00:31 For now, there is a discount of P65 per week for senior citizens and persons with disabilities
00:38 for basic necessities and prime commodities like locally produced fish, meat,
00:43 and some grocery items like sugar, cooking oil, toiletries, and flour.
00:48 5% of the 1,300 pesos is the maximum expense that can be applied by the discount.
00:53 Starting next week, through the new Joint Administrative Order
00:57 signed by the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Energy,
01:02 the discount that senior citizens and persons with disabilities can get will increase.
01:07 The special discount is still 5%.
01:09 But the discount can be given up to 2,500 pesos.
01:13 That is equivalent to the 125 pesos discount per week.
01:17 The senior citizen discount of 20% is not applicable to all products.
01:22 So that's why we came up with a 5% that's applicable to those
01:27 which are not subject to the 20% senior citizen discount.
01:33 Aside from the grocery items that can be considered basic necessities and prime commodities,
01:38 vegetables, fruits, and rice can also be given a discount,
01:41 except for specialty rice.
01:43 There is also a 5% discount every five months in LPG.
01:47 To avoid the excessive benefit, it should not be less than four different types of items to be purchased.
01:54 For example, two cans of sardines, one pack of coffee, milk, and soap.
