00:00 Welcome to another tic-tac Titans film breakdown
00:02 I'm Tyler Roland host of the locked on Titans podcast staff writer for sports illustrated over at all Titans comm I want to dive into
00:09 the performance of Dylan Raiden's
00:11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers
00:13 Raiden's is in his third year after being drafted in the second round by the Titans and it is time for him to be a
00:20 Starter, I just want to go over some of what Dylan Raiden's did in this game in pass protection
00:26 He did get a lot of help during this game from running backs from tight ends
00:31 But he also had a lot of opportunities where he just went one-on-one
00:34 Against TJ wah Alex Highsmith and he did a pretty good job
00:38 So there's not gonna be a ton of telestration here on this one
00:42 But I do just want to point out Dylan Raiden's right here is playing right tackle now
00:47 I think Dylan Raiden's is a left side player personally
00:49 I think you would be better suited at left tackle
00:51 But either way with the struggles the Titans have had at the tackle position getting some good production out of an offensive tackle
00:58 You got to be happy about that for the Titans and that's exactly what they got from Dylan Raiden's in game one
01:03 So that's one-on-one with what gets his hands on him
01:06 Keeps him away. I mean everybody else is allowing will levis to get absolutely smacked and Dylan Raiden's is doing his job
01:13 Block wasn't absolutely perfect wasn't absolutely beautiful
01:17 But again getting the job done with this Tennessee Titans offensive line is key. We have rains here
01:23 He gets a little chip from the tight end, but quite honestly
01:25 Chica conclosed chip pushing
01:28 What inside actually hurts?
01:30 Dylan Raiden's because he wants to play inside out and not let what to the inside and the chip actually
01:36 Gives what momentum to get inside watch was to spin back out and Raiden stays with him mirrors him holds him
01:43 Allows levis to get rid of it again
01:46 Not pretty not beautiful, but getting the job done and the Titans need that desperately right now now
01:53 We have Raiden's one-on-one against Alex Highsmith who may not be as big of a name as TJ
01:58 What but ask anybody in the NFL and Alex Highsmith is one of the best doing it Raiden's holds him all perfectly
02:04 Stymies him and allows levis to make a throw. I mean, I mean this is over and over again all day long TJ
02:11 What one-on-one look this is what the Tennessee Titans want to do in pass protection?
02:16 What they want to do is they want to have the offensive tackles
02:18 Flow the edge rushers past and they want to have a firm interior so that levis can step up into the pocket
02:26 That's how Mike Rabel talks about it in press conferences. That's how the Titans teach it and this is teach tape from Dylan Raiden's
02:32 Just wash TJ what pass the quarterback let him use his own momentum and get past here
02:39 Look at Dylan Raiden's what falls? Okay, what falls which is Raiden's assignment?
02:44 Brunskill gets beat to the inside
02:47 okay, Brunskill gets beat here and
02:50 Raiden's
02:52 slides over
02:54 To help him out. I mean look at this. This this is this is excellent. Let's rewind a little bit look off the snap
03:01 Raiden's has what?
03:03 he falls
03:06 Brunskill's guy darts to the outside and Raiden's just does an excellent job of being aware
03:11 Picking him up. And again that gives I wish levis would have would have gone out this way on this one
03:19 But he goes the other way, but either way, this isn't a great play doesn't turn to anything
03:23 But what awareness by Dylan Raiden's the Titans need this on their offensive line? Okay, they need this another situation here
03:31 One on one pass blocking for Dylan Raiden's he's just taken number 99
03:35 Mono, we mono here on the play-action fake and this is the drag route to trailing Burks in the second half
03:42 Look at Raiden's winning one on one Derek Henry gives a little handier, but I mean
03:46 Raiden's doesn't necessarily need to help. He's got him
03:50 Allows levis a lot of time actually to hit Burks all the way across the field
03:55 I mean, this is great stuff from Dylan Raiden's
03:59 I don't know how you don't who else is
04:02 having a seizure here from the camera bouncing on this one, but I
04:06 Don't know how you can say that Dylan Raiden's isn't one of the best five offensive linemen on this team
04:11 This is one on one with TJ Watt. This is maybe the best defensive player in the entire league one-on-one
04:17 How many of these do we have to watch?
04:19 Look what makes an inside move Raiden's uses his strength and continues to hold him off so that levis can fire a strike down the field
04:27 okay, incomplete didn't work, but an
04:29 Individual rep basis for levis or for Raiden's look
04:34 out here on what?
04:36 wash him past
04:39 Strike the Kyle Phillips two-minute drill end of the game. Like these are big plays. These are big moments and
04:45 Raiden's is winning. He helps Brunskill there
04:48 They're running a tee stunt here where they're trying to bring the defensive tackle Raiden's picks it up
04:54 Then he tries to slide in between Raiden's and Brunskill and Raiden's moves into the inside
04:58 I mean that is how you pick up a twist
05:01 This is good offensive line play
05:05 It's not perfect. It's not incredible. I'm not telling you Dylan Raiden's is gonna be an all-pro little help from Taj a Spears here
05:13 but again
05:14 How much does Taj a Spears really help Patty cakes him? This is Raiden's
05:19 Washing the best pass rusher maybe one of the top three for sure in the NFL
05:23 Pass the quarterback so Levis can deliver a strike on a drive where they're trying to go down and get a game-winning touchdown
05:30 I mean
05:30 These are big moments big blocks in big matchups and we've seen Dylan Raiden's do this before in San Francisco
05:38 And 20 not in San Francisco
05:39 But against San Francisco in 2021 against Nick Bosa
05:42 Bosa had to switch to the other side of Dylan Raiden's when Raiden's was playing left tackle
05:46 I don't know what Raiden's has done. Look at this
05:49 Look at this pocket
05:52 Who's doing their job? It's Raiden's one-on-one
05:55 You got three guys over here trying to take these two got two guys here taking this one and one on one Dylan
06:03 Raiden's against the best football player in the game in this game TJ. What was the best football player? I
06:09 mean
06:12 This guy has to start he should start at left tackle in my opinion over Andre Dillard over Jalen Duncan
06:19 Hopefully Chris Hubbard is back at right tackle and you have Raiden's
06:23 Skowronski Brewer Brunskill and Hubbard. That's what the Titans need one-on-one TJ. What Dylan Raiden's washing by?
06:31 Last two plays the game
06:34 They don't go well, but with the offensive line play
06:38 We have seen especially from from the offensive tackles this year another one TJ what one-on-one Dylan Raiden's you got it?
06:44 No chip help no running back. No tight end
06:47 They're literally sending Taj a Spears to help Andre Dillard against Alex Highsmith and letting Dylan Raiden's go one-on-one against TJ
06:55 What?
06:56 This man has to be a starter
06:58 This man has to be in the lineup the rest of the season at left tackle if Hubbard is out
07:03 Then you go Raiden's at right tackle you go Dillard at left tackle
07:08 But as soon as Hubbard is back because he's been the best offensive tackle on the team this year as soon as Hubbard is back
07:13 Hubbard at right tackle Raiden's at left tackle rest of the season
07:17 Even if you help Dylan Raiden's quite a bit with the tight end in the back like he got in this game
07:22 One on one pass blocking he is still better than Andre Dillard and Nicolas Petit Ferrer
07:28 Give Dylan Raiden's a shot
07:32 He's waited long enough and now he deserves it. That's it for more analysis
