00:00All right so point two things to watch in training camp. Second year players. So you got
00:08Jameer Gibbs, you got Sam Laporta, you got Jack Campbell, and you have Brian Branch.
00:16I said last week you weren't in that I am as confident that Jack Campbell is going to be a
00:22special player. No way. As any sports take I have ever had. Wow. I am as confident of that.
00:29I am fully convinced that he has the physical tools. I think he's got the the work ethic,
00:37the approach. Everything about him screams to me and and he's so linebackery. Everything about him
00:44screams NFL linebacker. I am as convinced of that at any other sports take. So we turned it into a
00:49whole topic the things you're absolutely sure of. I also think one of those guys is not going to get
00:55better. And it's because I don't know that he can. Laporta? Yeah. I'm not saying he's going to
01:09be bad. His rookie season was so incredible that if he just keeps doing that every year
01:17now he could get better. I think it's a big ask to get better from what he did as a rookie and now
01:23he's a bullet point on opposing defensive coordinators game plans.
01:27I'm not necessarily going to be disappointed in him but there's going to be some decisions.
01:32Who do we try and take away? Amin Rah is going to probably be, I would imagine,
01:38opposing defensive coordinators number one priority. As it should be. And then is it Laporta?
01:45Until Jameson Williams proves he's worth the hype in the past game I think it's it's Laporta that
01:51gets the next most attention. In the past game yes. Overall I would think Jameer Gibbs is the
01:56number two guy you have to worry about the Lions offense. I think number one is St. Brown then
02:02Gibbs and then it's probably Laporta after that. And the only way I see
02:10Laporta taking a step back beyond injury is if Jameson Williams is such a revelation this year
02:19that that's a guy who's going to get you know 80 receptions, 90 receptions this year. And that
02:26takes away of what Laporta would get. Maybe his numbers won't be as impressive even though he'll
02:32be just fine he'll be the same guy but the numbers won't improve. And that the only way that happens
02:37is if if Jamo is the guy. And let me be clear what I'm saying here. I'm not saying Laporta's
02:44going to be bad. Right no. I'm not saying that I think Laporta's even necessarily going to take
02:50a step back. I think he was so incredible as a rookie that he will have the toughest job
02:59being better this coming season. I mean he led the NFL the tight end position in touchdown
03:04receptions. Led the NFL with 10 of them. 86 catches, 889 yards. It's an incredible
03:12incredible season for a rookie.
