00:00 Both teams were hard to guard, the scoreboard reflected that.
00:05 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:08 Series and runs, I'm not sure you're gonna have.
00:12 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:15 Tough game, tough game, all losses are tough, but I felt like we competed.
00:22 And then when we went through a really tough stretch,
00:26 they were making shots, a few possessions, maybe you can do a little more.
00:32 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:35 But they put a lot of pressure on you from the three point line and
00:38 then put you in closeout situations and get into the basket.
00:42 >> I was gonna say coming out of the half, it was just a little bit of
00:47 a flat start that helped Indiana get sort of into a rhythm, or
00:51 was it just that they were playing maybe a little bit more physically?
00:54 >> No, I think, to be honest with you, we didn't get stops.
01:01 And obviously the result of that being, they're scoring, of course, but
01:06 also you don't get a chance to get out.
01:09 And we were good in transition.
01:12 And there were some deep threes,
01:16 there were some blow by drives when we were trying to contest threes.
01:21 But I think that obviously there's other stretches during the game and
01:26 there's stretches that we had.
01:27 It is a game of rums, you saw that tonight.
01:31 >> Coach, from what I could see from the eye,
01:34 the team's focus was there from the start to the finish.
01:36 Can you just talk about how, I don't wanna capitalize on the losses, but
01:40 how those two losses kinda taught you guys how to come closer to closing this one
01:43 out?
01:44 >> Well, I've said it before and it's kind of,
01:48 it rings hollow when you lose a game.
01:53 It's discompetitive, you feel like you're right there.
01:58 But I do feel we're trying to improve all the time.
02:03 And to the extent that even the starts of the games,
02:07 it's something we've talked about.
02:08 Not anything you can hang your hat on, but we will look at the execution and
02:18 some of the things that hurt us.
02:20 Again, try to keep working on them as we're also playing games.
02:24 We gotta bounce back tomorrow night.
02:27 >> I also wanted to ask about your trust in Bogey.
02:30 He had those 3,000 in first quarter, but you left him in there, you trusted him.
02:34 Can you just talk about how he played tonight and your trust in him?
02:37 >> Yeah, it's actually something I've talked to DeAndre about
02:40 when he picked up a couple early.
02:44 I think if I'd rather play him and if he picks up his third foul,
02:49 it comes to an end.
02:49 Because it's not something you do all the time, you kind of feel the game, but
02:56 he is a rhythm player.
02:57 And he looked like he was in a groove anyway.
03:02 So leaving him in there just, to me, made sense tonight.
03:05 >> With Halliburton, you guys held him to 11 points in the first half, and
03:09 then he kind of exploded in the second half.
03:11 What was the adjustment that he made that, I guess, made that possible for him?
03:17 >> He moved back, for one thing, and was shooting his step back.
03:24 And at his height, it's a tough shot to contest if he gets it off.
03:29 And he was making them from that high quadrant.
03:33 And we started trying to hit him in the backcourt.
03:39 There weren't as many opportunities to blitz him and
03:41 pick and roll because they were just spacing.
03:43 But he's obviously a really good player.
03:46 We had some of the same offense on our side, too.
03:52 Some of those games where you felt like the last team that had the ball,
03:56 one of those games.
03:57 But like I said, he's a real good player.
03:59 And it's tough when he's as good a passer as he is.
04:03 Because if you do try to double team him and get it out of his hands, and
04:06 we tried to do that, we denied it back to him.
04:08 Just a lot of work, and it's usually five guys when you get in that situation.
04:14 For a team that shoots it that well,
04:15 you put yourself in some tough spots when you double him as well.
04:19 It made sense after he got going.
04:21 >> Quinn, I know it's not the outcome you wanted, but
04:24 I wanted to ask you about Trey's defense tonight.
04:26 I mean, he got that stop late, he threw a charge.
04:29 Just what did you think of his defensive effort?
04:31 >> I've been, I'm glad you asked me that.
04:33 I've been saying it the whole year.
04:36 And to whatever extent there's a narrative that develops about someone.
04:41 He's been good off the ball, he's been good on the ball, he's competed.
04:46 I can show you a long edit of the times he's picked up full court.
04:52 And someone should talk about it.
04:53 It's not, when you talk about Trey tonight,
04:56 you talk about what a great offensive game he had, and he did.
04:59 But it's one of the things that I've told him early in the year when some of
05:04 his shots weren't going, he didn't stop defending.
05:07 That's good to see from all our guys.
05:10 That's the mentality we have to have.
05:12 And there are some things tonight that obviously defensively we can do better,
05:17 and we played against a team that can score.
05:19 >> All right, thanks coach.
05:21 >> Okay.
