00:06 >> Any questions?
00:08 >> It's crazy, crazy game.
00:11 >> Yeah, it's crazy game, a lot of points, right?
00:13 >> Yeah.
00:16 >> It was a great game.
00:18 Wish you could tell on the other side though.
00:22 >> Hey, Dre, I asked Quinn about your defensive efforts and he said it was a good
00:27 point to make it a point to highlight your defensive efforts all season.
00:31 Just wondering what you can talk about,
00:32 just even in this game how you were playing with defense.
00:36 >> I mean, yeah, it's just been a big focus point for me.
00:40 And defense isn't necessarily about talent, it's more about effort and
00:44 thinking and being smart and being in the right spot.
00:49 And so for me, it's just, it's been good to kind of have a little bit more guidance
00:53 on where to be and as a team, as a unit, we gotta be five guys on defense.
00:57 If one guy's out of spot, out of place, I mean, they can score.
01:00 And yeah, I've been a lot better focusing on that this year.
01:04 And it's definitely shown for sure.
01:07 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:12 >> I know you've talked a lot about defense leading into your offense.
01:14 How do you feel that kind of helped your offensive game efficient for
01:18 you from the floor?
01:21 >> I think really just the, I mean, the work I've been putting in,
01:24 just continuing to do what I've been doing is the reason why I shot the way I did.
01:27 And I think obviously getting out in transition makes it a lot easier to score.
01:32 But yeah, I've just been putting in a lot of work and really the same thing,
01:37 it's just sticking to my routine and understanding that it's gonna fall
01:39 eventually.
01:40 But it's just hard for me to look at and be happy when we lost, so
01:45 we gotta do a little bit more.
01:48 >> I'm not trying to get you fired or anything, but
01:49 did you get an explanation for what a shooting foul is?
01:52 >> [LAUGH] I don't know, I don't know.
01:55 I mean, I shouldn't get fined for saying that we need to figure out what, I mean,
02:01 a real shooting foul is, not just picking out just cuz it's me and understanding.
02:06 I'm getting shooting fouls, I mean, I'm still shooting a lot of free throws.
02:09 And because guys are aggressive with me, I don't shoot free throws just cuz I shoot
02:14 free throws, I shoot free throws, cuz guys are aggressive with me and
02:16 I use their contact to my advantage and their physicality to my advantage.
02:21 And there's a lot of times that I'm still,
02:23 I probably could have shot eight more free throws on shooting fouls.
02:28 And they caught them on the floor and
02:29 then they gave them to the same type of fouls as them.
02:32 So, I mean, that's not the reason why we lost.
02:36 Could it be a reason?
02:37 Definitely.
02:38 But we gotta move on, we gotta get in tomorrow, we gotta focus on tomorrow.
02:43 >> Trey, so maybe tie this up there in pregame.
02:46 As you have nights like this and you continue to see him grow,
02:49 what do you want him to take away from watching his dad out there?
02:52 >> I just want him, right now, he probably won't remember too much right now, but
02:56 I want him to, I mean, there's a lot of videos, a lot of film that's gonna be out.
03:00 And hopefully one day he can look back at these videos that, I mean,
03:03 he's on the court running around.
03:05 And he has some memories of me playing good when he's in the arena.
03:10 That's really all it is for me.
03:12 I just wanna be a great role model for my son and for all these other kids out here.
03:17 But specifically him, I just want him to have a lot of memories when he
03:21 looks back at it.
03:22 >> He's coming up to the age that you were at YMCA being a football director?
03:26 >> Yeah, yeah, I got a couple more years for sure.
03:28 >> All right, thank you, Trey.
