00:00 Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. As we go through
00:03 the rest of this weekend, a little bit of a north-south split across the country, still
00:07 fairly unsettled across the north, but for most of us in the south it should be fairly
00:12 dry. But for all of us it's going to turn increasingly mild, all thanks to the southerly
00:15 winds which will develop as we go through the next couple of days, most of us by Sunday
00:20 into the milder air. But it won't last for too long, we will see the cooler air begin
00:25 to move back in as we go into the early part of next week.
00:28 But back to the here and now for the rest of Saturday afternoon, a fair bit of cloud
00:33 around. Most of this cloud is going to be medium to high level so there will still be
00:37 some bright spells around. Best of the sunshine probably up across the very far north-east
00:42 of Scotland and across southern and eastern parts of England too. The cloud will also
00:47 be thick enough in places to produce some spots of rain, especially across parts of
00:51 Northern Ireland with a more organised band of rain just stretching across the very far
00:56 north of Scotland into Orkney and Shetland. But for most of us temperatures should begin
01:02 to climb up towards the high single figures, potentially up to 10 to 11 degrees across
01:07 the south-west and maybe also across the far north of Scotland too.
01:12 So into this evening, for a lot of England and Wales actually it should stay fairly dry.
01:17 Best of the clearest skies will be over towards the eastern parts of England where for Scotland
01:22 and Northern Ireland here the skies will be rather cloudy. Again, it will be thick enough
01:27 in places to produce some spots of rain, especially across the higher ground of Scotland throughout
01:31 the night. But under the cloud and rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland it's going to
01:35 be a mild night. Some places may well just stay into double figures. But over towards
01:39 the eastern parts of England we will see a touch of frost as we start Sunday morning.
01:44 But here we will see some sunshine first thing in the morning. Elsewhere a good deal of cloud
01:49 around and again that cloud will be thick enough in places to produce the odd spot of
01:53 rain. But the cloud will break up across the country giving some sunny spells almost anywhere.
01:58 But then later on in the day we will see this next band of rain moving across parts of Northern
02:02 Ireland and Scotland. Some heavy rain on it and also some strong winds. The winds turning
02:08 increasingly strong across parts of western Scotland and eventually into Orkney and Shetland.
02:14 We could see some gusts easily reaching 50 to 60 miles an hour. So if you do have any
02:18 travel plans across northern and western parts of Scotland during Sunday, please do keep
02:22 an eye on the forecast as we go through the rest of this weekend. Temperatures tomorrow
02:28 with that milder air across the whole of the country, most towns and cities firmly into
02:33 double figures. Across parts of North Wales, maybe the far north of Northern Ireland too,
02:37 we could even see temperatures reach around 15 to 17 degrees. So a very mild end to the
02:43 weekend for most of us. If you want more information about the weather where you are over the next
02:48 couple of days, you can always check out our app and don't forget to follow us on our social
02:52 media channels. But that's all from me for now. Take care and I'll see you again later.
