00:00 Hello there, Connor Gormley here, a trainee reporter for Sussex World, and this is our
00:03 Daily News Bulletin where I talk you through all of our biggest news stories from across
00:08 both East and West Sussex today. A new conservation area has been designated in the South Downs.
00:14 It's dubbed the West Chiltington Lanes Conservation Area, and it's believed the designation will
00:18 tighten controls over demolition and alteration of buildings in order to preserve and enhance
00:23 the special historic and architectural interest in the area. A controversial jetty proposal
00:28 at a West Sussex beauty spot has been approved, to just the Harbour Conservancy, submitted
00:32 proposals in February to provide increased walk ashore berthing capacity at the site,
00:38 which is in Itchernor, by extending the pontoon footprint. It's a change which they say will
00:44 increase convenience and safety and enable them to build the infrastructure required
00:48 to facilitate sustainable boating. The plans were approved, despite 128 applications from
00:54 a range of interested parties, claiming the proposal would, among other things, create
00:59 serious safety risks. Trafford's pub in Bexhill, this is in later news, has a new landlady
01:05 and a new name, Sussex World has reported. An award-winning pub in Edgerton Road, it's
01:09 changed its name to the Ruddy Duck, and the new landlady is thrilled to have taken it
01:13 on with big plans ready to hatch in the near future. The pub was named Loke Ale, you can
01:19 see the pun, pub of the year back in 2022, and has a reputation for great live music
01:24 and a range of real ales from independent brewers. That's all from me here today, but
01:29 for more news, photos, interviews and stories from across Sussex, do make sure to visit

01:46 much for listening.
