00:00we're checking the weather to see how it goes with sunrise balloon miami and we're in homestead so
00:06this is a little bit south for us and it's very early so half of us are half asleep

01:09sunrise is when the winds are the the calmest and everything we do is calm so what we let off
01:14was a pie ball so that's reconfirming what the wind is doing here at this location uh right now
01:18we're waiting for it to which is actually starting to make that turn heading towards the northwest
01:23that would be us right exactly exactly in a mini scale yes correct
01:40we're good ahead apparently we're supposed to be going that way so that's good now we're like in
01:44the southeast right yes we are uh just on the north edge of homestead okay so homestead and
01:49then where do you think we're going to probably land northland landing in the redlands chrome
01:52avenue uh we use this area because it's a lot of agriculture out there and it gives us all the
01:56options for landing what we need is we can set the balloon up anywhere and take off what we need are
02:00options for landing because the captain steers with the wind so there is no motor we mother wind
02:05no there is wind well you see exactly like you say you see that's the whole thing if you look
02:09kind of our rule of thumb is if you see the trees moving it's too fast so right now you say there's
02:13no wind but as you can obviously see it's moving it's taken off so you want to float i mean you
02:18don't want to glide so we are an adventure operation we're not a thrill ride everything
02:22is very smooth the nice scenery of miami that you're gonna get that's the idea you're gonna
02:26see an area where probably 95 of miami doesn't even know exists yes probably even the tourists
02:32are like what is homestead where is that what exactly okay so uh do we wait or uh yeah we're
02:38gonna wait a couple minutes and then uh if we decide this is i've got to check with the captain
02:41right now make sure that's the direction he wants to go in and uh if that's the case then we'll
02:45unload the equipment and take us about 20 minutes to set everything up get you guys in and get you

03:49them or you just kind of leave them for the end and so we just woke up one day and said okay that's
03:53it we're gonna do it no matter what it was actually a gift that uh she got for me for
03:56our anniversary yeah congratulations when was that that was uh november 3rd last month yeah
04:03you got a rainy anniversary i hope i hope it paid off in some way i mean but at least you're getting

04:15tourists of course we are tourists today because we've never done this so i thought that we were

04:48originally yeah but i live in the states now i've been here for nearly three years

05:00i was born in south africa and i lived there until i was like 25 and then i moved over to

05:10so you've been here two years so is this your first time also in a hot air balloon yeah it is
05:14i'm really excited a little bit nervous because it seems really small and kind of scary to grow
05:18up a little bit claustrophobic a little bit but i'm excited i think it'll be a little bit i mean
05:22at least you're like out in the open so it's not really claustrophobic like i'm excited i'm nervous
05:26but i'm more excited yeah you know i heard on our way here because you actually park your car
05:30somewhere and then they bring you to the best place that they're seeing you know with their
05:33computers and everything where it's the best place to launch from launch and we're going on a rocket
05:38or something i don't know and apparently did you know that they've um they've done this for so long
05:43that some of them in germany uh went out for like a week in a hot air balloon that that's what would
05:48go through your mind to ask somebody that's been in a hot air balloon for a week crazy how do you
05:53survive in a hot air balloon for a week i'm sure the scenery is like beautiful and everything like
05:58that but how do you yeah how do you survive for a week in a hot air balloon that's a lot of supplies
06:02and stuff i'm gonna ask them again because i don't want i don't want to spill the news so they'll
06:06tell you a little bit of the details if you want to know but uh all right so also well i guess we'll
06:11get you up there and i i'm we're all kind of like gonna learn look there's another one
06:17the cool thing is that you actually get to see the process so when they're putting everything
06:20together you're a part of that so that's pretty cool you know it's not just like okay get on and
06:24bye bye are we ready we're sending up another one so you're not really sure yeah you want to
06:29make sure because right it wasn't getting that a little bit of a westerly turn that we were looking
06:33for and that pipe the the lantern doesn't go up as high so we sent up a helium balloon as you can
06:39see it right there that went a lot higher yeah it's going to go a lot higher so it's going to
06:42give us the winds a loft to see exactly what they're doing and we wanted to actually make
06:46a little bit more of a left turn because that's going to take us more into populated areas exactly
06:52no but like i said we meet this early it's still early enough the sun hasn't come up yet so if
06:55anything we're going to move uh this is our you know our first shot if not we've got some other
06:59spots that we can move to so if it doesn't get that turn then we're going to go down a little
07:04bit further we're going to we're going to physically move us west so that we stay west
07:08so you want to make sure that you get the right place so it's all worth it in the end
07:12i'm patient it's all about yeah it's all about the right yeah don't worry they don't bite me out of
07:18respect really yeah i don't get that some people don't get bitten by mosquitoes i get bitten all
