00:00 In a joint statement, the Philippines, Japan and America called on China to follow the arbitral tribunal ruling of the West Philippine Sea.

00:33 In a bold joint vision statement issued by the leaders of the Philippines, America and Japan,
00:40 they declared their obedience and responsibility to their mothers who are more vulnerable to China's moves in the West Philippine Sea.
00:51 At the trilateral leaders' summit held by President Bongbong Marcos, U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Homiyo,
00:58 the three leaders declared their obedience to the use of Coast Guard and militia vessels in the South China Sea.
01:07 They also said that it is incumbent upon China to repeatedly block Philippine sea vehicles and their supply to the South China Sea.
01:16 They called on China to follow the ruling of the arbitral tribunal that the Philippines is in an exclusive economic zone.
01:23 And the joint exercise of the Coast Guard of the Philippines and America was followed last year.
01:29 America is looking forward to riding the members of the Philippine and Japan Coast Guards on their ships while patrolling the Indo-Pacific this year.
01:38 They also plan to conduct maritime training activities around Japan in 2025.
01:44 Biden reiterated America's commitment under the Mutual Defense Treaty.
01:48 As I've said before, any attack on Philippine aircraft, vessels or armed forces in the South China Sea would invoke our Mutual Defense Treaty.
02:00 He also mentioned the opening of the economic corridor in the Philippines with the help of G7, the seven richest countries in the world.
02:07 It means more jobs for people across the entire region. It means more investment in sectors critical to our future.
02:16 Clean energy, ports, railroads, agriculture and much more.
02:22 While President Marcos thanked the Philippines for the $1 billion private sector investment of America
02:28 and the official development assistance of Japan and its private sector that amounted to 600 billion yen.
02:33 We seek to identify ways of growing our economies and making them more resilient, climate-proofing our cities and our societies,
02:42 sustaining our development progress and forging a peaceful world for the next generation.
02:49 Today's summit is an opportunity to define the future that we want and how we intend to achieve it together.
02:58 The Japanese leader will be visiting both countries to secure peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.
03:07 I hope to reaffirm our intention to further strengthen trilateral cooperation and to present the specific way forward through today's meeting.
03:18 This trilateral leaders' summit is truly historic and important.
03:22 Not only because of the first opportunity that the three Indo-Pacific maritime democracies have joined forces,
03:29 but because it will determine the future and direction of our region.
03:34 A free, open, peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific region that will continue to advance in freedom of navigation and in compliance with the rule of law.
03:44 Before the summit, President Biden was in the office of President Marcos
03:48 where he gave Biden the priority of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

04:02 the Filipino-Americans and their allies protested outside about the militarization and economic control of the United States in the Philippines.
04:15 This morning, President Marcos will help U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin III
