00:09 Europe's largest shoe retailer, Dykeman, is set to open its doors to its new store on
00:13 Tuesday November 7th.
00:15 The retail giant's 350m2 store is located at Dykeman 11 Swan Walk, Horsham RH121HQ and
00:23 has undergone a complete £400,000 investment.
00:27 The store will create 10 permanent jobs in the local area including manager positions,
00:31 shop floor and cashier roles.
00:34 A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a serious collision on
00:38 the A27 at Tangmere, Sussex Police have confirmed.
00:43 Police said that the collision involving a white VW Polo and a pedestrian occurred on
00:47 the westbound carriageway close to the slip road to the A285 at about 1.20am on Sunday
00:55 morning November 5th.
00:57 A section of the road was closed for several hours while emergency service worked at the
01:01 scene and Sussex Police have thanked the public for their patience and understanding.
01:07 Sussex Police made free arrest during the multi-agency operation for the Lewis Bonfire
01:12 celebrations.
01:13 Sussex Police said a 31-year-old man from Brighton was arrested on suspicion of road
01:17 traffic offences after officers responded to a motorcycle rider in Lewis High Street
01:22 at about 7pm.
01:24 A 20-year-old man from Lewis was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public
01:28 order offence at about 9.30pm, police confirmed.
01:32 And Sussex Police said a 35-year-old man from London was also arrested on suspicion of a
01:36 racially aggravated public order offence at about 10.40pm.
01:40 All three men remain in police custody at this stage, police added.
01:45 Over 20 members of the public will be outside Hove Crown Court today to remind jurors that
01:50 they have the right to acquit defendants based on their own convictions and conscience.
01:55 As part of the Grown Public Campaign, Defend Our Juries, the group will hold up placards
01:59 as reminders of the centuries-old system of an independent jury not bound by the directions
02:04 of the judge.
02:06 The placards draw the words on a plaque in the Old Bailey which marks a 1670 ruling by
02:11 the then Chief Justice Sir John Vaughan that enshrines the independence of juries.
