00:04 January 16th, 2024. A West Sussex man who lives with Type 1 diabetes has trekked to the Everest
00:11 Base Camp in Nepal to raise funds for Diabetes UK. James Nicholls, 29, from Yapton near Arundel,
00:18 works for the South Downs National Park. He trekked 90 miles and climbed more than 8,000
00:24 metres over 12 days. James has a type of diabetes called latent autoimmune diabetes in adults and
00:31 was diagnosed with diabetes in November 2021. Controversial plans for new bus lanes in Eastbourne
00:37 have been put on hold following a council meeting on Monday, January 15th. The plans, which residents
00:42 of Seaside feared could impact business in the area, will not move forward in their current design
00:48 after East Sussex County Council voted to seek an extension from the government to change the design.
00:53 The original plans sought to place bus lanes from east of Gilbert Road to Langley Rise roundabout,
00:58 which would remove parking spaces from residents and business owners in the seaside corridor.
