00:00Okay, Gator Receiver came out, the show on Netflix, started watching it today, sitting
00:08in the office.
00:09Aman Rush St. Brown is featured.
00:12If you have not watched the Netflix sports documentaries, I highly recommend them.
00:17I have not seen one that I have just watched one episode and backed off.
00:22They're all pretty good.
00:25They mic people up.
00:26They follow them around, whether it's the full swing, is that the PGA Tour one?
00:32I've talked a lot about Drive to Survive, the F1 series.
00:36You know, these are really cool.
00:39And last year, they did quarterback.
00:41The three quarterbacks they followed were Kirk Cousins, Patrick Mahomes, who's a dude
00:49from Atlanta.
00:50He was the first thing.
00:51Yeah, Marcus Mariota.
00:52Thank you.
00:53The Oregon guy.
00:54So to various degrees of success, I mean, from getting replaced to playoff failure to
01:00Super Bowl quarterback, it was interesting because it's home life stuff.
01:05It's practice stuff.
01:07It's meetings, it's injuries, it's, you know, the cameras get to go where they don't otherwise
01:13get to go.
01:14And I think this is the best stuff in sports.
01:15It's when the fans are allowed behind the scenes and get to go places they don't get
01:21to go.
01:22Netflix says this deal.
01:23They did it with the quarterbacks last year and this year it's receiver.
01:26And our guy Amon Ross St. Brown is featured.
01:28This is something we will watch over the next couple of days.
01:32And I'm very excited about it, Gator.
01:35It's a really, really cool show.
01:36And I highly recommend, even though I haven't watched this edition, everything Netflix has
01:42done in this regard.
01:43I've watched like four episodes of the tennis one.
01:45I have very little interest in tennis.
01:49I think it was break point or point break, one of those tennis terms, you know, be great
01:55was point break.
01:56Deuce.
01:57Whatever they call it.
01:58Deuce.
01:59It's just called love.
02:00Yeah.
02:01Yeah.
02:02Love.
02:03Anyway, so.
02:04Lava.
02:05Are you going to watch this?
02:07Yeah.
02:08Yeah, I am.
02:09I really enjoyed the quarterback.
02:10You know, we got some content on him last year.
02:13We know how much you like Kirk Cousins' fire pit in the backyard.
02:15Yeah, it was cool.
02:16He had a great setup back there.
02:17I don't know if he's going to have the same setup in Atlanta or not.
02:19I don't know.
02:20I'd hang on to that property in Minnesota.
02:22Yeah.
02:23But I really like like the show.
02:26And I'm curious.
02:27Obviously, it's one of our guys.
02:28We want to see our guy.
02:29You know, this is our guy getting some more love.
02:32And let's let's see it.
02:34He's an interesting man.
02:36So yeah.
02:37Yeah.
02:38Yeah.
02:39So I'm curious to see what what they're going to show.
02:40I mean, I'm watching hard knocks, you know, preseason, whatever they have with with the
02:46New York Giants.
02:47They just finished their second episode last night that that was interesting as they're
02:51going through their offseason moves and they show them interviewing different players at
02:57the combine, which is really interesting, you know, kind of behind the scenes talks
03:01with other teams about potentially trading and them talking to the Patriots and saying,
03:05hey, if you're looking to move out at three, just, you know, give us a call, give us a
03:09chance, you know.
03:10And it was interesting.
03:12So and you know, what's going to happen with, say, Kwon Barkley, it's a part of knowing
03:15the story and then going back and actually seeing it happen is is interesting.
03:20And that's what this this show does, too.
03:22So I like this idea.
03:24Here's where I like to see it change, though, in the future, OK?
03:28I want to see.
03:31Not just one position group, but like if you're going to do the receivers do the corners to
03:37and make sure that you can you're going to line up corner wide receiver interaction where
03:42they meet twice a year like rivals.
03:45That would be fun.
03:46Like Darius Slay and, you know, Des Bryant or something.
03:49So that's interesting because, you know, who does that actually is the journey on Big Ten
03:53Network when they which is a behind the scenes things with athletes.
03:56They will preview.
03:57Fantastic show.
03:58Yeah.
03:59They will preview two guys that are going to play that weekend.
04:02And so you get to see the build up to the game, what they're talking about, and then,
04:07you know, they go against each other.
04:09And it's really pretty cool.
04:10Yeah, because, I mean, everybody says wide receiver.
04:12That's a diva group.
04:13Right.
04:14Yeah.
04:15And corners, corners.
04:16That's a swag.
04:17Those guys have they got swagger.
04:18So I think it would be kind of fun to watch or even offensive lineman and defensive lineman,
04:21you know, have like, you know, Penny Sewell talking about what it's what it's like to
04:25prepare for, you know, whomever they're going to face.
04:29So it's I think they could take another step, not just with one position group, but do that
04:34the two they're going to face each other.
04:36Yep.
04:37So there's a story in The Athletic about this, and they quote Shannon Furman, who's the producer
04:42and director who worked on Receiver about Amin Ra, why they picked Amin Ra.
04:48I believed in him just from what I saw in Hard Knocks when it came time to find characters
04:52for the show.
04:53And you're talking about different players.
04:54Obviously, I was pushing for him hard.
04:56It was awesome to just see everything that you thought could potentially happen, actually
04:59unfold, maybe be even better than what you thought.
05:03So they went into this thing with high expectations for Amin Ra.
05:07And he delivered.
05:08Absolutely.
05:09Apparently, his segments are very, very entertaining.
05:12So we'll get a couple of segments under the belt.
05:14Ken, you're fired up about this.
05:15Yeah, absolutely.
05:16I mean, you're picking guys that want to do this.
05:18You know, that may sound simple, but it's true because I mean, Amin Ra has a podcast
05:22with his brother.
05:23So he clearly doesn't mind talking about things, you know.
05:27I know he had his own like kind of like he's got his own merch, things like that.
05:32The chip on the shoulder is very well documented at this point.
05:34I feel like I mean, yes, the all the receivers drafted ahead of him is going to be something
05:38that's going to be played again here in Detroit.
05:40We know about it.
05:41I'm not sure how much nationally.
05:42I know they've done it nationally before, but they know about that.
05:46So this yeah, this would be cool.
05:47I mean, I think what you want, Gator, is kind of like when we used to watch the old boxing
05:52previews because they're matching up against each other 24 seven or whatever it is.
05:57Yeah.
05:58Yeah.
05:59So you'd have to do you'd have to line up the schedules, though, because let's say only
06:03Penny Sewell will go against a guy this picks one in the division, a past Russian division
06:08only twice a year.
06:09Right.
06:10Yep.
06:11How about you pick another someone in the division as well?
06:13So there's another two games with somebody else in the division.
06:15You know what I mean?
06:16Because otherwise that week is over quick.
06:17I mean, once they edit everything down, they're not using all that footage.
06:21So.
