn't part of his pack anymore, at least of the werewolf kind,
01:43 he is though part of the Universal Monster pack, bringing the other ones that we've already had a look at.
01:48 Here's what he looks like with Dracula.
01:49 Here's what he looks like with the creature from the Black Lagoon.
01:51 And then off to the other side, we also had a look at the glow-in-the-dark version of the creature from the Black Lagoon,
01:55 which is essentially still the same Gill Man, just different colors.
01:58 We also had a look at the Frankenstein's monster,
02:01 and we also had a look in no particular order at the Bride of Frankenstein.
02:05 Boy, the Wolfman looks really good with the rest of these figures.
02:08 Hey, hey, you know what else looks really good with this?
02:12 All the accessories that come included with the Wolfman.
02:14 Starting first, the figure comes included with a Talbot cane.
02:17 I'm guessing that the cane's been molded here in black plastic,
02:21 not likely been cast in the silver that I'm looking at.
02:23 The silver though has been adorned in the top head section here,
02:26 which you can see there for the smallest of details,
02:29 the fact that they actually sculpt the wolf head as well as they did.
02:32 Nice job from Gina Toys.
02:33 And of course, some additional silver there on the bottom of it as well.
02:36 Now he doesn't have right now, he only has clawing hands,
02:39 other than just ripping away someone's face.
02:41 He won't be holding the cane just yet,
02:43 but the figure luckily does come included with a couple of also holding hands.
02:46 They have been very meticulously painted as well.
02:49 You can see that the nails, for example, each one,
02:51 each of the hairy digits have been carefully painted with the yellow only on the end of the nail.
02:56 The paint's actually pretty good for all these hands.
02:58 And this hand at least will allow you to hold the Talbot cane,
03:01 whether you want to have it, say, for example, more in the holding of the handle,
03:05 or I guess holding in the main shaft of the cane,
03:08 would it be the shaft of the cane?
03:09 Or if you wanted to, you can also take as well the cane and you can have it.
03:13 So he's holding it more sort of like the head from the head of the cane like this.
03:16 Entirely up to you.
03:18 The figure as well comes included with a bear trap.
03:20 Now while I like the look of the bear trap and appreciate the fact
03:24 they actually took the time to include a real chain on the end of it.
03:27 You will want to be careful though, because the bear trap is pretty fragile.
03:30 More so when you are actually closing it.
03:32 Because when you're opening it right there,
03:34 and you just leave it the way it is right now, it's fine.
03:36 It's not gonna be doing any damage other than the person that's gonna be unfortunately stepping on it.
03:39 It's not until you in fact close the teeth
03:42 that you'll notice that it basically is attaching only by these tiny,
03:46 I'm gonna get my blasted finger out of the way,
03:48 these tiny little clips are on either side of this.
03:51 And the moment you start to close the trap,
03:53 which I'm glad to see it actually does close,
03:55 this is always really prone, right now of course it has to stay in because I'm recording it,
03:59 but these are always really prone to popping off.
04:01 You can kind of see how very small that peg is.
04:03 Just be a little bit careful if you are planning to close the trap.
04:07 And I'm glad again to see that it does actually have a closing trap.
04:10 Nice additional wear and tear, they've added a little bit of rusting also there as well.
04:14 The metal is a little on the more shinier, bright grey.
04:17 I wish it was a little bit darker than what we get right here.
04:19 But the fact that we do have a functioning trap with a real chain, yes, yes please.
04:23 Move that also to the side.
04:25 And then lastly, the figure also comes included with what I feel to be the better of the two head sculpts.
04:29 I know it's really hard to say that because you haven't really had the chance to have a look at the defaulted head.
04:34 But this is what the defaulted head looks like when you first take him from his box.
04:38 The mouth and the head sculpt actually as a whole looks pretty good.
04:41 It's not though until you see this one with more of the surprised look on his eyes.
04:45 Boy, that's a much better looking head sculpt if you ask me.
04:48 It also gives much more of an opportunity to see not only the bottom of the teeth but also the top fangs as well.
04:53 Whereas this one actually just only has the bottom row of teeth.
04:56 Still has fangs, but it doesn't have the multitude of fangs that this head sculpt has.
05:00 In both cases, the head sculpts are quite good.
05:03 And I really like the way they've painted the heads.
05:05 It looks to me like they probably would have cast it in black plastic and then likely painted the brown over top of it.
05:10 But again, the attention to detail is really good on Jada's part.
05:14 To remove the heads, it's just a case of popping the one that's already there right now.
05:18 Just removing from the ball joint.
05:19 And then you're just going to take the new head and pop it in place.
05:22 And I always find it helps to kind of take the palm of your hand and help to assist to push that onto the peg.
05:28 Because sometimes they don't always stay in place.
05:30 Once again, just in case you forgot already.
05:33 In case you had forgotten, you want to bring back the original head sculpt so you can see the difference between the two.
05:37 Personally, though, I like this one a lot more.
05:39 But personal preference, of course, will be varying from one collector to the other.
05:43 Anyways, we're going to move that one to the side.
05:45 And once again, closely looking at the head.
05:48 The snout's nicely been painted in brown.
05:50 And while we have now top and bottom teeth, they have also gone and painted the lips in nice pink.
05:55 It's a really nice looking head.
05:56 So one thing I really also like about the Jada Toy release Universal Monsters is while maybe they don't have screen accuracy,
06:02 they have sort of a charm to them that they kind of look more like retro figures.
06:05 And in no way is that a detriment or a negative point about the figure line.
06:09 I just really like the way that they look sort of more of as a retro toy line.
06:13 Of course, he does have his green shirt.
06:15 The green is actually a lot brighter and more vibrant than I was expecting.
06:18 They've added a little bit of darker coloring there also as well.
06:21 Looks like either maybe airbrushing.
06:23 They probably airbrushed a little bit of a darker green also on the back.
06:25 He's got it down the sides of his arms as well.
06:27 And of course on the front of his chest too.
06:29 He though takes the time despite the fact he's turning into a wolf and terrorizing the villagers,
06:34 he actually still takes the time to button up his shirt.
06:36 You would think like the Hulk he would just be ripping it right open.
06:39 But the Wolfman still keeps everything pretty tied up, even taking the time to tuck his shirt in.
06:44 Speaking of tucking his shirt in, you can see that they painted nicely the belt and the blue pants down below as well.
06:49 Now speaking of film accuracies, if you were to say look for it, well first of all,
06:53 it's a little strange the fact that they painted the bottom of this.
06:55 It just basically says it's UKCACE.
06:57 And of course you've got yourself a little copyright information there on the bottom of it.
07:00 That's not the point I did want to bring to your attention was if you look at the Wolfman,
07:03 unlike though in the movie where he would have actually had more of a lifted shoes that would have basically walked on their toes.
07:09 This Wolfman actually has flat feet.
07:11 Now we have seen Wolfman figures from other companies as well that went more the route of kind of sitting on the Wolfman's toes.
07:19 And while being more of course movie accurate, it always made a more problem when it came to the figure to stand.
07:24 I prefer more flat feet, not screen accurate, no, but the flat feet at least ensures that Wolfman isn't going to take a tumble.
07:30 For the figure's articulation, going back to his head sculpt once again, the head is rotating all the way around.
07:34 On that ball joint, it does allow the head to look up.
07:37 So if again he wants to howl, "HOWL!"
07:40 Or if you want to have the head looking down as well, he can accomplish both.
07:43 In addition to that though, it seems to be the case that the figure has two ball joints.
07:47 One is at the top of the neck, we've already had a look at.
07:50 One is though at the bottom of the neck, hey now, where you can have additional rotation happening there as well.
07:55 So there's quite a lot of stuff going on here when it comes to the articulation on the figure.
07:59 Upper torso is also on a ball joint, so you can rotate it all the way around really if you wanted to.
08:03 You can have it looking up and looking down and of course all the stuff in between.
08:06 Shoulders do rotate all the way around, so these guys are really poseable.
08:10 Bring those arms out at 90 degrees for a nice big wolf hug.
08:13 And of course you can swivel at the biceps, double hinge on the elbows.
08:17 And the hands themselves do rotate all the way around and hinge back and forth.
08:21 Again, there's always the option as well if you guys wanted to swap out the hands for the more of the gripping hands.
08:25 But for me at least, I'm not going to be displaying the figure with the tail that cane.
08:28 Rather, I'll just be having this guy sort of more in a wolfman pose.
08:32 As for the lower legs though, the legs are on ball joints, so you can split them as far as that.
08:36 You can take the legs as well, move them forward, move them back.
08:39 Three quarters of the way up the thighs, so that's about half right there, right?
08:42 A little further than that.
08:43 Look a little further, it's actually a swivel cut, so you can rotate the leg all the way around.
08:46 The figure has a double hinge on the knee.
08:49 And when it comes to the articulation on his feet, he has it not only here,
08:53 where normally that would just be sculpted, I would imagine, the bottom of the pants.
08:56 But it manages though to rotate all the way around on the leg.
08:59 And you can also move it up and down and rock it back and forth.
09:02 Now we have a while ago looked in fact at the Jada Toys Universal Monster.
09:07 I'm just getting wolfman to stand here, so again we'll just bring back in the other characters from Jada Toys.
09:12 I have not at the time of doing this video, or at the time I should say of recording this video,
09:17 I have yet to pick up the Bela Lugosi Dracula, so that's why this is not the Bela Lugosi likeness.
09:21 But we will be looking at that one also during the month of Spot-tober.
09:24 And once again just bringing in the original characters.
09:27 I won't bring back in the glow in the dark Gill-man, just because again,
09:30 if you want the more traditional look to the character, let's bring in the rest of the Universal Monsters.
09:34 Now Jada Toys was also nice enough to include during the month of Spot-tober.
09:38 We will be looking at the Invisible Man.
09:40 Yes, definitely looking forward to that one.
09:42 You know of all the ones that we've looked at so far, honestly, I think Wolfman might be my favorite.
09:47 I mean the Dracula was good, and no slouching on virginal Frankenstein's monster.
09:51 But there's something charming I would say about the Wolfman, especially with the new head sculpt that I swapped out.
09:55 The colors are vibrant, the color is well painted, and all in all, from head to toe, as furry as those toes may be,
10:01 Wolfman delivered to be a really good looking figure when it's all said and done.
10:06 While I may not be able to know the existence of Nards, what I do know though is that Jada Toys did a fantastic job on the original Wolfman.
10:13 They had changed some of the elements to the original character's design, more importantly giving him flat feet.
10:19 But the flat feet not only benefit the figure from just standing normal,
10:22 but also as well if you wanted to give him a more interesting pose than just having him standing straight,
10:26 like I've got here in Final Looks.
10:28 The colors, the details, and all the paint have been applied quite well,
10:31 and I like the fact that the figure came with not one, but two alternate head sculpts,
10:36 preferring though the second one instead of the original defaulted one.
10:39 The figure comes as well included with the Talbot cane, comes as well with the bear trap.
10:43 I likely will be displaying the figure with the bear trap,
10:46 likely though will be putting the Talbot cane back in the baggie with all the other accessories
10:50 that I've been collecting with the Jada Toys Universal Monsters.
10:53 I did though say that this one was my favorite from what we've looked at so far.
10:57 Whether that will though change when we eventually look at the Invisible Man,
11:01 because of course the Invisible Man we will be looking at him in an upcoming review.
11:04 But I think again, well worth the wait to finally get this guy to add him with the rest of the Universal Monsters
11:09 that Jada Toys has been doing so well so far.
11:11 Now again, they're not the most movie accurate.
11:14 I think the Wolfman probably looks the best of the batch of what we've seen so far.
11:17 But what maybe it lacks I think in more silver screen accuracy,
11:21 I think it makes up for more in being kind of looking like a more charming retro toy line,
11:26 something I would have loved to have collected back in the 80s as I was a kid.
11:30 But what do you guys think of the Wolfman? Let me know down below in the comments section.
11:33 Have you had the chance to grab this one?
11:35 And of what we've looked at so far, keeping in mind again we still have to look at the Invisible Man,
11:40 but of the ones that we've looked at, what would you say is your favorite? Let me know.
11:44 Also big thank you once again to the folks over at Jada Toys that did take the time to provide this sample
11:48 of Universal Monsters Wolfman that we could have a look at in this review.
11:51 If you guys enjoyed this video, I want to hit it with a like.
11:53 If you guys are loving the content you guys are seeing and you certainly want to stick around for the Invisible Man's review,
11:58 again his review will be coming right around the corner.
12:01 Not maybe right around the corner where that pair of red eyes are staring at me right now.
12:06 Charlie the Ghost, is that you? Charlie the Ghost, is that you?
12:10 Charlie the Ghost, is that you? I don't think it's Charlie the Ghost.
12:15 But what I can tell you though is that we are going to be looking at still the Invisible Man,
12:18 so his review will be coming up.
12:20 And of course there's going to still be a ton of spooky related videos coming your way during the month of Spot-tober.
12:25 As always guys, thanks for watching. See you guys next time.
12:29 (Spooky Growling)
