00:00 What was the biggest difference between playing for Imei Yudoka and playing for Joe Mizzoula?

00:04 Because that turnaround from the 2022 team, man, like we'll, we'll never forget that,

00:10 you know, just the way that you guys ended the season, went right in through the playoffs,

00:13 all the way to the NBA finals, two wins away. And then all of a sudden, you guys have a new

00:18 coach heading into training camp, you have to adapt to that. Just tell me, like, what was the

00:23 biggest differences that you could think of off the top between playing for Joe Mizzoula in that

00:27 first season and compared to what Imei Yudoka was like? Two different styles. I think, I think

00:33 honestly polar opposite styles, you know, like Imei is very like tough. I want dog, like, and

00:39 I want to defend, like, offense will come. Like, I just want guys who are willing to play as hard

00:44 as possible and fight and whatever else and grip. And then Joe's a little bit more like,

00:48 he still was like, he's, if you know him, he's crazy as hell. He wants to fight and tough. He

00:51 still wants that, but he's way more offensively minded. He's way more like, I want to get better

00:56 pace. You want to get them better looks like don't turn that up and shots like even

00:59 contestant was don't turn them down. And that's where I feel like, I think that it was, it wasn't,

01:05 I always say like, you have to give credit to Joe because like the first year of a head coach put

01:10 in a position that he's, he was in, that's difficult for anybody. Like you're trying to

01:14 both keep what was working going while also like putting your own twist on things. And I think

01:20 that's probably a good, good thing. Not a good thing, but like at the same time, like, I think

01:25 that it was something that was needed to happen for like myself, like for Sam to play. Cause that

01:30 fits more Joe style versus when you hit those, me and him, it was like a question of like, well,

01:34 grant God has helped you. Let's get there last year. But then it's like, Sam is kind of fitting

01:39 them kind of system and play that I want to play. And so it was just like, I think that it was just

01:44 two different styles of coaches. And we, we see that across the league. Like when, uh, like a

01:48 cliff where like these guys have their tips, these guys have their type of styles of teams, you know,

01:53 they know the type of athlete, the type of person they want and their system versus like Joe's kind

01:58 of handed a team. And that's why I think that this year's team has so much success, not just

02:02 in addition with the drew ad and the Chris stops ad, but like the, the styles of play, like email

02:07 and Houston, like he changed that team around because at the end of the day, he brought toughness

02:11 and he brought grit to an organization that hadn't necessarily had a level of consistency or style of

02:16 play. And I think that like both were tremendous coaches are just completely different. Like it's

02:22 like arguing, um, like a Rick Barnes to, uh, uh, Nate Oates, like Rick Barnes, a little more old

02:30 school, a little more physical, a little more down. Like I want to make the game buck and ugly

02:34 while NATO is like, I want to play more fast. I want to shoot more threes. I want to play more

02:38 NBA stuff. Like it's just two great coaches. And once they get their teams, they can make the best,

03:27 Because that just had to be shocking. It was shocking to me when they just called me overnight

03:31 saying, uh, emails out, emails out, but they don't mean emails out. Yeah. There's like,

03:37 there's more to say, but I can't not go say, but, um, I would say that Grant's not talking.

03:44 Is that what you're saying? He grants the grant is holding something just way. Hold on a minute.

03:49 I guess Lacey, I know it was max. We didn't, we didn't tell him, man. We keep it on a hundred

03:55 here. We should have put it on the hundred. That's what we do here. Lace, Lace, the worst is right

04:00 about something. He called me the mayor back in the day. Um, so, you know, I'm making this the

04:04 right answer. Uh, I would say that I was definitely shocked because, you know, but you have to

04:09 understand organization's position. Um, so, you know, I was definitely like bummed and frustrated

04:15 and didn't want him to leave and a bunch of other different emotions. But at the same time, you know,

04:20 you try to understand from the organizational perspective and business side of why it had to

04:26 happen. And, you know, we all have our understanding of the story and kind of things that were

04:32 happening and blah, blah, blah. And, um, I always just say like, I'm supportive of my man because,

04:38 uh, he he's one of the best coaches in this league. This dude is the best just way.

04:44 Great. This is the first time I was good. He's got a future in politics.

04:47 Blah, blah, blah. It doesn't connect. We pick that. That's not a communicated grant. You know,

04:56 that's the seven things your mom told you. Blah, blah, blah. What the hell is that?

05:01 I mean, really? That was option D. That was option.

05:04 That group chat must have been crazy. I'll just say that I'm sure between you and the, uh, the

05:12 teammates, man, because it was crazy, crazy 48 hours for sure. It was a crazy 48 hours. And it's

05:19 funny because like, it's cool because I just, me and Joe had just got him back from Europe

05:25 because I took Joe to Europe. Um, cause I wanted to work with him that year. And then all of a

05:30 sudden all this stuff happens. You're working with the head coach. That's crazy. But then

05:34 that's why I was so like, that's why it was so difficult at the time because like, I was going

05:40 through the whole contract and also playing well and then all of a sudden stopped playing. It was

05:44 just a weird thing. We talked in Boston, um, me and Joe, after everything that settled all the

05:49 dust zone after I was, um, on Charlotte and stuff like that. And like, he's always been my family.

05:54 So like, that's something that I was great, great, refreshing to like, be able to have your brother

05:58 back because like people always wonder like, what's wrong with you and Joe, what's wrong with

06:02 this, what's wrong with that. And it's cool to be able to say like, we're good and moving forward.

06:06 And like, I'm supportive. I've always been supportive of them, but now we're back to where
